2024 ANNUAL REPORT

DEAR
SUPPORTERS AND FRIENDS,
As I reflect on a historic year at Nativity Worcester, I am filled with gratitude for the generosity and unwavering dedication of our supporters and community. Nativity is more than just a school—it is a place of opportunity and transformation. Each year, we see what is possible when individuals come together, united by a shared belief in the potential of every student who walks through our doors.
With the opening of the Julie Power Girls Division in 2024 and how far Nativity Worcester has come, I think of all the trailblazers who have made the impactful work of this school possible. Our earliest supporters and founders, former and current staff, dedicated benefactors and volunteers, and our many wonderful families, have all been trailblazers who have given so much to support our students and graduates, and expand our impact. From our humble beginnings in the basement of All Saints Church in 2003 to the establishment of the Julie Power Girls Division 21 years later, this progress has been made possible by trailblazers and those willing to go above and beyond. I am incredibly grateful to those who have come before us and who continue to walk alongside our community, building upon a foundation of excellence and a Jesuit education that is unlike any other.
Today, we’re seeing the fruits of many years of hard work and generosity. We are seeing our graduates and students, including our first 29 Nativity Women, become trailblazers who will go out and make a difference in our world. We have immense appreciation for you and what we have accomplished together. At Nativity, there is so much excitement for the road ahead. With your continued partnership, we will remain steadfast in our mission to develop the mind, heart, and spirit of our students. Together, we will ensure that Nativity continues to be a place where students’ dreams are nurtured, lives are transformed, and there is access to a high quality education for all.
Together, we have grown the impact of our school, and it is an honor to share our success and story of trailblazers with you in our annual report. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Your belief in our mission and your generous partnership make all of this possible.
With Gratitude,
Tom McKenney President
OPENING OF THE JULIE POWER GIRLS DIVISION

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Nativity staff, alumni, families, and trustees, along with the incredible generosity of donors who have fueled our $20 million campaign, Access and Impact: The Campaign for Nativity Worcester, we were proud to open the Julie Power Girls Division on July 8th, 2024. This division now provides the first tuition-free, private education for girls in Central Massachusetts!
Today, access to a quality education for girls from under-resourced communities is one of the most pressing challenges facing young people and our society. That’s why we are thrilled to now educate both boys and girls during such a formative time in their lives. Our new co-divisional model ensures that every student experiences the best of both worlds: rigorous, single-sex academics and integrated social and extracurricular experiences. We look forward to seeing our Nativity Men and Women develop into the leaders of tomorrow!

“I hope that [my sister] finds something that she really loves and starts working towards that, because that’s the one thing I was able to do here, and I hope that she gets the experience that I got.”

“Being a member of one of the first girls classes of Nativity makes me feel honored and special to have this opportunity brought to me… I want to leave a legacy here.”

GIRLS DIVISION
Grand Opening Event

On October 9, 2024, we marked the official opening of the Julie Power Girls Division with a ribbon cutting ceremony in the Briggs Gymnasium. We celebrated this important milestone in Nativity’s history by unveiling a plaque to honor the J.D. Power Family whose transformative gift to name the Girls Division propelled our campaign forward. We also celebrated the naming of the Esler Family Foundation lobby with Campaign Committee members, John and Jeanne Esler. John and Jeanne have been a true example of trailblazers in our donor community as the first major donor to the Campaign, ultimately serving as the catalyst gift to making the Girls Division a reality.

“We are honored to support the establishment of the Julie Power Girls Division at Nativity School of Worcester, inspired by our mother, Julie’s lifelong dedication to education and her passion for creating opportunities for young women. This initiative embodies our family’s commitment to providing a transformative educational experience with the goal of empowering these students to become tomorrow’s leaders. We know our father, a Worcester native, would be so pleased to honor Julie in this way.”

