Underthementor-shipofmasterpuppeteerRichardBayhebeganperformingshows atthemeparksandschools.AnearlyopportunitytostudywithJimHenson’sMuppet PerformersandhundredsofperformancesforBay’scompanyhelpedhonehisskills asaperformer.AninvitationtobeoneofthefirstparticipantsintheEmergingArtist ProgramattheNationalPuppetryConference,EugeneO’NeillTheaterCenterhelped developGrueneberger’swritingandproductionskills. Theseskillscombinedwitha bitofluckleadtotheformationofGrueneberger’sPuppetArtTheaterCo.in1995.
