An Exclusive Encounter

with Botswana's Epic Wildlife

Dear Traveler,

If your safari sights are set on Botswana, you know it is one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations. And no one takes you deeper into the Botswana wilds than Nat Hab.

I first visited in 1990, and what struck me then—beyond the sheer abundance of animals—was the sense of being immersed in something both ancient and intact. That hasn’t changed. For all the upgrades in safari comfort, Botswana’s rich ecosystems remain largely undisturbed, thanks to the country’s commitment to conservation.

From its vast savannas and shimmering salt pans to the emerald channels of the Okavango Delta, about 40% of Botswana's land is protected. Here, elephants follow ancestral paths, lions and other predators safeguard their territories, and countless other species flourish.

Our safaris showcase the immensity of Botswana’s wilderness. From our flagship Secluded Botswana Safari to our Epic Botswana & Namibia expedition, green season safaris and family adventures, every trip takes you deep into nature via private conservancies, exclusive camps, chartered flights, top Expedition Leaders and a conservation-first approach as WWF’s travel partner.

If you’re seeking an exhilarating adventure with space, solitude and substance, we’d love to share the Botswana we’ve known for decades. Call 800-543-8917 or visit nathab.com/botswana25 to learn more.

I hope to see you out there,

Botswana Explorer blends land- and water-based safaris. Family Botswana features wildlife tracking and family-friendly activities and camps. Epic Botswana & Namibia spans five varied regions for unmatched biodiversity. All trips feature small groups, chartered flights, secluded camps and a conservation-first ethos.

Specialized Flights Private Vehicles &

Chartered flights are key to connecting the wildlife-rich regions of Botswana—linking the Okavango Delta, Linyanti Plains and other remote ecosystems quickly and comfortably. These short, scenic rides maximize your time on safari and grant access to secluded camps few others reach. On the ground, our opensided 4x4 vehicles are designed for comfort and visibility, with tiered seating and plenty of room, so every guest has an unobstructed “window” seat and optimal photo angles. We also operate one of the region’s first off-grid electric safari vehicles—quiet, low-impact and ideal for close wildlife encounters.

Botswana’s Naturalist Finest

Guides Safari

Our Expedition Leaders rank among the most highly certified guides in Africa, with an average of 15 years of training and field experience. Deeply knowledgeable about Botswana’s wildlife, they’re also skilled trackers, naturalists and educators who bring each ecosystem to life with insight, depth and genuine care for the land. Through our partnership with WWF, they receive access to the latest conservation science. Their expertise and intuitive field skills lead to more meaningful wildlife encounters, richer interpretation and personalized guiding that transform a great safari into an extraordinary one.

Expert trackers and interpreters, Nat Hab’s seasoned naturalist guides bring extensive skill, insight and depth to every Botswana safari experience. Photo by Nat Hab staff member Dana Cama.

Opportunities Small Groups Create Big

Our Botswana safari groups are the smallest you'll find, giving your Expedition Leader the freedom to respond to the moment—staying longer at a predator sighting, setting out early for goldenhour light illuminating grazing impala, or veering off-track to follow the fresh prints of a lion. You’ll ride in open 4x4 vehicles with tiered seating and plenty of space for wide-open views, steady camera work and an unbroken connection to the sights, sounds and scents of the bush. Smaller groups also grant us access to remote camps on private conservancies and let us move quietly through sensitive terrain—often leading to closer, more powerful wildlife encounters.

Averaging 6–10 guests per departure, our small groups offer a personalized experience with exclusive access to intimate camps and private reserves.

the Delta & Beyond Kalahari, Botswana

• Rare Green Season Wildlife Immersion

• New Animal Babies Fill the Plains

• Witness Victoria Falls at Peak Volume

Botswana's lush summer offers natural spectacles most travelers miss. Sporadic light rains in the Kalahari Desert mark a time of dramatic change, signaling a great influx of wildlife and plains game births. From January to April, 50,000 zebra and wildebeest pass through the Kalahari in Africa’s second-largest migration. In the Okavango Delta, water levels are lower, offering superb wildlife viewing with stable populations of lion, leopard, wild dog and much more. We also interact with the San people, the earliest hunter-gatherers in southern Africa, whose culture dates back more than 30,000 years.

Fostering Coexistence Between Communities & Wildlife

In northeastern Botswana, WWF is helping to protect vital wildlife corridors in the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), the world’s largest transboundary conservation landscape. The region is critical for wide-ranging species like lions, hyenas and elephants, whose movements cover hundreds of miles. One GPS-collared hyena traveled more than 3,700 miles in a year, highlighting the need for connected habitat. WWF supports corridor mapping, livestock enclosure upgrades and conflict prevention—building a conservation model that protects migration routes and helps people and wildlife coexist.
