NETWORKING IN RED Our brunch is a space where women are able to network and celebrate each other. Annually the National Women's Empowerment Ministry brunch with this empowered purpose. We are excited about our 2022 Brunch and Retreat hosted at the Hotel At Avalon. The Red Dress Brunch Experience, a weekend filled with empowered networking through the most popular networking circuits for women. From Education, to Communications & Entertainment, to Women in Business through Careers or Entrepreneurship and lastly Politics and Government, our faith based community is here to propel women to the next level.

What sets us apart from other women organizations is that due to our collaborative leadership style and culture, the Women’s Empowerment Ministry embraces true Christcentered relationships that are called to serve, build up other women, and strengthen the women community.

FOUNDERS NOTE

Growing up I always knew that I was a leader and that I would be influential one day in my community. I just did not know how. As I began to serve in the church growing up, God gave me a heart for Women’s Ministry. And I understood that what a woman does comes from whom she believes she is. I believed that although I had struggles in my career, understanding how to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a mentor, and a leader in the church, my destiny was tied to helping other women discover their God-given purpose and talents to impact the church and the world. My struggles led me on a journey to discover my own power through learning and exposure. And believe it or not, this is why I believe "we are empowered by what we learn and what we are exposed to. I thank God daily for the journey he took me on for empowered discovery. Currently, I serve serve as Executive Pastor alongside my husband, Senior Pastor Tony Cash of Global Leadership Christian Center. I am the CEO of Jackson HR & Administrative Services LLC, Ydennek Girls Who Lead Mentoring Program, and Founder Of The National Women’s Empowerment Ministry. And though all of these organizations I am in the business of serving women and Girl, which is my empowered pleasure.

The Woman of Power Award is the National Women's Empowerment Ministry's highest women's empowerment award that recognizes the woman who has made the greatest stride in redefining influence and is changing the way our country thinks about women leading across multiple platforms.

Jayne Morgan, M.D. is a Cardiologist and the Executive Director of the Covid Task Force at the Piedmont Healthcare Corporation in Atlanta, GA, the largest healthcare system in Georgia. Within this role she serves as the system Covid vaccine expert, analyzing the science and data from Piedmont and nationally, drives efforts at addressing vaccine hesitancy via education to internal staff, external stakeholders, media, and the greater external community. Dr. Morgan has been named to the Health Equity and Covid Task Force for the Governor of the state of Georgia and selected to support the Department of Health in its series of “Ask The Experts”. Additionally, she serves as a CNN medical expert contributor and is the owner and creator of The Stairwell Chronicles - a social media series directed towards addressing questions surrounding Covid vaccines in a conversational format. Dr. Morgan currently serves as the President of the Southeast Life Sciences Association (single largest biotech association in the Southeast), an adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at The Morehouse School of Medicine, Co-Chair of the Health and Human Services Conference 2022, Board Member of the National Diversity and Inclusion team at the American Heart Association.

The Collaboration Award

Ms. Nelly Miles has worked for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for 22 years. She is the Public & Governmental Affairs Director, acting as a public information liaison between the GBI and the public. She is also the legislative liaison to Georgia's legislature and the Governor's Office. Nelly earned her Chemistry degree from Emory University and began working as a Forensic Chemist, eventually promoted to Forensic Chemistry Manager.

Nelly made a leap from the sciences to communications and policy in 2015. In 2021, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police presented Nelly and Natalie an award for excellence in the field. Nelly is a Board Member on Emory University’s Board of Visitors. She is also a member of several organizations, including the Georgia Association of Women in Public Safety and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

She lives in Stockbridge, GA with her husband and three children.

Ms. Natalie L. Ammons has been with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for over 28 years and is currently the Deputy Director of Public and Governmental Affairs, appointed in June 2018. In this role , she assists the Public and Governmental Affairs Director in coordinating all aspects of media and public relations for the GBI. Additionally, she serves as a legislative liaison to Georgia's legislature and the Governor's Office on behalf of the agency.

Professionally, Ms. Ammons is a member of numerous organizations including the Georgia Association of Women in Public Safety, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Personally, she is a member of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, Filipino-American Association of Greater Atlanta, and Rotary Club of South DeKalb.

She currently resides in DeKalb County, GA and has one adult daughter, Tatiana Madrid Wright.

Journey Forward Strategies is a solutions-focused consulting firm that specializes in leadership development and organization effectiveness. Working with Fortune 500 corporations, private companies and the not-for-profit sector, Shan leverages over 30 years of diverse experience and expertise to deliver sustainable results for her clients. Shan is the former Executive Director for the Atlanta Committee for Progress (ACP). The ACP was founded in 2003 to serve as the Mayor of Atlanta’s external advisory board with a mission to provide leadership on key issues important to economic growth and inclusion for all Atlanta citizens. Shan is the former Chief Transformation Officer of WestRock and was responsible for developing infrastructure capabilities and system processes needed for business growth in a fast-paced merger and acquisition environment. Prior to joining WestRock, Shan served as the Vice President and General Manager of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. Shan currently serves on the corporate Board of Directors for Atlantic Capital Bancshares, Inc., Georgia Power Company, Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., and Veritiv Corporation. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for Grady Health System and the Board of Trustees for Emory University. Shan is also on the Board of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), Georgia Historical Society, Georgia Music Accord, and Zoo Atlanta and is a member of the Atlanta Rotary Club and a Life Member of the Board of Councilors for The Carter Center. Shan was awarded the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2021 Women of Influence Lifetime Achievement Award; named Georgia Trend Magazine’s 2015 Most Respected Business Leader; the 2015 Woman of the Year by the American Association of University Women; as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Georgians in 2012 - 2016, 2020 and 2021; and as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Power 100 in 2019 – 2021. Shan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Religion from Emory University and a Master of Business Administration from the Roberto Goizueta Business School of Emory University. In addition, she holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Global Human Resources from Rutgers University.

