ACTION Mission: As a Nature’s Sunshine family, we’re proud of our heritage, and we strive to create a bright, prosperous and most importantly, healthy future. One of ACTION’s goals in 2018 is to challenge ourselves to take a more proactive approach to transforming lives as individuals, families and communities.

One of our goals is to focus on our community. We can touch lives, not only through monetary contributions, but through outreach by giving some of our time and services to worthwhile projects. We challenge you to set aside at least one hour a month to devote to one of these projects. We will also be seeking community service opportunities with our corporate charitable partner, Sunshine Heroes Foundation. We promise it will be a fulfilling experience!

We are offering several “team” events and activities throughout the year, and we encourage all of our employees to participate. While we want to have fun and get to know new people, we also want to increase our brand awareness and recognition within the community through our 2018 sports initiative. Why not start a cycling or running club or form a team to run a 5K, 10K marathon or triathlon, while sporting our company logo? Take a photo and send it to sharik@natr.com so that we can share your experience with everyone!

To kick off our branding initiative, ACTION has provided one t-shirt (choice of 2-4 colors) to each employee in our 3 Utah offices and distribution centers. Please wear your branded t-shirts to all ACTION events and other events throughout the year. This year let’s make a difference as we get our name out and get healthier in the process. So GAME ON! Feature Nature’s Sunshine Distribution Centers It’s Monday morning in the domestic Distribution Centers (DC). The DC Managers are showing up to work before their employees to run a pick release in anticipation of the work volume that will follow. They spend hours printing orders and folding picklists so the shipping teams have the work ready for them. Depending on the promotional offers or the time of the month, thousands of picklists will be printed, some containing a single page while others consist of multiple pages.

The preparation of the shipping line is necessary so the teams can be as efficient as possible. Not only does it require folding picklists, but the teams spend hours each week stocking shipping lines with approximately 700 different items. Throughout the course of a week, they’ll stock in excess of 500-700 boxes on the shipping line and ship thousands of orders to our customers.

Each center receives a replenishment truck from Central Distribution in Spanish Fork weekly. The replenishment consists of items based on the sales, promotions and consumption that has taken place throughout the course of a week. Each pallet is broken down and inspected for accuracy before being stocked into the flow lanes.

Every order placed in the U.S. goes through a very specific process to help ensure that the customer receives the highest quality experience possible. This includes picking, quality inspection, packing the boxes to ensure the integrity of the deliveries, and manifesting the orders through the UPS system.

Nature’s Sunshine has four U.S. Distribution Centers located in Austell, Georgia; Columbus, Ohio; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Spanish Fork, Utah. Every center is staffed differently, based on the volumes that come through each Distribution Center.

The Georgia Distribution Center, managed by Lillian Collet, ships approximately 164,000 NSP orders and 1,476,000 units each year. It operates with eight employees: Lillian Collett (19 years), Shirley Bowman (22 years), Philisa Adams (16 years), Wendy Blanchard (13 years), Cynthia Butler (12 years), Renee Soles (19 years) and Carlos Williams (5 years).

The Ohio DC, managed by Terry Ross, ships approximately 248,000 NSP orders and 2,480,000 units annually. It operates with 11 employees: Terry Ross (20 years), Jodi Morrow (30 years), Brenda Fleming (23 years), Bonnie Wiley (12 years), Constance Avila (3 years), Mohamed Sufi (3 years), Jennifer Page (4 years), Rob Fleming (1 year), Matisha Diallo (1 year), Sheila Ward (4 years) and Jerri Turner (1 year).

The Texas DC, managed by Glenn Robinson, ships approximately 177,000 NSP orders and 1,770,000 units each year.

It operates with eight employees: Glenn Robinson (28 years), Silvia Sanchez (20 years), Armando Zamaro (20 years), Dora Hernandez (16 years), Marisela Hernandez (15 years), Esbeida Dominguez (10 years), Penny Howse (5 years) and Dorian Hargis (1 year).

