ZINES IN ZAR is an event aimed to present independent publications and self-publishing. It is a mini fair in Cape Town and a unique opportunity to bring together both creators and readers.
What are we looking for?. We are looking for applications from cartoonists, illustrators, writers and artists who primarily self-publish, & small press or independent publishers.

We are excited to announce that applications for the fair are now open for zine makers who’d like to have a table. A halftable (approx 40cm x 100cm) costs 75 rand, 150 rand for a full table. We are a curated show, which means that there’s an application process involved to exhibiting at the fair. The way we do this is to ask for you to provide a bit of info about you and the kind of work you might like to sell before we can offer you a table. ONESHOTZINE@GMAIL.COM

The fair will take place at Creative Nestilings from 10 am - 6 pm and feature live music, zine workshops, and raffle prizes. Grab something to eat from our local foodie Zach and something to drink from the nest bar, then stop by Zines in Zar , an exhibition examining zine culture locally.
If you don’t want or need to sit at a table for your one or two zines, fear not! You can leave them at the OPEN TABLE. The Open Table is for the zinesters who want to bring their zines to share and sell at zinefest, but don’t need or want a full table. You don’t need to register anythingjust bring your zines, leave then with us for the day, tell us how much you’re selling them for, and how many copies you have. At the end of the day, you come and collect any money or zines remaining. Voila!
