A NEW GREEN MONUMENT FOR CHARLESTOWN
Project Type:
-This site is the Boston Autoport, currently utilized for offloading and storing shipped cars

-Due to climate change, most of this site will face regular flooding
Urban Planning Park Design Adobe Suite SketchUp Enscape Group Work 01 LEGEND
-My group and I condensed current site uses into a series of new sloped buildings, freeing up ground space for other uses
-The public green roof I designed allows users to climb to the rooftop, giving spectacular views of Boston
-The centrally located deck and water feature connects visitors to the site’s history of shipping while giving multiple areas for gathering and events

- This project was the creation of outdoor learning spaces for the landscape architecture department at the UMN
-After determining existing campus assets, this plan was created to surround a central studio space with a series of rooms and gardens, each pertaining to a learning goal
- The linear paths and plantings are inspired by the linear grid of the surrouding agriculture fields, allowing for sightlines into and through the site, and for easy movement around the site
-Spaces for both larger and more intimate gathering were create throughout the site, giving flexibility to the site and encouraging the sites use by both classes, students and visitors

Variety of spaces and gardens for learning, meeting, or relaxing

Model Making
-This site was located adjacent to the Bell Museum, which receives a hight number of visitors
-My site design investigated the many ways that trees are used and appreciated by humans
-Distinct rooms were created that host tree specie(s) selected to engage site visitors in different ways as they move through the spaces
-The rooms were categorized into three themes: tree attributes, human tree interactions, and tree life cycles