Managed by TJ Herbert, the Utah DC ships approximately 192,000 NSP orders and 1,920,000 units annually. It operates with 10 employees: TJ Herbert (20 years), Cindy Larsen (16 years), Brandi Andrus (9 years), Katie Warner (6 years), Chalyce Carter (10 years), Lisa Carter (12 years), Rose Long (16 years), Melissa Manhard (11 years), Alice Mecham (21 years), Craig Merighe (3 Months) and Tyson Thomas (14 years).

Our New Lehi Corporate Headquarters Our name is on the building, the pictures are on the walls and the doors are finally open! A few finishing touches are still being added to give it the Nature’s Sunshine look and feel throughout, but our new corporate offices in Lehi have come together marvelously with updated branding and terrific new amenities. Designed to encourage collaboration and foster teamwork, our new building will bring us together like never before! Coordinating such a move takes a massive effort from everyone, and we appreciate the cooperation, patience and professionalism exhibited by all of Nature’s Sunshine’s employees in making this move successful.

T he 2018 ACTION Bowling League was on a roll this year with over 70 employees participating. More

than 50 bowlers qualified for our bowl-off on Tuesday, April 10 and enjoyed a catered dinner and friendly competition with coworkers for an evening. After three rounds of bowling, “We Plan to Win,” led by Paul Wogksch, once again came out on top.

MOVIE PREMIERE

Nature’s Sunshine’s Utah employees gathered May 8 for a fun afternoon at the theater to see the recently released Avengers: Infinity War movie.

Attendees were treated to bottled water, popcorn and a brief presentation highlighted by a preview of our new office building by Pat O’Hara and Adriana Mendizabal. We also took the opportunity to recognize our Q1 2018 Superstars and the winners of our ACTION Bowl-Off.

6 Lunch and Learn Our new Lunch & Learn program gives employees the opportunity to receive training from community members and other employees in areas outside their job function. Below is a summary of our Lunch & Learns throughout the year.

February—CPR/First Aid EMS Training Officer, Beth Wilding taught a fun, hands-on class on basic life-saving skills to help employees learn what they can do in emergency situations. This included assessing emergencies, stopping bleeding, choking and compressions only CPR. March—Excel Computer Training Jordan Briggs taught 2 introductory Excel classes, Intro to Visual Basics (a programming language within Excel) and an overview of Commonly Used Formulas to help employees better use Excel to improve and reduce waste in their daily tasks.

April—Product Tutorial Nathan Tingen gave an overview of Nature’s Sunshine’s and Synergy’s product offerings to help employees both new and old better understand where to begin supplementing their health and well-being. This presentation will part of the new employee orientation.

May— “Know Your Why” by EAP Intermountan’s Employee Assistance Program presented a “Know Your Why” workshop to help guide employees in identifying and writing their life purposes—their why. They also learned how to use their why to guide daily decisions and become more committed and productive in life.

NSP Employee/Vendor Appreciation Golf Tourney Holiday Employee Party

he ACTION Committee hosted an Employee/Vendor Appreciation Golf Tournament on Tuesday, June 5 at Talons Cove in Saratoga Springs. The reverse shotgun start began promptly at 8:15 a.m., and 17 teams made up of 23 vendors and 43 employees, enjoyed the well-groomed and scenic course nestled on the west side of Utah Lake. After golf, all enjoyed a fabulous lunch of pulled pork with hot BBQ, mashed potatoes, chopped green salad, roll with butter, cookies and cranberry lemonade, and a brief awards presentation emceed

by Greg Probert, Chairman & CEO of Nature’s Sunshine. The $35 registration fee covered the greens fees/carts and a portion of the catered lunch. The ACTION budget covered the balance of the lunch plus a continental breakfast and swag bags with an NSP branded waffle golf towel, Synergy cap, lip balm, shaker bottle with Synergy ProArgi9 and E9 and NSP Solstic stick packs, KIND protein bars, bottled water, plus vendor donations (see below).

Annual Fun Run/Walk Nature’s Sunshine’s annual Fun Run/Walk has been a staple of the wellness program for more than a decade, but this year it took on added significance as each mile walked or run would generate funds for Sunshine Heroes. On Wednesday, May 16, Nature’s Sunshine held its 15th Annual Run Fun with more than 180 employees participating. Employees walked a total of 514.5 miles, and Nature’s Sunshine will donate $1 per mile walked to Sunshine Heroes.