LINSEY REYES BETANCOURTH

NATIVITY'S FIRST EVER STUDENT OF THE WEEK
For 21 years, Nativity Worcester has given out a “Nativity Man of the Week” award as recognition for the student who most embodied our four pillars - strength, scholarship, service, and character. This year, with the addition of the Julie Power Girls Division, we officially changed the award to “Nativity Student of the Week,” and had our first girl recipient of this distinction. On September 23, 2024, Linsey Reyes Betancourth of our Bowman Class of 2028 was named the first Nativity Student of the Week of the Girls Division. Congratulations to Linsey, for making history!
PILLAR AWARDS
On Thursday, May 23, 2024, we held our annual Pillar Awards at Nativity Worcester. The Pillar Awards, selected by the school's faculty and staff, recognize students who best reflect Nativity's four pillars — Strength (Vires), Scholarship (Studium), Character (Mores), and Service (Christianitas). Awards are given for three of the pillars to one student from the eighth grade, and one student from the fifth-, sixth-, or seventh-grade, while the final pillar award of scholarship is presented to one student from all four classes. The Spirit Award is presented during the graduation ceremony to a member of the eighth grade class who has exemplified what it means to be a Nativity Student on countless occasions during his or her time at Nativity Worcester.

“To me, being a Nativity student means following the four pillars all the time. Those pillars are important to me because it helps me become not just a better student but a better person.”

ACCESS TO Opportunity
In an effort to encourage everyone in our community to pursue their academic interests, we partner with several organizations that provide educationally rich opportunities to our students and staff. From robotics demonstrations to math instructional coaching, we aim to provide a unique, high quality learning experience and open doors of opportunity for both students and staff.

“All of my teachers have taught me different stuff, and I don’t mean just educational school stuff. I mean life lessons and things to remember and use later in life, not just here. Being at Nativity has made me a better student, and an even better person.”

Investing in OUR STUDENTS

BOSTON COLLEGE PINE MANOR ACADEMY PROGRAM
We have partnered with Boston College to enroll 2 to 4 rising eighth graders each year in their Academy of Pine Manor Institute for Student Success. This is a cost-free enrichment program that follows students from grade 8 to grade 12, consisting of year-round academic support from personal BC Success Coaches and a residential Summer Enrichment Program at BC’s campus. Each summer, students have the opportunity to live in the residence halls; they begin with one week in 8th grade and can go up to six weeks by 12th grade.
“Nativity has given me a greater accessibility to a higher form of education that would have been simply out of reach or out of mind had I not gone to Nativity.”
NIK GARCIA-RAMIREZ Ellacuria Class of 2023
THE FUTURE OF STEM: TRUE ROBOTICS

True Robotics, a small business in Worcester, came into our 8th grade Swamy on May 1st, 2024 to show off the world of robots. As an organization, they seek to make STEM disciplines more accessible through innovative robotics kits, an evidence-based curriculum, and comprehensive training services. We were grateful for their visit and look forward to partnering with them in the future to help develop our students into future engineers!

“My favorite things from the program were the little moments when we weren’t doing anything. They let us bond through small talk and it led to some funny interactions. I, personally, think if you get nominated you should go because not only does this give you a new opportunity, it helps you out there in the world. P.S. The food is really good.”

TOWER HILL PARTNERSHIP & CURRICULUM
Tower Hill reached out to us in the fall of 2023 to introduce their Growing Green Program, and thanks to the generosity of a donor, we were able to purchase the program for our 5th and 6th grade classes. The purpose of the Growing Green Program was to get students in Worcester more involved with and knowledgeable about sustainability and green energy within the city. They visited our school three times, teaching two classes of 5th and 6th graders each time. The students appreciated their expertise in this very current topic. They spoke with students about heat islands in cities, sustainable planning, pollution in our water systems, and walked them through the engineering design process. They also offered us free tickets to the Botanic Garden for participating so we could explore their grounds!

“One thing I would tell the students who are selected to participate in this program and are deciding whether or not to do it is to give it a chance. On my first summer there I wanted to go home instantly, not even giving it a chance, but as I eased into the program I wished that I could go back there.”

RISING 3RD YEAR
“My advice to younger students? Do it. It has honestly pushed me out of my comfort zone, and allowed me to be more social. It is a good experience and you will like it. I have personally made many memories there and friends that I keep in touch with.”

Investing in OUR EDUCATORS
We prioritize the personal development of our educators to provide the best learning experience possible for our students at Nativity Worcester.

A HARVARD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In February 2024, our leadership team attended a professional development course run by the school of education at Harvard University. The purpose of this professional development was for our school to be able to use Instructional Rounds to cultivate high-quality learning in our school. Our educators in attendance left with a greater understanding of how to improve student learning outcomes, noting that it is in direct correlation with an improvement of the level of content, teachers' knowledge and skill, and student engagement. We will begin the process of fully instituting Instructional Rounds in order to get a deeper understanding of teaching and learning at Nativity Worcester. throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.

