As a firm our goal is to be a business that contributes positively to our local communities and the Environmental Committee are key in helping us to achieve this goal.

The aim is to constantly reduce our environmental impact including reducing our net carbon output to zero by 2030 by focusing on three areas:

• to implement a range of improvements in four key areas: travel; waste; energy and procurement;

• to use an accredited programme to offset the carbon emissions generated by our activities on the basis that as we reduce our emissions the need for this offset scheme will also reduce; and

• to engage internally and externally regarding our efforts to ensure that we involve all of our staff in achieving this goal and we collaborate with and learn from our clients and contacts.

We are looking at starting a HP car share scheme to reduce our carbon emissions from commuting.

The committee meet virtually on a quarterly basis. In between meetings the committee members help out by implement tasks or projects to achieve the committee’s goals.

Our Wellbeing committee and Wellbeing Champions have created an agreed firm-wide approach to wellbeing which aims to provide support for our people through our four pillars of wellbeing (below) and delivery of an annual plan of wellbeing support and activities to help people to thrive.

This year we aim to:

• enhance support for mental wellbeing;

• increase awareness and support for menopause; and

• implement wellness assessments to assist those in need of additional support.

What’srequired:

The committee meet virtually on a quarterly basis. In between meetings the committee members are involved in tasks or projects to achieve the committee’s goals.

Our Pension Governance committee review the way the pension scheme is run and governed to ensure that the scheme is well managed and members' pension benefits are safe. The committee togetherwith Mattioli Woods monitor and review the pension scheme performance, communication, value for money and member engagement. The aim of the committee is to achieve the best outcome for the scheme and ultimately the pension scheme members.

Pensiontoptips:

• Save as early as you can afford to. The earlier it goes in, the more time it has to grow!

• Review charges on old plans. Would it make sense to consolidate old pots?

• Review your fund choice. Does it fit with your beliefs? Does it match your own attitude to investment risk?

• Where will your money go should you pass away? Make sure you’ve updated your Death Benefit Nomination.

• Talk to your partner about their pension. A holistic approach can make managing retirement plans easier.

• Save more! The more you pay in, the more you should get back.
