Driving for Lyft you earn more! Lyft takes a lower percentage fee from the Lyft driver's earnings than Uber. Lyft's fee starts at 20% and goes down as you complete more rides. Some Lyft drivers like Dan only pay Lyft 5%, keeping 95% of their income! Lyft also gives many great hourly and weekly cash bonuses (which can be worth hundreds up to $750), and discounts on gas and car repairs.
Working for Lyft drivers earn more than Uber drivers thanks to tips: Lyft charges passengers a bit more than Uber which is why Lyft drivers earn on average $2 more per hour than Uber drivers (according to a large Ridester survey). Another reason many Uber drivers are going to become a Lyft driver is the tips. Tips are a BIG extra income for ride share drivers. Some drivers earn an extra $100 per week in tips.
