La Giorgio Tesi Group compie 40 anni. Nel 1973 Giorgio e Tullio Tesi hanno fondato l’azienda sul piccolo podere di famiglia. Con il tempo, anno dopo anno, il testimone è passato ai figli Fabrizio, Claudio, Romeo e Tiziano, che oggi guidano la Giorgio Tesi Group. Dai pochi ettari degli anni settanta, oggi l’azienda estende le sue produzioni su oltre 500 ettari di superficie. Dalle piccole commesse per Pistoia e la Toscana di quegli anni, oggi l’azienda esporta in 50 paesi al mondo.

Dopo la morte prematura di Tullio, Giorgio, con tanti sacrifici, ha dato l’inizio alla crescita, ha saputo leggere il futuro, ha investito sulla famiglia e sui giovani e oggi a lui va il ringraziamento di tutti noi. Un grazie speciale va anche alle nostre mamme Giovanna e Donetta, ancora oggi punti di riferimento insostituibili.

Un pensiero, in un momento così speciale, va anche ai nostri figli, nella speranza che possano appassionarsi a questo stupendo lavoro e possano continuare sulla strada tracciata da Giorgio e Tullio 40 anni fa. Infine, un ringraziamento sincero a tutti i collaboratori, i dipendenti e i professionisti che lavorano per la Giorgio Tesi Group. Una “squadra” che con senso di appartenenza fortissimo, professionalità e generosità ha fatto crescere questa azienda e ci permette di guadare al futuro con ottimismo.

The Giorgio Tesi Group celebrates its 40th anniversary. In 1973, Giorgio and Tullio Tesi founded the company on the small family farm. With time, year after year, the baton was passed to their offspring Fabrizio, Claudio, Romeo, and Tiziano, who currently direct the Giorgio Tesi Group. From a few hectares in the 1970s, the company’s production today extends over more than 500 hectares. From the small orders for Pistoia and Tuscany of those years, the company now exports to 50 countries worldwide.

After Tullio’s untimely death, Giorgio, at great sacrifice, paved the way for growth, looking into the future and investing in his family and its young xpeople. today he deserves all of our thanks. Special thanks must also go to our mothers Giovanna and Donetta, still exceptional sources of inspiration.

In a special moment such as this, one’s thoughts turn to our children, to the hope that they will share our enthusiasm for this wonderful work and continue following the path laid out by Giorgio and Tullio forty years ago. Piadena, il nuovo vivaio (uno dei più estesi del nord Italia) è specializzato nell’alberatura a pieno campo e in vaso di latifoglie. Nella nuova filiale di Grosseto e in quelle di Orbetello e San Benedetto del Tronto l’azienda produce piante mediterranee e più adatte al clima mite.

Il Gruppo produce tutte le specie e le varietà di piante che richiede il mercato europeo ed extra europeo, dalle giovani piante agli esemplari di grandi dimensioni, dalle forme geometriche agli alberi per le città e i viali, piante per i garden center e la grande distribuzione, per tutte le zone climatiche, per le varie tipologie di aree a verde pubblico e privato.

16ha The production extends onto more than 500 hectares of surface (of which 360 is for plants that are planted in land, 125 in vases and 16 covered by greenhouses and high tunnels); today the company includes more than 200 permanent employees throughout the production and commercial sector of the 18 nurseries situated in Pistoia and in the company’s 4 branches. In Piadena, the new plant nursery (one of the many in northern Italy) specializes in trees in the open field and in vases of Broad Leaf plants. In the new branches of Grosseto and Orbetello and San Benedetto del Tronto the company produces Mediterranean plants that are more adapt to the moderate climate.

The Tesi Group produces all species and varieties of plants that the European and international markets request, from young plants to specimens of large dimensions, from geometric forms to trees for cities and boulevards, plants for the garden centre and large distribution, for all of the climactic zones, and for the various typologies of public and private terrain.

Per la produzione si utilizzano 150 ettari adibiti ad alberatura a pieno campo alla quale si affiancano 11 ettari di vasetteria con numerose varietà di piante in grado di soddisfare la clientela più esigente offrendo soluzioni ed alternative anche per i progetti più inconsueti. Di uguale importanza è la vendita del cash and carry, potenziata con un’area di carico al coperto e relativa esposizione per permettere ai clienti di acquistare sia piccole quantità che carrelli interi a prezzi veramente competitivi.

Piadena it’s the green lung of the Group.

Its production goes on 150ha of open fields together with 11ha of pots on a range of more than 20000 trees. The wide production gives our customers plenty of choice and gives the chance of alternatives even for unusual requests.

Moreover, clients can also buy at very sharp prices either small quantity or trolleys from the cash and carry.

