GET TO KNOW SOME OF OUR CEOS Each Journeys trip is led by a Chief Experience Officer, or CEO—your greatest resource on your trip. These knowledgeable, passionate individuals share insights on local traditions, connect you with interesting people wherever you go, and offer recommendations for restaurants or activities to do in your free time. Meet a few of our talented CEOs below. CHIARA C., I T A LY

NEIL R., SOUTH AMERICA

One of the best ways to experience Italian culture is through the food—tasting something typical to each region as we travel from north to south, meeting with a family who has run a restaurant for generations, taking part in everyday rituals like drinking espresso after a meal. With each trip I lead, I feel like I’m rediscovering my country. Seeing the history, traditions, and culture through the eyes of our travelers is a new experience each time. The sense of wonder that washes over the group as they see something new and wonderful never gets old for me, from watching the sunset paint the sky on the Amalfi coast to the gasps of amazement at the sight of magnificent architecture (I call this a “whoo” moment!).

I love leading trips in Chile’s Lake District. The scenery is breathtaking— in the space of a single morning, you can gaze at a volcano, sail an emerald-green lake, and hike past waterfalls in a mountainous rain forest. But the highlights for me are the unscripted moments: during our lunch of smoked trout and white wine, for instance, I catch our hosts demonstrating their specialized cooking style to a group of travelers in the kitchen. Around the fire, I hear travelers trading photography tips. On the pier, our boat captain is teaching a traveler the perfect fly cast. These spontaneous moments, as well as the meaningful connections that travelers make on our trips, add up to an unforgettable experience—and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

F I L B E RT L . , EAST AFRICA The best thing about my job is getting to share and explore the wonders of Mother Nature with our travelers, from the massive wilderness of the Serengeti to the green-walled paradise of the Ngorongoro Crater. When travelers see the incredible creatures of East Africa roaming freely in their natural habitat, it leaves a lasting impression on them. I am proud to be able to contribute to that experience. I also treasure the opportunity to share the traditions and cultures of Tanzania with our travelers—and to hear their own unique stories. We all come from very different places and have much to learn from each other, and I love that my job allows me to both teach and learn.