MATH EMPOWERED
This November, our Math Department Head, Dr. Dana Harthorne, enrolled in a cohort of educators to be trained in the Math Empowered Instructional Approach. Math Empowered is a New Hampshire based organization that aims to foster collaboration amongst educators to change the historic inequities in mathematics and empower all students as mathematicians. In their training, they help math teachers build “thinking classrooms.” This new concept entails creating an environment that does not make engaging tasks for students to think about, but rather to build engaged students that are willing to think about any task. Thanks to the generosity of one of our partner foundations that has asked to remain anonymous, we are able to enroll Dr. Harthorne in this program and implement this style of teaching at Nativity Worcester.

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS A COMMUNITY
“What does it mean to be a Nativity student? It means I get to be greeted every morning with a handshake and a ‘good morning!’ It means that I get to go to class and come out with the best education. It means that I get to experience the fun events that they host…That’s what it means to be a Nativity student.”

OF TRAILBLAZERS

Here at Nativity Worcester we aim to foster a community of trailblazers for our students, graduates, staff and larger Nativity community. This historic year for the school was made possible only through our community of leaders who have truly paved the way for the future of Nativity
Worcester. From our first two classes of girls, navigating a school that is in a state of change as it adapts to a codivisional model, to first generation college students and Power 100 leaders who are exploring uncharted territories, challenging norms, and creating new paths.
“Nativity is a family who supports you through your ups and downs and I’m thankful for being a part of that family.”

Community Highlights PAVING THE WAY
THE EBO AND BOWMAN CLASSES MAKE HISTORY
Our trailblazer girls have seen a lot of firsts for Nativity. From newly designed uniforms to an off-site after school program, our girls have courageously tackled new territory for Nativity Worcester, with no older classes to lean on for guidance. To help support the girls in our Julie Power Girls Division during its opening year, our staff and faculty participated in several professional development seminars focused on gender-specific programming. These were led by organizations like Girls Inc. of Worcester and Mass NOW.
“Everywhere you look you can always get support here. Whether it’s from your friends or your teachers, they will always help you. Even if I am sad or angry, I know that there will always be a person to lift me up at Nativity”
KATHRYN HINN Ebo Class of 2027

“Nativity has never felt like just a school; it is a community. Throughout my son’s time here, I had the honor of witnessing the unyielding dedication to the young men who attended and the long-lasting impact being a Nativity Man has had on themselves and their communities. In addition to my son being a graduate, I am excited to see the girls division come to fruition in time for my daughter to be a part of this amazing community.”

BAZARIAN
In April of 2024, Worcester Business Journal named our very own principal, Andrea Bazarian, as one of Worcester’s “Power 100” for her 10 years of dedication and service to Nativity Worcester. Congratulations and thank you, Mrs. Bazarian, for your incredible leadership and dedication to our students and mission!
“The Nativity school of Worcester has turned my daughter’s life around, she is more confident, up and ready to go to school in the mornings with no push back at all, she is on the cross country team and enjoys competing. She is very proud of her school; loves her teachers very much. Academically, I could not have been more grateful for the Nativity school of Worcester, and I highly recommend the Nativity school of Worcester to any parent who wants a holistic approach to educating a child beyond just academics.”