L’acquisizione dell’ex azienda comunale Vivaio Il Terzo di Grosseto ha permesso alla Giorgio Tesi Group di consolidare la sua presenza in provincia di Grosseto, dove già possiede un vivaio di circa 18 ettari a Orbetello, e di poter contare su altri 93 ettari di coltivazioni a pieno campo di piante mediterranee e adatte al clima mite. In particolare, l’acquisizione ha permesso di non disperdere un patrimonio di ricerca importante sviluppato dall’Istituto per la Protezione delle Piante del CNR in oltre 30 anni di attività, con la sperimentazione dei cloni di cipresso resistenti al fungo denominato Seiridium cardinale, volgarmente detto “cancro del cipresso”.

Takingover the former municipal company Il Terzo, the nursery in Grosseto, strengthend Giorgio Tesi Group ‘s existence in the area of Grosseto, where already has achieved in Orbetello a 18 hectares nursery, and moreover capitalize over than 93 hectares land for growing Mediterranean plants for a warm climate. Si trova nell’estremo sud della Toscana, nella famosa Maremma. Il vivaio è situato lungo la via Aurelia- direzione Sud- davanti alla laguna di Orbetello ed al monte Argentario. Si estende su 18 ettari di terreno, in parte vasetteria ed in parte in pieno campo, ove coltiviamo le piante tipiche mediterranee toscane; inoltre lo speciale clima temperato dato dalla laguna di Orbetello ci permette di coltivare anche le specie più sensibili al freddo come Quercus Ilex, Quercus Rubur, Pistacea, Arbutus Unedo.

Orbetello is near Grosseto, in the well known area called “Maremma”, down the south of Tuscany.

The nursery is located in front of the Orbetello lagoon and the Argentario mount.

The site has 18ha of containers and open field production, where we grow the typical Mediterranean plants, together with the most tender ones such as Quercus Ilex, Quercus Robur, Pistacea and Arbutus unedo.

Famosa località marittima, in posizione favorevole lungo l’autostrada adriatica, a solo 1 km dal mare. In totale sono 12 ettari di terreno adibiti a vasetteria ed in pieno campo. Si producono principalmente varietà particolarmente richieste negli ultimi anni che la nostra produzione di Pistoia non riusciva a soddisfare, come le piante da siepi, particolarmente sensibili al freddo (Laurus nobilis, Pittosporum, Nerium Oleander), oltre alle tipiche del luogo.

This town is located near Ascoli Piceno, only 1km far from the coast. The area has 12 ha of pots and open field production where we grow hedging and other typical plants of the region, such as Laurus Nobilis, Pittosporum and Nerium Oleander.

Nella nostra organizzazione la spedizione delle piante nelle migliori condizioni e nel minor tempo possibile è favorita sia da una reciproca intesa e un contatto giornaliero con i nostri clienti che dalle migliori macchine agricole, tecnologie avanzate e nuove strutture messe a disposizione del nostro personale per garantire un servizio impeccabile.

In seguito a specifiche esigenze di mercato, abbiamo sviluppato negli ultimi anni le spedizioni su CC e box pallets. Il nuovo capannone è stato adibito in parte a questo tipo di lavoro con rampe di carico e scarico. Questo sistema ci permette di far partire centinaia di camion in pochi giorni per le destinazioni più importanti e per le catene di distribuzione che hanno la necessità di ricevere tutta la merce negli stessi giorni per le loro promozioni.

New structures, advanced technologies and the best agricultural equipment together with a daily contact with our clients, help us shipping the plants in the best conditions and in the shortest time.

Following particular market demands, we have recently empowered shipments on CC trolleys and box pallets. One part of the new shed will be used for this purpose and it was equipped with loading and unloading ramps.

This system helps us let hundreds of lorries leave in a few days, especially to the garden centre chains that need to receive their plants quickly and punctually for their promotions.

Negli ultimi anni l’azienda ha incrementato la già vasta varietà di piante prodotte, con l’inserimento ed il potenziamento delle tipologie di piccole e medie dimensioni, peraltro molto richieste dal mercato della grande distribuzione.

Nello specifico trattasi di piante minifusto, spirali, pompon, bonsai e mini bonsai nelle varie specie: buxus, ilex, cupressus ecc..

Inoltre, relativamente all’arte topiaria toscana, esiste un’ampia possibilità di scelta, sia nelle forme che nelle dimensioni.

Although we grow an excellent range of high quality production , it has increased and since the last few years, especially to supply large retailers, Buxus, Ilex and Cupressus can be supplied also as mini std, spiral, pompon, bonsai and mini bonsai. Moreover, the topiary art has a comprehensive variety in shape and sizes.

