A Holistic Education: Extracurricular Activities
Clubs At NSW
Roughly once a week, students at Nativity Worcester participate in one of the following clubs:
Cooking & Baking Club
Chess and Board Games
Nativity Broadcasting Club (NBC)
Drawing and Creative Writing
Movie Review
Sculpting
Smoothie Crafting

These clubs help students learn what their interests are outside of the normal academic classes. These clubs happen in school, during school hours, and are run by our own staff and faculty. This year, we have more clubs than ever thanks to our faculty who volunteer to run these activities!

Expanding Opportunities In Athletics
“Sports at Nativity to me means fun. It means time with your friends. It’s a safe place after school to stay active and try new sports. You feel more like a part of the community as you experience championships, games, and meets together.” - Demetrius Safford '11, Athletic Director

Nativity Worcester offers various sports throughout the calendar year, beginning with basketball through the winter, baseball and track in the Spring, and soccer and cross country in the fall. In March of 2024, we celebrated our Knights winning the league championship for the second year in a row! The spring brought more success as we participated in track meets and baseball games, bringing home our first baseball win in over 10 years. By fall, we welcomed our first co-ed teams at Nativity Worcester, with our girls running on the cross country team and playing on the soccer team. Both teams had successful seasons, and we look forward to more years of co-ed teams!

EMPOWERING THE FIRST NATIVITY WOMEN: GIRLS INC PARTNERSHIP

“At GIW, one thing that we focus on is ensuring girls know that they are valuable and what they go through matters…we want them to be strong, smart and bold. We offer them the space they need when they may come in with the stress of the world on their shoulders. We offer a space for them to be themselves with no judgment.” - Jessica Diaz
In the fall of 2023, Nativity Worcester reached out to Girls Inc. with the hope of partnering with them to run our after-school program for our girls. This partnership officially started in fall of 2024; the girls are at Girls Inc. of Worcester Monday through Thursday as part of their school day with an optional program on Fridays. Nativity Girls receive all the programming that is open to everyone at Girls Inc. They begin with a minimum 30 minute homework block that involves staff and volunteers assisting the girls with their homework on a daily basis. After completing their homework, the girls choose an activity to participate in from the following options: cooking lab, gym with physical activities, swimming with their friends, art, games, and even health and beauty lessons on how to take care of their hair, make-up, nails.