GRADUATE SUCCESS:
FIRST GENERATION PIONEERS
Donald Rodriguez, a graduate from the Xavier class of 2007, is a graduate of Yale University, and is in his 7th and final year of medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Donald will graduate this spring with an MD and PhD, becoming the first ever graduate to obtain this level of advanced degree.
“As a grad, I still benefit from this tight-knit community that has followed me and supported me throughout my journey. I know Nativity plays a similar role for many of us, and I am deeply grateful to all those who make the Nativity family possible.”
DONALD RODRIGUEZ
After graduating from Nativity, Donald went on to attend Bancroft School through the Worcester City Scholars Program, granting him the opportunity to develop a keen interest in science while in high school. That interest grew during college, as Donald majored in Biochemistry and Psychology at Yale. During his time at Yale, he received a research fellowship to investigate how environmental factors affect immune cell function. Donald continued to pursue immunology once at UChicago, studying how the immune system prevents autoimmunity for his recently completed PhD work. Outside of the lab and the classroom, Donald actively participates in intramural sports teams, free clinics, and the local restaurant scene. Additionally, as part of the Latino Medical Student Association, he strives to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion for trainees at all levels of medical education.
Rosend Peña, a member of the Ikunza Class of 2017, is currently a senior at the College of the Holy Cross who plans to graduate in May 2025. Rosend is a first generation college student and is one of three brothers to attend Nativity. Rosend’s older brother Ronald, graduated from Holy Cross in 2022 and his younger brother, Robert, is currently in our 7th grade Kircher Class. After completing a successful internship last summer with State Street Corporation, Rosend was offered and accepted a full time position he will begin upon graduation.
“Being a Nativity graduate is truly an honor because Nativity itself is such a beautiful and transformative place. It’s not just a school— it’s a community that fosters growth, resilience, and purpose. The values, lessons, and experiences gained at Nativity are rare and powerful, rooted in a mission of creating opportunities and empowering students to reach their fullest potential. The sense of belonging and encouragement you feel there doesn’t end at graduation— it follows you throughout your life.”

Community Highlights IMPACTFUL PARTNERSHIPS

A Nativity education is only possible because of the vast network of community supporters and benefactors in the Worcester area and beyond. We celebrate these partnerships and express tremendous gratitude towards the community that supported our work at Nativity Worcester this year.

BREAKING BARRIERS:
SUPPORTING STUDENT WELL-BEING
We started our partnership with Enlightened Interventions in the fall of 2021. They provide long-term mental health counseling for students just as if they were to get counseling at an outside agency. This partnership helps to work around long wait lists, transportation and time challenges and allow meetings in a comfortable, familiar place. Nichole Gregoire is currently our assigned clinician, meeting with many students one on one every Wednesday.
INSPIRING SUCCESS AND SHAPING THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW
In 2024, Nativity welcomed over a dozen guest speakers, including graduates, business leaders, and several members of The Links, Incorporated—a distinguished group of Black female leaders—who had a profound impact on our students. These speakers provide invaluable opportunities for students to hear diverse perspectives, learn about different career paths, and witness real-world examples of leadership, perseverance, and success. Hearing from graduates reinforces the tangible outcomes of a Nativity education, while leaders from the business world and The Links inspire our students to dream big and see themselves in positions of influence and achievement. These interactions empower our students to envision their futures with confidence and purpose, fostering a sense of possibility and belonging in spaces of leadership and success.

Trailblazers in Education

BRITTANY COMO
Fellowship Class of 2020 - 2022

Current Job Title: Director of High School Placement and Support at Nativity Worcester
WHERE ARE YOU WORKING NOW?
I am currently the Director of High School Placement and Support at NSW. I think that my degree and licensure as a School Counselor, coupled with the fact that I taught each Nativity Worcester alumni who is currently in high school, have given me a unique perspective to take on this role for our students.
WHAT SKILLS OR EXPERIENCES
DID YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM?
The skill I especially honed to take with me after the fellowship was how to work collaboratively with others. At Nativity, you rely on others to stay afloat. At times, the workload becomes overwhelming, and you need to delegate or ask people for help. Before this position, I had not known how to do this. I had also never been able to rely on a group of people who were dedicated to living out the same mission and upholding the same expectations for both themselves and the people they served. I was able to do so and learn valuable lessons that year, which allowed me to get through a particularly heavy workload and class-load.

BOWEN LEE
Fellowship Class of 2017-2019
Current Job Title: Dean of Student Culture at Paul Cuffee Upper School
HOW DID THE FELLOWSHIP INFLUENCE THE YEARS FOLLOWING YOUR GRADUATION?
I chose to join the Nativity Fellowship Program because I wanted to work and live in the City of Worcester after graduating from Holy Cross. I did not join with the intent of being a teacher. However, I had two very formative, yet different, teaching mentors in my first year and they both showed me the joy and challenge that can come from a career in the classroom. Ms. Torres and Mr. Dillon taught me skills and lessons that still inform my practice today.
WHAT IS SOME ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO PROSPECTIVE FELLOWSHIP CANDIDATES?
Say yes to as many opportunities as possible. Trust your mentors to challenge you and push you outside of your comfort zone. Build strong partnerships with students’ caregivers. Do the dishes and keep the bathroom clean. Find as many opportunities as possible to integrate lessons and projects from grad school into your classroom. Keep your grad school professors and mentors informed on (and invited to) the events that happen at Nativity. Keep the vans clean.
FOLLOWING OUR TEACHING FELLOWS IN THE WORLD TODAY