IT-001442 La Giorgio Tesi Group è l’unica azienda europea ad aver ottenuto la certificazione Emas, un attestato di grande importanza perché certifica gli impegni assunti dall’azienda in termini di qualità e rispetto dell’ambiente. L’ultimo nuovo importante riconoscimento di azienda “green” per la Giorgio Tesi Group di Pistoia è stato la certificazione MPS classe A rilasciato da ECAS ente di certificazione Olandese. In un anno la Giorgio Tesi Group è passata dalla classe C alla classe A in una certificazione che attesta la virtuosità dell’azienda nei consumi di acqua, gas, gasolio, energia elettrica, fertilizzanti e antiparassitari.

La netta riduzione dei consumi e altri interventi di tutela dell’ambiente hanno permesso all’azienda di conseguire un punteggio altissimo.

Si completa così il percorso che ha portato all’ottenimento delle seguenti certificazioni: 1. certificazione del proprio sistema di gestione per la qualità ai sensi della norma UNI EN ISO 9002:1994 e successivamente UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 rilasciato da CSQA ente di certificazione accreditato Accredia; 2. certificazione del sistema di gestione ambientale ai sensi della norma UNI EN ISO 14001:2004, rilasciato da Certiquality ente di certificazione accreditato Accredia.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION SYSTEM UNI EN ISO 14001:2004

The Giorgio Tesi Group is the only European company to have obtained the EMAS certification, a certification of extremely significant important because it certifies the commitment undertaken in terms of quality and respect for the environment. The latest new important recognition of the “green” company for the Giorgio Tesi Group of Pistoia was the MPS Class A certification given by the authority, EMAS, of Dutch certifications. In one year the Giorgio Tesi Group passed from Class C to Class A in a certification that attests to the virtuosity of the company in its consumption of water, gas, gasoline, electrical energy, fertilizers and anti-parasite chemicals. The sharp reduction in consumption and other interventions of safeguarding the environment have allowed the company to obtain an extremely high ranking.

Following are the details of the certifications: 1. Certification of the management system for quality following the norms UNI EN ISO 9002:1994 and later UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 given by the authority, CSQA by the certification accredited Accredia; 2. Certification of the system of environmental management following the norms UNI EN ISO 1400:2004, given by the authority Certiquality accredited Accredia; 3. Il cipresso è la pianta che, idealmente, rappresenta il paesaggio naturalistico del Mediterraneo. Minacciato da una malattia che ne mette a rischio il futuro, il Seiridium cardinale, volgarmente detto “cancro del cipresso”. Per questo, l’Istituto per la Protezione delle Piante del CNR e la Giorgio Tesi Group hanno promosso una collaborazione finalizzata alla sua salvaguardia attraverso progetti di ricerca di nuove varietà testate nel tempo. Le migliori verranno clonate e brevettate geneticamente, in particolare quelle a più basso impatto allergenico.

Inoltre l’accordo prevede l’autorizzazione coesclusiva alla produzione e alla commercializzazione dei cloni storici resistenti testati dal CNR nel corso di tanti anni di studi e cioè le varietà “Bolgheri”, “Mediterraneo” e “Italico”, varietà bellissime a portamento più o meno pyramidalis, e la varietà “Agrimed” molto adatta a siepi e frangiventi. Molto importante, per questa attività, è stata l’acquisizione dell’azienda Il Terzo di Grosseto che collabora con il CNR da oltre 30 anni. L’acquisizione ha permesso di non disperdere un patrimonio di ricerca così importante. Inoltre al suo interno sono disponibili alla vendita immediata circa 15.000 piante da 2 a 9 metri delle varietà prima elencate.

Notizia di questi ultimi giorni è l’analoga collaborazione col Cnr che porterà l’azienda a sperimentare e coltivare una nuova varietà di olmo resistente alla “grafiosi”, una delle malattie che hanno portato alla scomparsa di grandissima parte degli individui adulti di olmo e che hanno contribuito a modificare il paesaggio europeo e nordamericano. Questo progetto si effettuerà nella filiale di Piadena, con clima e terreno particolarmente adatto all’olmo.

The cypress is the plant that, ideally, represents the naturalistic landscape of the Mediterranean. Threatened by a disease that puts it at risk for the future, the Cardinal Seiridium, called the “cancer of the Cypress tree.” For this reason, the Institute for the Protection of the Plants of the CNR and the Giorgio Tesi Group have supported a collaboration finalized for the protection through the research projects of the new varieties tested over time. The best will be cloned and genetically copied, in particular those that have the lowest allergenic impact.

Furthermore, the agreement foresees the co-exclusive authorization of the production and commercialization of the historical clones resistant tested by the CNR over the course of the many years of study and therefore the varieties, “Bolgheri,” “Mediterranean,” and “Italic,” beautiful varieties with a more or less pyramid like stature, and the varieties “Agrimed” that are very adapt to bushes and windbreaks.