As a thank you to everyone who walked and supported Sunshine Heroes, each participant received a special gift bag. Additionally, 16 participants had their names drawn to receive a gift card and branded water bottle.

New Sunshine Center in Bocas Del Toro, Panama We’re excited to announce a second Sunshine Center in Panama to be completed this year.

In 2015, Sunshine Heroes Foundation partnered with Give & Surf for the first time to build a Sunshine Children’s Center in Panama. Finished in November of that year, the Center has seen a lot of use since its grand opening. This year, Sunshine Heroes provided resources to launch an additional summer camp and after-school programs to benefit the children in Bastimentos. More than 100 children have already participated in these programs. As we anticipate the impact of this Sunshine Center to grow, in August additional funding was granted to expand the center to include an outside pavilion, bathroom and clean water station. Bastimentos continues to be one of the most impactful Sunshine Centers, which led to the decision to open another one!

Sunshine Heroes has partnered again with Give & Surf to construct a new Sunshine Center in Bocas Del Toro to provide the community with educational programs proven to reduce the rate of youth crime, plus learning resources, a safe outdoor playground and programs that teach hygiene, sanitation, healthy eating habits and vocational training. Most important, the center will act as a safe place for children to be after school.

Through this new center, we hope to give the children of Bocas Del Toro the tools to build a brighter future.

Children’s Justice Center renovations Children’s Justice Center in Provo, Utah to receive much needed renovations This April in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Sunshine Heroes has partnered with Utah Valley Home Builders Association (UVHBA) to remodel the kitchen and main reception area of the Provo Children’s Justice Center. Serving nearly a thousand children each year, this center provides a safe space for children to be interviewed after they’ve been the victim of abuse. We appreciate the dedication of the Children’s Justice Center in providing love and support for the children of our community and are happy to offer continued support.

Q1 SuperStars ERIC DAVIS Process Operator II Eric is a fantastic employee who has grown significantly in his professional career and contributed to the overall success of our company this past year by embodying company culture. He recently attended the Champions of Operational Excellence class and the Safety Star Class, and he is working towards Bronze Certification. Eric has taken the skills learned in the class and implemented them, taking the manufacturing Kaizen process to a new level by conducting training, presenting and creating new templates. With these templates Eric has engaged the manufacturing employees through the new process of announcing improvement ideas through Kaizen spotlights. This has led to the following improvements: Ace line efficiency gains, Liquid line safety and efficiency gains, Packaging communication and audit readiness improvements, and Oracle process communication improvements.

Within the department Eric has also helped create a more rigorous PM program for the stick pack machines. This will save thousands of dollars in repairs while allowing for a lower risk in customer disruptions from stick pack.

Eric has also helped create Job Breakdown sheets for processes of cleaning and setting up the machinery in the Stick Pack area.

Hired on September 14, 1998, Eric reports to Tim Burke and has been with the company for 19 years, 7 months.

ORLEAN MCGLONE Lead Worker – Packaging Orlean is a very motivated employee who is willing to do whatever it takes to give our customers high quality products on time. Orlean has played a key part in developing Job Breakdown procedures for all of the solid dose lines, creating better standard procedures for them. She is Bronze Certified through our Champions of Operational Excellence class, and she is currently working on her certification for the Safety Star Program. Orlean’s coworkers have noticed the great work ethic and attitude she brings to work every day. She is a proactive employee who is always looking for ways to make improvements before being asked, and her dedication has increased our manufacturing output while making NSP a safer place to work.

Hired on November 4, 2013, Orlean reports to Brianna Wilding and has been with the company for 4 years, 6 months.

STETSON MORRIS Assistant Corporate Controller Stetson is the perfect example of someone who embodies NSP’s company culture. Since joining the accounting team, he has filled many roles and excelled at each task. He is often called upon to take on projects that are not his own responsibilities, and he fulfills them without complaint.

Stetson is a critical part of the accounting team, and he embodies the attitude and personality of a person in leadership. He is patient, innovative, hard-working, a great listener and positive. He works and communicates well both with his employees and the markets around the world to ensure that processes are followed to create efficiencies for the company.