ERIN BROSNIHAN
Fellowship Class of 2016 - 2018
Current Job Title: 4th Grade Social Studies and Science Teacher at Learning First Charter School
HOW ARE YOU CURRENTLY INVOLVED AT NATIVITY?
It has been such a joy to be back in the Nativity community and get to watch the school continue to grow. When I was a fellow, Andrea and I always talked about how amazing it would be for a girls’ school to open, so it was really special getting to work alongside her as that dream became a reality this summer. My role as the Community Support Coordinator has allowed me to get to work closely with the fellows and support them throughout their fellowship journey. It has given me a number of opportunities to reflect on my own time in the fellowship and remember how impactful of a time it was for me.
WHAT SKILLS OR EXPERIENCES DID YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM?
Something that I took away from the fellowship is the importance of seeing and supporting the kids as people, not just as students. The fellowship program allowed me to work with the students not only inside the classroom, but also on the court, at community service opportunities, at fundraising events, and countless other moments. This made me want to support my future students’ growth as not just students, but also people.

YACHIRA TORRES
Fellowship Class of 2010 - 2012
Current Job Title: Byrne Scholar Teacher Mentor at the Salesianum School
HOW DID THE FELLOWSHIP INFLUENCE THE YEARS FOLLOWING YOUR GRADUATION?
During my time at NSW, I was able to lay the foundation for my professional career. I was 6th Grade Lead Teacher, 8th Grade Lead Teacher, PTA Liaison, Community Service Coordinator, Coordinator of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative during the Summer Program, ran the Cooking Club, served on the Mission and Identity Committee, and had countless other responsibilities. Plus, I somehow convinced Mr. Dillon to let me teach a Spanish class for the Native Speakers in the Mayer Class my first year, which was a wonderful opportunity to develop the curriculum. Each one of those opportunities offered invaluable experience to work with students, faculty, staff, families, donors, and various other constituents.

I was required to become organized and diligent to plan classes, meetings, and events. I sparked my creativity and ingenuity to create meaningful and engaging lessons for antsy, curious students. I was able to partner with local organizations that were close to my heart and supported my family and friends through difficult times and, in turn, I was able to become a source of support and encouragement to those who needed me. Each role gave me a chance to get to know and appreciate all the people whose lives were touched by that special place and carry them with me to all the places that followed. I learned what it meant to be a good friend, teacher, employee, coworker, supervisor, support person, and, most importantly, how to see God in all things beautiful, sad, hurtful, and healing. Helping raise all of those boys also prepared me to become the mother I am to my wonderful son.

OUR JESUIT MISSION IN ACTION
SUMMER
OF SERVICE:
NATIVITY MEN AND WOMEN FOR OTHERS
This summer session our students lived out our pillar of service, learning about and working with various organizations in the Worcester area. We were fortunate to partner with Tower Hill Botanical Garden, Broad Meadow Brook, Harvest Community Network, Pleasant St. Neighborhood Network Center, the Salvation Army, and the Shine Initiative. From helping out in food pantries to clearing out invasive plant species, our students learned the importance of being active in your community through hands-on experiences. As our theme, taken from the words of Wangari Maathai, of the 2024 Summer of Service says, “it’s the little things citizens do. That’s what will make the difference.”

PRACTICING CURA PERSONALIS
Class and Staff Retreats
Practicing the Jesuit value of discernment and cura personalis, each class participates in a mindful retreat throughout the year where they learn more about each other, themselves, and how to grow into the best version of themselves. Similarly, our staff had our semi-annual retreat in October, focusing on how to continue developing their strengths and making our community stronger as a whole.

INVOCATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:
WHAT'S IN A CLASS NAME?
Our Sister Mary Antona Ebo Class of 2027 and Sister Thea Bowman Class of 2028 ushered in a new era of Nativity Worcester when they became the first ever classes of girls to attend the school. On September 19th, 2024, we named the two classes during our annual Invocation of the Holy Spirit. Both namesakes are prominent religious figures who embodied our four pillars throughout their lives, and were chosen to represent the two classes not only for their time at Nativity but for the many years to come as they join our alumni network. We look forward to seeing the impact these students continue to make on our community!