What is very important for this company is the acquisition of the Third party of Grosseto that has collaborated with the CNR for more than 30 years now. The acquisition has permitted very important research. Furthermore, inside it there are available to be sold round 15,000 plants from 2 to 9 meters of variety listed before.

News of these last days is the same collaboration with the CNR that brings the company to experiment and cultivate a new variety of elm tree that is resistant to the “grafiosi,” a desease that has caused the destruction of individual adult elm trees and has also contributed in modifying the European and North American landscapes. This project will take place in the branch of Piadena, with the climate and terrain that is particularly suitable to the elm.

Un paesaggio straordinario. Una competizione mondiale. Un’eccellenza nel settore delle piante e del verde. Questi tre ingredienti renderanno le gare del Mondiale di Ciclismo che si svolgeranno in Toscana dal 22 al 29 settembre un evento straordinario e irripetibile. Dynamo camp è un camp di terapia riabilitativa rivolto gratuitamente a bambini e ragazzi dai 7 ai 17 anni affetti da patologie gravi e croniche, in terapia e nel periodo di post ospedalizzazione. I progetti di accoglienza sono nazionali e internazionali.

With the non-profit Giorgio Tesi Foundation’s ongoing commitment to initiatives that give a hand to children and the most vulnerable, the Giorgio Tesi Group will donate a percentage of the revenues from sales contracts for the Pinocchio-brand plants to Dynamo Camp by supporting charitable projects for the care and treatment of children.

Dynamo Camp offers free rehabilitation therapy to children aged seven to seventeen years of age suffering from serious and chronic diseases, currently in therapy, or in post-hospitalization convalescence. The hospitality projects are national and international.

Protagonista è la pianta The plant is the protagonist Fare rete diventa necessario quando si discutono argomenti d’interesse comune. Ancor di più se l’oggetto in questione è la pianta e tutti i benefici coniugati a essa. Oggi, il tema appare delicato per quanto sottovalutato e occorre, quindi, fare massa critica nello sviluppare la percezione comune che gli alberi sono indispensabili per la vita dell’uomo.

Questo il concetto semplice e basilare, all’origine di “aboutplants. eu”, il nuovo web-magazine edito dalla “Giorgio Tesi group”. Il giornale si è posto l’obiettivo di divulgare tutto ciò che ruota attorno alla pianta. Per farlo con credibilità serve esperienza, credibilità, passione e referenza, tutte doti non facili da trovare. Ligi al concetto di multidisciplinarità, ovvero più teste competenti a scambiarsi idee su ogni singolo argomento, sono stati coinvolti numerosi collaboratori.

Ognuno di loro contribuirà a seconda della propria provenienza culturale e professionale, all’interno delle sei voci principali su cui è impostato il giornale.

As this topic today appears both delicate and undervalued, it is thus necessary to reach critical mass in developing the common understanding regarding the indispensability of trees to human life.

This simple and basic concept is at the heart of the new web magazine AboutPlants.eu, published by the Giorgio Tesi Group”. The periodical has set as its goal the dissemination of everything that has to do with plants.

In order to carry this out in a credible way requires experience, integrity, enthusiasm, and points of reference – not easy qualities to find.

In order to remain faithful to its multi-disciplinary approach – in other words, the more experienced heads available to exchange ideas on a given topic, the better – numerous contributors have become involved according to their own cultural and professional background that will support the six main themes on which the publication is based.

Tutti i componenti della famiglia Tesi, dagli anziani ai bambini, sono uniti nel condividere questa importante iniziativa, per ricordare Giorgio Tesi, i suoi insegnamenti, il rispetto per il prossimo, l’amore per i valori della tradizione.

Per applicare il suo messaggio in opere di bene, è stata istituita una Fondazione che prende il suo nome e che ha sede nella casa colonica natia, che è stata recentemente e sapientemente recuperata e che consta di sale convegni ed uffici vari.

La fondazione ha lo scopo prevalente di aiuto, sostegno e solidarietà sociale in lavori di enti o privati in condizioni di bisogno. Le opere di bene saranno indirizzate con privilegio verso gli anziani, i bambini e i malati seguendo quelli che sono stati i principi etici e morali sostenuti da Giorgio Tesi.

Every member of the Tesi Family believes in the importance to commemorate Giorgio Tesi, his advices, the respect for the others , and the love for the tradition’s values. A charity Foundation in his memory has been inaugurated in the born house that has recently been restored and which is equipped with several halls and an auditorium for conferences and meetings. Giorgio Tesi has always had a feeling for social problems. This is a reason why we contribute to the reintegration of disadvantaged people through the nursery teaching.

We cooperate with either preschools and universities: from time to time, visits are arranged in order for young people to get closer to the nursery context.