Stetson works massive hours to ensure that the quarterly and annual financial reports are filed in a timely manner, always maintains a great attitude with the people around him, and actively comes up with new ideas to create efficiencies in the workplace that save the company time. Stetson is dependable, flexible, and has a willingness to learn and adapt. His leadership also improves morale and decreases employee turnover, which retains the company’s most valuable resource, its people!

NATURE’S SUNSHINE PRODUCTS APPOINTS RICHARD D. MOSS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS LEHI, Utah, May 30, 2018—Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc. (NASDAQ:NATR), a leading natural health and wellness company engaged in the manufacture and direct sale of premium-quality nutritional and personal care products, today announced the appointment of Richard D. Moss as a member of its Board of Directors. Mr. Moss is a senior finance executive with extensive experience in corporate finance, tax, risk management, and strategy in consumerproduct and health care related businesses.

Mr. Moss was most recently Chief Financial Officer at Hanesbrands Inc., a leading Fortune 500 apparel company, where he served in that capacity from 2011 until October, 2017, after which Mr. Moss remained at Hanesbrands in an advisory role until his retirement on December 31, 2017. He also led several financial functions, including treasury and tax, at Hanesbrands from 2006 to 2011. Prior to joining Hanesbrands, Mr. Moss was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2002 to 2005 for Chattem Inc., which markets over-the-counter branded personal care products and dietary supplements, including skin care and pain treatments such as Aspercreme, Cortizone-10, Icy Hot, and Pamprin. Mr. Moss has also worked extensively in a variety of industries in his career, from consumer products to banking to transportation, including such companies as Sealy Corporation, Saturn Corporation (a General Motors subsidiary), and First American National Bank. Mr. Moss received his B.A. and MBA from Brigham Young University.

We firmly believe in the potential and bright future of Nature’s Sunshine China, and we look forward to embracing an exciting new year!

e’re already off to a good start with our first Nature’s Seminar of 2018, held March 15-16 with approximately 1,000 distributors in attendance. Former Nature’s Sunshine CSO, Dr. Matthew Tripp, and CMO, Adriana Mendizabal, were both in attendance to demonstrate the wonderful support we feel from our corporate headquarters. Top global distributor, Mr. Hwang, shared his experience with the company, exciting many of our Chinese Distributors. Attendees also heard from our local partner Fosun Pharma, which enhanced loyalty to our company.

Our Nature’s Seminar featured wonderful branding, an impressive Sunshine Party that taught our distributors to play as hard as they work, and a special strategy and planning update from Henry Zhou, Managing Director of China. Henry’s update on the China market helped convince them that NSP China is leading direct selling to a new era. Other highlights included new product training provided

by Dr. Tripp and special recognition of successful distributors.

We’re grateful to our NSP Team for the wonderful support they gave throughout the event, and we know that working together for such an event helps strengthen and build our team for the future.

Russia/CEE Message from Bryant Yates The RCEE region continues to experience growth as the exchange rates in Russia and other key markets in the area have stabilized. With more economic stability, distributors have responded by holding record amounts of meetings, leading to increased new sign-ups and other key business-building metrics. Their efforts are leading to expansion into the Siberian region with promising results.

We’re seeing positive growth and rank advancement throughout the region, including Marek and Barbara Wiebiolwicz of Poland, who were recognized at Poland’s annual event as the fastest to rise to our highest rank in the region. I love seeing the energy and effort being put forth by our leaders and distributors, as their work gives me great confidence in our business and our future.

Poland NSP Poland held its annual Winter Conference in Warsaw this past January and recognized its first-ever top rank advancement as Barbara and Marek Wierbiłowicz became Poland’s first Board Directors. With 500 distributors in attendance, the conference was Poland’s biggest and most successful event ever.

Smaller meetings have also gained traction with the introduction of NSP Open Trainings, which have been held across eastern Europe throughout the first quarter. Over 190 meetings took place in Q1, including Poland’s first conference in Estonia. Additionally, Poland introduced 5 new targeted kits in the first quarter, Pro Senior, Pro Immune, Pro Cardio, Optimum and Woman, which have quickly become the hottest items in their product offering.