A Holistic Education EXTRACURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES
AND SPORTS

CLUBS AT NSW
Roughly once a week, students at Nativity Worcester participate in one of the following clubs:
Cooking
Chess and Board Games
Nativity Broadcasting Club (NBC)
Drawing and Creative Writing
Movie Review
Sculpting
Smoothie Crafting
These clubs help students learn what their interests are outside of the normal academic classes. These clubs happen in school, during school hours, and are run by our own staff and faculty. This year, we have more clubs than ever thanks to our faculty who volunteer to run these activities!
EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES IN ATHLETICS
“Sports at Nativity to me means fun. It means time with your friends. It’s a safe place after school to stay active and try new sports. You feel more like a part of the community as you experience championships, games, and meets together.” DEMETRIUS
Nativity Worcester offers various sports throughout the calendar year, beginning with basketball through the winter, baseball and track in the Spring, and soccer and cross country in the fall. In March of 2024, we celebrated our Knights winning the league championship for the second year in a row! The spring brought more success

as we participated in track meets and baseball games, bringing home our first baseball win in over 10 years. By fall, we welcomed our first co-ed teams at Nativity Worcester, with our girls running on the cross country team and playing on the soccer team. Both teams had successful seasons, and we look forward to more years of co-ed teams!

“At GIW, one thing that we focus on is ensuring girls know that they are valuable and what they go through matters…we want them to be strong, smart and bold. We offer them the space they need when they may come in with the stress of the world on their shoulders. We offer a space for them to be themselves with no judgment.”
JESSICA DIAZ Director of Programs at Girls Inc. Worcester
EMPOWERING THE FIRST NATIVITY WOMEN: GIRLS INC PARTNERSHIP
In the fall of 2023, Nativity Worcester reached out to Girls Inc. with the hope of partnering with them to run our after-school program for our girls. This partnership officially started in fall of 2024; the girls are at Girls Inc. of Worcester Monday through Thursday as part of their school day with an optional program on Fridays. Nativity Girls receive all the programming that is open to everyone at Girls Inc. They begin with a minimum 30 minute homework block that involves staff and volunteers assisting the girls with their homework on a daily basis. After completing their homework, the girls choose an activity to participate in from the following options: cooking lab, gym with physical activities, swimming with their friends, art, games, and even health and beauty lessons on how to take care of their hair, make-up, nails.

FINDING YOUR TUTOR:
AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT WORKS
From 3:18 to 5:00 every day, our students participate in an evening study program, where they are provided a safe and quiet space to complete homework. Additionally, tutors from the College of the Holy Cross are paired with students for a semester to aid them with their homework. Throughout the semester, they help grow our students’ skills both academically and interpersonally. We are grateful for the continued partnership with Holy Cross and the tutors they provide for our students!
“It feels like an older brother…my tutor really cares about me and when I don’t get a topic he wouldn’t get annoyed. He was very patient.”
BRYAN ARTHUR Swamy Class of 2025
“I can get better help and understanding from my tutor because she helps me one on one and knows me well.”

THE GRADUATE EXPERIENCE A LIFELONG
COMMITMENT

We remain committed to our students’ success far beyond middle school. Our Graduate Support program follows students into high school and beyond, ensuring they continue to thrive as they pursue their educational goals.
Nativity Worcester makes a 12 year commitment to its students, meaning holistic support does not end in 8th grade, but continues for graduates in high school, college and the workforce. The Graduate Support Program effectively tracks, supports, and mentors students once they have graduated from Nativity, ensuring each student’s success in high school and access to continuing education opportunities. The Graduate Support Program strives to meet the growing and diverse needs of our graduates as they navigate an often challenging world. We provide a safe and quiet space for homework help or schoolwork, high school transition and completion support, afterschool and summer job search assistance, skill-building events, community service opportunities, and college search and financial aid application support.
Currently, 261 graduates from nineteen classes are benefiting from the Graduate Support Program. With the support of the Director of High School Placement and Support and the Director of College Placement and Post-Secondary Transition, Nativity has witnessed graduates excel at the following schools.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT:
SWAMY’S HIGH SCHOOL FAIR EXPERIENCE
“I went to a trade school to become an electrician and got my Class B Journeyman’s license for electrical work. I’m now working for a big company in Boston. Going to a trade school did really work out, especially for people that don’t want to do 4 years at a university or community college. If you really put your mind to it you can always make something happen.”
On October 10th, 2024, Nativity Worcester hosted a high school fair in our Briggs Gymnasium for the Swamy Class. Ms. Como, Director of High School Placement and Support, coordinated the attendance of 15 boarding, private, and trade schools from the Worcester area and across Massachusetts. We have recently expanded our partnerships with high schools to provide a variety of options for our students to explore. More than ever, we are supporting our students in their unique educational journeys, ensuring that they find their right fit and are set up for success after they graduate Nativity Worcester.
“Nativity means so much to me; it changed my life in so many ways, and continues to do so – not only for me but also for my family.”