Dr. Herring began her position at Atlanta Public Schools on July 1, 2020, coming home to make a difference in the state that raised her, and in the city that made her an educator.

A Macon, GA, native and graduate of Spelman College, the Univ. of South Carolina, and Georgia Southern Univ., Dr. Herring’s enduring career includes experience in both public and private, and urban and rural settings, notably serving as Superintendent of Birmingham City Schools, Chief Academic Officer for Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, KY, and Deputy Superintendent of Academics for the Charleston County (SC) School District.

She is known for stewarding districts towards equitable, measurable, and accountable improvements impacting the lives of students from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

Dr. Herring recognizes the inner strength and talent of all children and believes educators must meet each student at their beginning and guide them in the direction of their purpose.

Cheryl Watson-Harris is an exceptional education leader and equity warrior who brought nearly three decades of experience and success to her role as the past Superintendent of DeKalb County Schools. She has been and continues to be a champion for children, drawing praise for her innovative leadership style that improves both employee engagement and morale throughout the school system and positively impacts student achievement. Throughout her 29-year career as an educator, administrator, and community leader, she has demonstrated outstanding skills and knowledge of teaching and learning, professional development, and policy implementation, as well as a collaborative leadership style that consistently strives for excellence.

Prior to joining DeKalb County Schools, Watson-Harris served as the First Deputy Chancellor. In that position, she served a diverse cohort of 1.1 million students. A New York City native, Watson-Harris started her teaching career in 1993 in Brooklyn, served as a principal in Boston for 15 years, and was a Network Superintendent for Boston Public Schools from 2013 to 2015 before joining the New York City Department of Education.

Watson-Harris earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York, and a Master's in Education from Harvard University. She is currently a doctoral student at New York University with an anticipated completion date of 2022, with a doctorate in educational leadership and innovation. Throughout her career, Watson-Harris has always been driven by her belief that every child deserves a great school and has remained unapologetic in her pursuit to ensure all students are set on the pathway to success. .

Inspirational Woman Of The Year AWARD

Coylitia Williamson O'Neal is a native of Athens, GA and currently resides in the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizations Management and Keller Graduate School of Management with a Masters in Business Administration in Human Resource Management. She has over twenty five years of experience in both the long-term care and the funeral service industries. Coylitia is currently involved in several entrepreneurial and ministry endeavors. She is the Lead Pastor of Global Impact Christian Ministries in Stockbridge, GA. As a second-generation business owner, she upholds the mantle passed by her father, the late Coy C. Williamson, Jr. She lives by the scripture, “unto whomsoever much is given, much is required” and is affiliated with numerous civic and professional organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Advancing Families Foundation, and Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation. Coylitia has previously served on Clayton County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Atlanta Technical College – Continuing Education Advisory Committee and Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation Board.

Coylitia is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including: City of Stockbridge - Visionary Women: Celebrating You, National Women’s History Month Award, Let’s Talk America Community Service Award, Clayton County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year Award and the Gospel Choice Awards – Leading Ladies.

While obligations to professional, civic and ministerial commitments are important, Coylitia maintains that her primary commitment is to her family.

She is a loving mother to her two children: son, Spencer II (Stone) and daughter, Bethany.

Nancy J. Lewis is a leading inspirational keynote speaker, trainer, author, marketplace evangelist and registered corporate coach. She is the president of Progressive Techniques, Inc. based in Fayetteville, Georgia. The theme of her organization is “Developing a Better YOU!” She earned a M.S. degree from Georgia State University in Urban and Public Affairs with concentration in Human Resources. Nancy has worked as an adjunct faculty instructor at Georgia State University where she taught an undergraduate Human Resources course. She has been speaking and conducting training for 30 years. Nancy is a former Dale Carnegie instructor. Nancy conducts dynamic keynotes and seminars on leadership, diversity & inclusion, change management, emotional intelligence and personal development. Sharnel leads the Mahogany Writing Community and manages the team and its contributors. She works remotely from her home outside Atlanta, Georgia, where she lives with her husband. She is a graduate of the GREAT Bethune-Cookman University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Business Analytics from Mercer University. The website is devoted to supporting and connecting Black women emotionally and with cultural authenticity. In this virtual space, real voices are used to share joys, sorrows, lessons learned and lift each other up.

EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION AWARD Dr. Nathalie Means Henderson currently serves as the Chief Schools’ Officer for Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), the largest school district in Indiana. She joined IPS in this role in February 2020 . Prior to this role, she served as Area Superintendent of the Central Learning Community for Fulton County Schools in Atlanta, Georgia for 3.5 years where she supervised and supported 18 schools & 15,000 students. During her tenure in this role, she made several notable accomplishments: - the number of schools in her learning community labeled “F” were reduced from 6 to 1 - 100% of schools were removed from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) Turnaround Eligible Schools List - 100% of high schools increased their graduation rates Dr. Henderson has also served as an Instructional Leadership Director for the Oklahoma City Public Schools and with the St. Louis Public Schools for twelve years as principal, assistant principal, and special education teacher.

Based on her track record of improving student outcomes , presenting and speaking nationally, Dr. Henderson started Henderson Group Consulting, LLC where she offers consulting services in K-12 school improvement , executive coaching and strategic career management.

Dr. Henderson earned a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, an Ed.S. from the University of MissouriColumbia, an M.Ed from the University of Missouri- St. Louis and a B.A. from Spelman College.

She is a North Carolina native, 4th generation HBCU alumna, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and serves on the Marian University School Leadership Advisory Council , Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis Board of Directors and Teachers’ Treasures Indy Board of Directors .