Russia/CIS Nature’s Sunshine RCEE has enjoyed a wonderful start to the new year with an incredible boost of energy, inspiration and knowledge provided through numerous gatherings of NSP friends and distributors across the region.

The Health Marathon started by Odessa’s top achievers in the Ukraine has been a highlight of our first quarter.

This activity spread from the Ukraine to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Moldova before returning to Russia and the Ukraine. Each event has been a truly inspiring gathering of international participants who have shared new ideas and strategies to help each other achieve greater heights of health, growth and success.

Additionally, leaders from our Russia offices have been traveling with top achievers from November 2017 to April of this year. These leaders have accompanied top Directors throughout the marketplace to provide support and better understand the needs of both our distributors and their customers. This has been wellreceived by the field with many participants commenting on the excitement and energy this has brought to their business efforts.

“It’s that feeling you get when you realize that you’re in the right place, surrounded by the best people who are helping you be your best. It’s an overwhelming emotion,” said Olga Sereda of Belarus.

Other RCEE highlights: • Top Directors in Belarus held an annual celebration in Minsk with the theme, “In Love with NSP.” With a focus on developing and improving leadership, this year’s celebration featured lots of red as the color of true leaders.

• Moldova’s younger generation of leaders continued to impress at the Moldova Forum.

• The first Forum in Tyumen gave us a new perspective for the future of NSP in Siberia, Russia.

NSP AMERICAS Message from Adriana Mendizábal Our theme for 2018 is the 4 R’s: Recover, Reinvent, Repurpose and Reinvest. NSP Americas’ first quarter has been critical, as we launched key efforts to recover the momentum we had been enjoying with 11 consecutive quarters of growth prior to the 2017 Oracle implementation.

Our teams are energized and ready to move forward to accomplish our 4 R’s.

Recover We’ve sought to recover our customer and distributor base following the Oracle implementation by re-engaging the field and creating productive business rhythms early in the year. We’ve done this through: • Continuing our win-back campaigns •F inishing the 2017-18 I-Insire Baltic cruise • Holding 56 meetings with 2,209 attendees, qualifications with tremendous results, despite approximately 3% more than the prior year the Oracle implementation • Attracting 4,649 attendees for a massive — Our Top 200 performers grew their businesses by 22% Education Week & the top 800 top performers grew by 24% Reinvent Our passion for and commitment to sharing Nature’s Sunshine knows no bounds, and we are very excited for the progress we’ve achieved in the first quarter. Working in close collaboration with our leaders to ensure adoption and success, we’ve been developing new ways of growing the business via duplicable DMOs and customer acquisition.

We have: • Continued to refine the Health 2 Home duplication meetings with encouraging early results. This message has resonated with the field across the different ranks, as distributors have engaged and committed to bring Nature’s Sunshine herbs and prosperity to every home. Beta testing will continue until we formally launch the program at the US 2018 Convention in September.

• Launched our new Distributor Growth Committee comprised of fast-growing distributors and influential leaders aimed at ensuring alignment and support on key growth initiatives.

• Started efforts to enhance our digital platforms and grow our business by attracting new customers. Our opportunities in this exciting channel are tremendous, and we look forward to introducing significant new features at Convention 2018.

Repurpose We are carefully assessing our resource allocation on an ongoing basis. This disciplined approach has allowed us to Reinvest in future growth initiatives, and we will continue monitoring our resources and opportunities to capitalize on the most promising and productive prospects throughout the year.

We have immense confidence that NSP Americas will RISE and recover growth in 2018.

Canada Back to Basics Tour – January 2018 January may have been cold across Canada, but on January 20–25, things were heating up with our Back to Basics Tour! Managing Director, Jennifer Cole, along with Platinum Manager, Vivian O’Neill, toured 5 cities, including Belleville,

Winnipeg, Kelowna, St. Albert and Red Deer, to speak about getting Back to Basics. No amount of snow would stop people from coming out to learn more about Nature’s Sunshine products and how to get their health back on track.

