The Pam O’Toole Trusdale Woman in Manufacturing Award, aptly named after the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) long-time Executive Director, seeks to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women in the industry, an often-untapped talent pool in a primarily male industry. The winner of the Pam O’Toole Trusdale Woman in Manufacturing award is Deborah Edwards.
Deborah is Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of SteelPoint in Matthews, NC. There she is responsible for both front and mid-office functions including human resources, risk management, legal, compliance, safety, and facilities management.
Prior to joining SteelPoint in January 2017, Deborah was Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director – Corporate Security at Piedmont Natural Gas Company where she handled all matter of legal services. Prior to this role, she served as associate general counsel for Duke Energy Corporation and senior commercial counsel in North America for Continental Tire.
Beyond her prolific career, Deborah has also been civic minded and an active participant in community affairs. She has served on the Board of the Cental Piedmont Community College, the Board of Visitors for Wake Forest University School of Law, and perhaps unsurprisingly received numerous awards from the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. Amongst her many job duties and civic involvement, Deborah also serves on the NATM Board Government Affairs Committee and as an incredible advocate for the industry in meetings with Congressional members as part of NATM’s Regulatory Roundup. Deborah’s work experience and ability to quickly understand complex topics, has made her a wellrespected voice amongst her peers and with legislators. ■