Kayvaun Mulready, a graduate from the Ricci Class of 2019, graduated from Worcester Academy in 2024 and is a current freshman at Georgetown University, where he was recruited to play basketball.

Jayvian Bush, a graduate from the Espinal Class of 2020, graduated from high school in 2024 and went to trade school to become an electrician.

LIFE LITERACY PROGRAM: AUTO WORKSHOPS AND HOME BUYING SEMINARS
“The reason I like coming to school here is that even when you graduate, you can still visit and forever be a part of this community.”
In an effort to support graduates outside of academics, Nativity Worcester has begun a series of workshops that cover various life skills. Thanks to the hard work of Ms. Chataigne, Director of College Placement and Post-Secondary Transition, we have developed a comprehensive life literacy program that aims to provide these real-life resources for our graduates. On October 28th, 2024, we had the privilege of hosting Dennis Auto at the school to teach our graduates how to change a tire, check oil levels, and various other skills to know for owning and operating a vehicle. The Grad Support Program plans to offer additional programming in the second half of the school year including a home buying seminar hosted by Rockland Trust and our annual Career Exploration Day.

ACCESS & IMPACT THE CAMPAIGN FOR NATIVITY WORCESTER
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Friends,
Nativity Worcester continues to shine as a transformative and vibrant community, unwavering in its commitment to providing an exceptional Jesuit education for students from under-resourced communities. As I reflect on 2024 and the exciting milestones we’ve reached, I am profoundly grateful for the incredible impact you have had on this school.
In 2024, we celebrated the historic opening of the Julie Power Girls Division, a moment that marks a new chapter in our mission. This milestone would not have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of our long-standing supporters and new champions alike. Your support during fiscal year 2024, and your contributions to Access & Impact: The Campaign for Nativity School of Worcester, have set a record year of giving, ensuring the continued growth and success of our school.
With deep appreciation, I extend my heartfelt thanks to you and all our benefactors. Your generosity is the foundation of our tuition-free model, enabling us to change the lives of our students, graduates, and the broader community. This mission thrives because of donors, volunteers, staff, families, and trustees who give selflessly of their time, resources, and expertise.
Together, we are equipping Nativity Worcester with the tools, leadership, and community support needed to advance our mission. I am honored to walk this path of transformation alongside you as we proudly expand our reach to embrace young women, providing them with the same opportunities for personal growth and academic excellence that have defined Nativity Worcester for decades. Thank you, and I look forward to the incredible journey ahead as we continue to expand our impact and shape the future.
Gratefully,
Bill Condron
OUR CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES:
In its 22nd year of operation, Nativity School of Worcester made a major leap forward, becoming a co-divisional institution by accepting, enrolling, and educating the hearts and minds of 29 girls of Worcester. This momentous occasion is a direct result of the success of our ambitious $20 million campaign, which set out to ensure that young women can receive the same transformative education we have provided to the boys of Worcester for over two decades. The generosity of many charitable foundations, corporations, and individuals have made this dream a reality, and we extend our gratitude to all who have engaged in this campaign. We continue to raise funds through Access & Impact: A Campaign for Nativity Worcester to fulfill the priorities we set out to accomplish just over two years ago. While the Julie Power Girls Division is open and we continue to enhance our boys program, we remain focused on the following campaign initiatives to successfully expand our mission.
Curriculum, Programming Design and Scholarships for Girls: $5.5 M
Nativity Fund: Fund Scholarships for Boys and Annual Operational Costs for the next four years: $6M
Construction of New Classrooms and Collaborative Spaces: $4M
A Promise for the Future: Growing Nativity’s endowment: $4.5M
Nativity believes that empowering young women will not only ensure that future Nativity Women reach their full potential but this bold initiative will strengthen our entire school and positively impact the broader community and society. We continue to invite supporters and new friends to invest in our campaign and the future leaders of Worcester and beyond!
Thank you to the lead investors to Access & Impact: The Campaign for Nativity Worcester
Nativity Worcester is deeply grateful to the following lead investors who made generous pledges and campaign gifts!
This list includes supporters who have made campaign gifts or multi-year pledges as of December 31, 2024.

