Supply Terms

Residential Builders Division

Providing a Purchase Order to start trading with National Tiles is acceptance of the ‘Supply Terms’ outlined online at nationaltiles.com.au & terms below.

Purchase Order Only Service

• Builder to email National Tiles purchase order for processing, 12 weeks prior to required delivery date.

1. Email subject: Lot address & Job number. One job per email with attached purchase order/s.

2. PO to include correct delivery address, site supervisors name & contact phone number.

3. All product names & codes to be listed along with quantity beside each item.

4. Ensure the correct freight charges have been applied.

5. Provide an estimated delivery date.

• If purchase order contains errors i.e. pricing, freight etc; National Tiles will request an amended PO.

Estimation Only Service

• Builder to email estimation request to National Tiles Estimating department.

• Email subject: Lot address & Job number. One job per estimation request:

Request must include:

1. PDF copy of plans (PLANS MUST BE TO SCALE, NO SCANNED COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED)

2. Client colour specifications or colour scheme to be provided at the same time of request.

3. Please ensure all product codes provided, are correct. National tiles estimate based off product codes, not the product descriptions.

• A formal quote, Tile Layout, Customer/Tiler/Builder Report will be provided for each job estimated.

Builder Studio Selection Service

• Builder/Client book design centre selection appointment through online booking portal (link provided).

• Builder to email client documentation to the design team, no less than 48 hrs prior to client appointment.Email subject: Lot address & Job number. One client per email.

Request must include:

1. PDF copy of plans (PLANS MUST BE TO SCALE, NO SCANNED COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED)

2. Client specifications

• Design consultant guide the client, through selection & complete estimation.

• Client will receive a copy of Tile Layout, Selection Schedule, Signed Terms & Conditions.

• Client is provided labelled tile samples of their selection.

• Once the client has signed off, the builder is provided a formal quote, Tile Layout, Customer/ Tiler/Builder Report. A Labour report is provided for Complete Package builders.

Estimation Software – TEX Tile Express

• TEX Tile Express is a National Tiles developed 3D visual software, designed to estimate tiles based off floor plans. Generating accurate tile quantities including wastage %.

• TEX will only be truly accurate if PDF files such as; correctly scaled plans & client inclusions provided by the builder are precise. Therefore, we still encounter a few occasions where extras are required.

• Builder agrees to use National Tiles Wastage Rules for all estimations.

• All room elements such as vanities, toilets, fixtures/ fittings, bath, laundry tubs etc are used as visual representation only. They do not take precedence over any cabinetry colour or style, fitting design or fixture placement. National Tiles does not take responsibility for any misinterpretation regarding these visual tools.

• To guarantee efficient estimating of builder requirements, the National Tiles Builder Manual must contain accurate information. This is filled out once & remains on file.

• Where National Tiles is estimating labour rates, the builder is required to provide their standard allowance Tile Credit, Labour Credit & Markup %

Turnaround Timeframes

National Tiles endeavours to achieve the following turnaround times for each job:

• New estimation request or amendment – 3 business days.

• New client tile selection – 24 hrs from appointment time.

Tile Layout & Tiler Report

• It’s the responsibility of the builder & tiler to refer to all labels, descriptions & side notations of the Tile Layout, along with the 2D visual elevations. Pictures followed alone could result in errors on site & important laying information being missed. If notes & visual representation are unclear, it is the builder’s obligation to seek clarification with National Tiles.

• Tile grids/grout lines pictured on the 2D Tile Layout are indicative. It is up to the builder/tiler to determine the best layout of grout lines to reduce cuts & waste.

Amendment Requests

• All amendment requests to tile paperwork must be submitted via email with all changes clearly itemised.

• Clients are entitled to one (1) free amendment request after the first tile paperwork has been completed. Any additional amendment requests thereafter will incur an administration fee of up to $500 per amendment request. This fee will be charged on the tile paperwork & quote.

Tile Install - NSW Only

• National Tiles tilers refer to all labels, descriptions, 2D visual elevations & side notations of the Tile Layout & Install report.

• It’s the builder’s obligation to inform National Tiles of any onsite changes that could affect tiling locations, conflicts with the Tile layout/reports & m2 quantities.

• Additional charges apply for tile install to wet area niches, shelves, window reveals.

• Additional lineal metre charges apply for mitred edges.

• National Tile will not mitre edges to steps & slab edges internal & external of any kind.

• A per shower base charge applies for tiles over 300mm.

• Depending on floor waste locations to shower bases/ wet area floor with tiles larger than 300x300mm, additional cuts made by the tiler may be required to obtain water drainage. This can include the shower base tiles being laid on the diagonal.

• Construction charges may apply if large tiles over 600x600 are selected for wall application, due to extra reinforcement.

• A prep fee will apply if main floor slab is not in tolerance, when tiles 600x600 & larger are selected.

• The standard grout line for rectified tile is 2.5mm thick. The standard grout line for pressed edge is 3mm thick.

• National Tiles NSW Install Team use Mapei grout, floor wastes, trims & angles supplied by National Tiles.

• National Tiles prefer at least the first coat of paint applied to internal walls prior to commencing tiling installation.

• Three (3) weeks’ notice is required for accurate tile installation start date.

• If balconies are completed at a later date, a return trip fee will be charged. This is to carry out screeding, moister barrier, tiling & grouting.

• A delay fee will apply, for any reason preventing National Tiles commencing tile install on the booked start date.

• A return to site fee will apply if National Tiles are required to return to site due to an area not being ready.

LVTH - Laminate, Vinyl, Timber & Hybrid - If Applicable

• Floating floors may require expansion joints, allowing the product to move as it naturally expands & contracts with temperature & humidity changes. Expansion joints can be incorporated as a transition between rooms. However, may be needed within one room if the area exceeds the max span.

