2025/2026

From digital programmes you can complete at your own pace to degree level apprenticeships in management and leadership with recognised qualifications there are options for everyone.

This guide provides an overview of the options available at all levels, however if you need more information please contact a member of the People Team.

Leadership & Accountability are part of our DNA, this means that everyone in the firm has an element of leadership to their role. LEAPS will support you in learning the skills to meet those requirements and more

You will experience these stages at each step on the LEAPS pathway:

Learn: Learn new leadership skills and/or knowledge.

Explore: Explore different leadership concepts, perspectives and ideas.

Achieve: Achieve your goals in support of your career.

Perform: Perform better in your role using the skills and knowledge you’ve acquired.

Stretch: Step out of your comfortable zone and stretch your abilities to achieve more and develop.

The Leadership Pathway shown below shows the route you can take to develop your leadership skills using LEAPS

At each level there is training and learning opportunities available to support you in your development and career.

This programme has been designed to be accessible and inclusive, offering opportunities to everyone and in a way that is flexible to individual needs.

We know at Howes Percival that there is a element of leadership in all roles regardless of where you work and what you do.

Step Into Leadership digital programme is available to everyone, regardless of role, function or time with the business.

As this is a fully digital programme hosted on the LMS it means you can access the content as and when required. It also means you can complete the programme at a pace that suits you

This fully online programme is available to complete on the LMS and cover foundation level leadership topics in linked to our DNA to help you take your first step in learning about leadership.

The People Manager Step aims to build foundation management skills for people starting to manage others or aspiring for a management role. There are two parts to the line manager induction - Part one focuses on our HP people processes and part twogives top tips and tools for being a manager.

Delivered by the People Team, this session covers the roles and responsibilities of a manager as well as the policies and processes you need to know to manage people. This also includes a HPguide to being a line manager to support you with managing others.

• Your responsibilities

• Top tips for being a great manager

CrucialConversationsworkshop

There can be times where we need to have difficult conversations whether that it is in our team, with our colleagues or our clients. This ½ dayvirtual training session withan external training provider Fortis has been previously delivered at the FEF in May 2025 and will help you to learn techniques to handle those conversations confidently and successfully.

PeopleManagerDigitalProgramme

Following the successof the Step into Leadership digital programme last year we have launched a People Manager digital programme for aspiring people managersto build their understanding of management techniques.

DevelopingCoreLeadershipBehaviours-AGuideforNew Managers(viaMBL)

This webinar will help new managersdevelop the core leadership behaviours that foster trust and high performance. Attendees will learn practical strategies to lead with integrity, set clear expectations, and create a culture of accountability within their teams.

In addition to the training available to everyone, we are offering the opportunity to undertake a Level 3 accredited Apprenticeship in People Management. Click here to read more detail about the apprenticeship

Commitment:

Must be able to commit the equivalent of 29 working hours a month away from your usual role for 12-15 months.

You must be either a people manager or able to undertake people management responsibilities during this apprenticeship such as in a project or for a more junior member of the team. Please contact the People Team for more information if you are unsure

On completion you will receive a certificate from the Institute of Leadership & Management, designations and digital credentials as an Associate of the Institute (AMInstLM)

If you are interested in this apprenticeship, please discuss with your manager to ensure you are able to meet the commitments

The Future Leader stepaims to develop leadership and business development skills and prepare people for leadership roles in the future.

• Adding value to your client, referrer and targetrelationships e.g. training

• Identifying and leveraging opportunities to grow those relationshipse.g. introductions to crosssell

Gain support, guidance and insight to help you to achieve your career goals by requesting a mentor through the Howes Percival mentoring scheme.

Whether you’ve just started managing a team, or you’re preparing for your first leadership role, this webinar will help you understand what good leadership looks like, giving practical, everyday tools to lead in a way that works for you and your team.

We’ll explore the difference betweenbeing a manager and being a leader,introduce key leadership styles and when to use them, and help you reflect on your natural leadership strengths. You'll leave with greater clarity, confidence, and tools to help you grow into the leader your team needs

You must be either a people manager of managers or able to undertake people management responsibilities of other managers during this apprenticeship such as in a project Please contact the People Team for more information if you are unsure.

On completion you will receive a certificate from the Institute of Leadership & Management, designations and digital credentials as a Member of the Institute (MInstLM)

Join this session with a PGL/Board member and the People Director to discuss what it means to be a Leader at Howes Percival.

This one hour session held by Fayaz Sattar coverseverything you need to know about finance and accounts to support you in your new role.

StrengthscopeAssessment

To support individualsduring a period of transition we provide an Strengthscope assessment which give you insight into your strengths and how they come into play in work. This helps to build self awarenessand include 360 feedback aligned to your strengths.

Gain support, guidance and insight throughout the transition into a leadership role by requesting a mentor through the Howes Percival mentoring scheme.

PathtoPartnerProgramme

In addition to the training available to everyone, we are offering the opportunity to undertake the Path to Partner Programme delivered by external subject matter experts, which has been adapted to also be applicable to non-fee earning roles.

Topics covered:

• How to create and maintain your personal brand

• How to manage yourself effectively

• How to manage your team effectively

• How to be more effective networking at events & get better outcomes from your time

• How smarter partners’ can win more work, more easily

• How to create more value from existing relationships to win new work more easily & cost effectively

• Managing yourself

• Managing your practice

• Managing your strategy

At the same time the attendees of the programme will work together to complete a firm wide project, sponsored by a member of the PGL, such as recent PDR and mentoring relaunches. The firm wide project will be selected by the PGL and is an opportunity to put the new skills into practice that you have learnt in the Developing Leaders Programme

Commitment:

Must be able to commit the equivalent of 9 days away from your usual role. Six sessions will be held face to face at one of our offices and 3 will be held virtually.

The Established Leader step aims to continuously develop the skills of existing leaders to ensure skills remain current and also to build connections across the leadership team.

In the past we have selected speakers on topics such as wellbeing, bullying and harassment or equality and diversity

The mentoring relationship will be part of the existing HP mentoring scheme and match you with someone who can you can share your knowledge and experience with.

We can arrange specific leadership development interventionssuch as Executive Coaching, on an individual basis. Please contact the People Team for more information

In addition to the training available to everyone, we are offering the opportunity to undertake a Mini MBA course

Commitment:

• Course is delivered virtually or face to face

• Both take 5 consecutive days to complete

• Dates available through out the year

The LEAPs programme offers a great opportunity for you as a manager to support the development of your team members and continue to offer them new experiences or training to help them intheir career.

We suggest talking to your team members during your mid year PDR meetings about LEAPS including:

• Where do they feel they are on theLEAPs pathway?

• What are their aspirations for the short and medium term?

• What LEAPs opportunities are of interest to them and how can you support them best?