With a tremendous turnout in every city, we’re excited to go back on the road again in the second quarter.

Colombia NSP Colombia was visited by ACOVEDI, their local version of the Direct Selling Agency, and were presented with the ACOVEDI Ethics Code Certification. This was the first time that 100% of the Colombia team was certified, and every employee personally received their certification diploma from Patricia Cerra, CEO of ACODEVI. This certification means a lot for both our office and our distributors in the field.

Mexico 2018 saw the first ever Nature’s Sunshine Essential Tour visit eight locations across the Mexican Republic, including Monterrey, Pachuca, CDMX, Cd Juárez, Puebla, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz and Chihuahua. This tour was a great success.

Eva Obregón, who graduated in Natural Medicine from the Intercontinental University and has a Master’s degree in Natural Biological Studies from the Universidad de León in Spain, headlined the tour. Having participated on the team that established the Standard of Labor Competence for therapeutic massage practitioners, Eva is a specialist in aromatherapy, and she shared presentations on the use and application of Nature’s Sunshine’s Essential oils.

Attendees took advantage of exclusive promotions and had the opportunity to receive surprise gifts that were raffled off. We’re so grateful for the wonderful response and participation at each of the locations we visited.

Due to the attendance and interest expressed by our distributors, it’s very likely that we will do more Essential Tours and look forward to continuing this successful event.

Ecuador Ecuador closed Q1 with an outstanding sales cycle thanks in part to the January launch of the international convention “Orlando”.

Having this destination in mind has kept our distributors focused and working hard to qualify for the trip throughout the year. Our national convention launch event targeted at the Coordinator’s Team has also had a strong acceptance and response.

February was highlighted by nationwide field visits, a key activity for showing our support of the field and providing product and business training with them. In March we relaunched our Managers School to supply MLM tools and training to help dedicated business builders duplicate their business and bring in more new members.

These meetings are essential to encouraging and helping our leadership maintain their focus on growing their business and sharing the Nature’s Sunshine opportunity with individuals across the country.

Synergy Worldwide Message from Dan Norman This year is off to a great start as our Asian markets had a wonderful first quarter, adding one new Presidential Executive and one new Double Presidential Executive in Korea. These new advancements are indicative of the fire that Synergy is experiencing right now as our teams continue to transform lives around the world. We are anticipating continuous growth, and with this growth comes even more chances to reward those working tirelessly to lead Synergy into the future.

A major part of Synergy’s mission is to leave a legacy of service, and we do this by incorporating humanitarian projects into many of our company events. Just last month, while celebrating success at the 2018 Legacy Retreat in Fiji, our top leaders gave of their time and energy to restore a schoolhouse for local Fijian children. This was a great day that many attendees called the best day of the whole retreat. After this experience, I am personally encouraged to look for more occasions to give back, and I’m sure our distributor leaders feel the same way.

I am confident that this year will be remembered not only as a year of innovation and improvement for Synergy, but also of supporting those in need. The strength and kindness our leaders generously display as they assist others highlights exactly what Synergy Worldwide is all about.

Synergy’s Top Leaders Gather in Fiji for Legacy Retreat Fiji was the chosen rally point for the most prestigious retreat of the year. Perfectly positioned in the South Pacific Ocean, Fiji made for the ideal getaway with its pristine beaches, deluxe accommodations, friendly locals, unique culture and once-in-a-lifetime activities that will not soon be forgotten.

Synergy leaders enjoyed rafting and relaxing, paddling and putting, snorkeling and spas. The weather was perfect, and the energy was high.

While the activities and adventures were extraordinary, the third day of the retreat was especially memorable.

Synergy leaders, wearing “Leave a Legacy” T-shirts, volunteered to paint a local schoolhouse in need.

Connecting with the Fijian people further, the group spent time not only painting, but also playing games with kids. Leaders also gifted the children with small treats and school supplies.

Seeing leaders put the Synergy mission into action was a wonderful sight, and the children in the community were visibly grateful. We are proud of the kindness everyone displayed while striving to support the Fijian community and give back. Synergy leaders left a legacy in Fiji that will be remembered for many years to come.