Getting behind the campaign for the girls’ school was an obvious choice for us. Giving to NSW is an investment in shaping brighter futures for the kids who attend.”

“At a time when solutions to education and poverty feel more intractable and less politically possible, Nativity remains a place where hope, idealism - and yes, solutions - unapologetically live. It is a school which walks with families, together in search of a better life for their boys and now their girls. It is a school which sees young women and men to the shores of adulthood, bringing out the potential that lives within them. It is truly a special place.”

“My son graduated quite a few years ago and I continue to rave about Nativity School. Nativity school not only provided a great education, it helped shape my son into a young man of character and leadership. My son and I both feel Nativity School has been one of the biggest blessings in our lives. It continues to positively impact young men and assist in giving them educational opportunities they may have never been able to access. My son now has his Masters in Social Work and is making an impact in the lives of others. We couldn’t thank Nativity School enough.”

“It takes only a moment when you walk through the doors of Nativity Worcester and are welcomed with a firm handshake, eye contact, and a warm greeting from a middle schooler that you realize it is more than just a school. The faculty, students, and their families are committed to putting the mission of the school at the forefront of everything that happens within those walls, and the result is a bright future far beyond the twelve year commitment that is promised on day one. I am proud to support this amazing community because I know the impact it has made and will continue to make for young men and now their sisters.”

TRIBUTE GIFTS
Gifts to Nativity School of Worceser are often more than support for the school. Memorial and honorary gifts are a way to perpetuate the memory of a loved one who has passed away and an opportunity to honor an individual who has been impactful in the donor’s life. Each year, members of our community support Nativity Worcester with a gift in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone who played a large role in the donor’s life. Listed on these next two pages are those.

"Our family’s connection to the mission and work of Nativity School of Worcester has been a source of immense joy. Supporting the school through annual giving— and now as members of the Nativity Forever Society—has been an easy decision. The transformative impact of Nativity reflects the true purpose of education: opening doors, creating opportunities, and the full formation of the person who will lead in service of others. We are committed to doing whatever we can to support the continued success of Nativity School of Worcester."

“I
offer real experience and connection to the children Nativity is currently serving as I was one of those kids. Getting involved ultimately was a decision that came down to trying to do what I can to ensure Nativity is able to provide opportunities for many generations to come.”

INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF A NATIVITY STUDENT
Make a major impact by funding part of or the entire education of one of our Nativity Worcester students or invest the school’s endowment or future renovations. The school’s ability to continue to provide a quality, tuition-free education and plans to open the Julie Power Girls Division will only be possible through the generosity of sponsors. GIFT BY WILL
Making a planned gift is an extraordinary way to support Nativity School of Worcester and our mission while achieving your personal, philanthropic, and estate planning goals. Consider including Nativity Worcester in your will and leave your legacy today and make a difference in the lives of our students and graduates for years to come! For more information, contact Nate Ingalls, Leadership Gifts Officer at ningalls@nativityworcester.org or (508) 799-0100.
HONORARY AND MEMORIAL GIFTS
Gifts to Nativity Worcester are often more than support for the school. Memorial and honorary gifts are a way to perpetuate the memory of a loved one who has passed away and an opportunity to honor an individual who has been impactful in the donor’s life. Please see the enclosed envelope or visit www.nativityworcester.org.

Mission Statement
Nativity School of Worcester is an accredited, independent, Jesuit middle school that provides a quality, all-scholarship education to students of all faiths from under-resourced communities in Worcester. Drawing upon four pillars — strength, scholarship, character, and service — a Nativity education inspires selfdiscovery, responsibility, spiritual growth, and a lifelong dedication to learning.