• Expansion joint locations is determined on site by installer.

• Silicone cannot be applied to any floating floors; this includes along skirting or around cabinetry.

• Substrate tolerance maximum 4mm over 2m.

Large Format Panel Tiles

• Minimum order quantity for supply is (1) full panel.

• Further to the tile delivery charge, additional charges apply for panels. Including charge for the A frame/flat bed pallet. National Tiles are not responsible for removal of this pallet after delivery.

Large Format Panel Tiles with Install - NSW Only

• Prior to panel installation, the following must be installed: Benchtops, cupboards, cabinetry panels, power point or locations clearly marked, all architraves around windows.

• Locations for fittings must be clearly marked with hole sizes provided for towel rails, toilet roll holder, toilet waste, mirrors, light fittings, power point, taps, shower head & rails etc.

• For full wet area wall panel installation, all vanities must be installed prior to measure. All walls must be flat, square & waterproofed prior to measure.

• The following must be removed to allow clear installation access to required areas: hotplates, taps, recessed range hoods, sinks, taps.

• Prior to panel installation behind wall mounted canopy range hoods; the range hood must be removed showing hole locations & sizes prior to check measure.

• Waterproofing details must be provided so correct adhesive is used.

• Clear access must be provided, no other trades to be working in the installation area due to physical size of panels & requiring space.

• If the installer goes to site & the site is not ready, a failed call out fee of $220 inc GST will be charged.

• No off cuts will be left on site.

Purchase Order Process

• Builder to email National Tiles purchase order for processing, 12 weeks prior to required delivery date.

• One (1) purchase order is accepted per National Tiles order number.

• Purchase Order must have National Tiles quote number, correct delivery address, estimate delivery date & site supervisor name & contact phone number.

• Purchase Order amount must match National Tiles quotation, or the purchase order will not be accepted. If changes occur to the order, a new purchase order will be requested.

Delivery & Call Ups

• 14 day call up lead time is required for deliveries.

• Up to 20 site keys are required for delivery drivers & National Tiles site reps. If this is not possible, please notify your National Tiles BDM/Account Manager.

• Deliveries requiring separate delivery (e.g. wet areas & main floors), will incur additional delivery charges.

• Deliveries are left in a secure area by manitou. If a secure area isn’t available upon delivery, National Tiles may choose not deliver unless previously requested by the builder.

• National Tiles does not take responsibility for on site theft. It’s the builder’s responsibility to take all precautions to avoid such circumstances. The builder is to provide a new PO for a new delivery.

• If the order is undeliverable, due to an unfit site; a redelivery fee will be charged & a new purchase order will be requested.

• Due to OH&S laws National Tiles do not offer a Hand Unload delivery service. Tiles remain wrapped on the delivered pallet/s.

Multiple Batches Pre-Delivery

• Upon packing an order for delivery, on the rare occasion a tile may not have enough stock in the one batch to fill the required quantity, the site supervisor will be contacted to get approval to continue.

• The tiler will follow the Tile Layout with the new mixed batch markup provided to the site super, to successfully carry out the tile installation as planned.

• If the multiple batches don’t work, other options are provided such as; possible interstate transfer of stock with the one batch, wait for new shipment (ETA provided at time) or have the client reselect affected tile.

• Multiple Batch Tile Layout breakdowns cannot be provided to Purchase Order Only Service builders. To avoid reselection, available quantities in each batch can be provided. The builder must confirm requirements thereafter.

Extra Policy

• Broken boxes or quantity disputes must be reported to National Tiles within 7 days of delivery.

• Photos of broken boxes/tile will be requested.

• For builder provided quantities & Purchase Only Service, a new purchase order will be requested for extras required.

• Extra tiles required due to any reason outside of estimation or tiling error, a new purchase order is required prior to delivery of extra tiles.

• Matching tile batches cannot be guaranteed.

• Where shortages/extras haven’t been reported to National Tiles by the builder & the builder/tiler take tiles from another job site to complete the affected job; National Tiles will not take responsibility in providing extra tiles FOC.

• If in dispute of who is responsible for shortages, National Tiles will conduct a thorough investigation to determine where the shortage has occurred, such as; on site changes made by builder/client, NT estimation error, wastage, conflicting plans or client selections etc. For urgent jobs, a PO can be provided to get stock to site. National Tiles will notify the builder of the outcome & advise whether the purchase order will be used or if the tiles will be provided free of charge. Allow 1-2 days for a quick resolution.

• If National Tiles is responsible for extra tiles due to estimating error, tiles will be provided at $0 & a purchase order is not required.

• Any changes or updates required to the standard tiling process must be advised to National Tile to maintain accurate estimating. If no communication has been received to maintain Builder’s Manual, shortages will not be deemed a National Tiles error.

Credits, Returns & Cancelled Jobs

• The builder is required to advise National Tiles of any cancelled jobs.

• No cancellations, credits or refunds are given for special-order, indent or custom-made items

• Tiles are manufactured in batches, where variations between batches may occur. Therefore, it’s beneficial for the builder & client to keep leftover tiles of at least 5m2. In case of future warranty rectification works required (bathroom leaks, rip ups etc). National Tiles may no longer carry that range or no longer stock that specific batch. National Tiles will only accept returns of a minimum of 5m2 or 3 boxes (whichever is the lesser quantity). Where it isn’t deemed an over estimation error, a restocking fee of 20% will apply for the requested return.

• Orders with builder quantity errors or on-site changes; resulting in product/s needing to be returned will incur a collection & restocking fee.

• No returns or credits will be processed after 30 days.

Project Developments

• Fees will apply for cancelations or product changes post purchase order being received. This is due to high volumes of product specifically ordered per stage of each development.

• An amendment fee will apply for each change request to estimation paperwork. This applies per request, per stage.
