The goal of the project was to design products for Aesculap, a leading entrepreneur in the fields of surgical instruments and equipment, that meet the complex requirements of different consulting situations and at the same time offer a worthy platform for the great product variety this enterprise offers.

8

Inspiration

The great variety of Aesculap, the medicaltechnological world and their all-embracing knowledge become clear especially in the concept CirCularium. It offers a great presentation area in form of a room-embracing 360 degree solution, that reminds of an magnetic resonance tomogram.

9

can be combined to a tunnel system of individual length and composition. The transport of this big system is possible, due to the segmentation of each single ring element.

concept
The CirCularium is a modular ring system, which is extendable to the wishes of the costumer and flexible in its use. Each of the presentation rings can stand alone for itself or 10

The boxes are extractable from the slot in the center of the rotating inner ring. This opening allows a comfortable output of the instruments for consulting conversations. Mounted onto fixation pins or firmly clipped, in order to not fall out during the rotation movement of the CirCularium, the precise instruments are stored safely and thus transportable.

grab!

The goal of this short project was to design an object, that you could grab.

I decided to chose a motorbike handle in the style that would suit BMW‘s form language. In this project it was mandatory to create a physical model.

FunctionThe idea behind the motorcycle handle is to accomplish a faster and more accommodate way to trigger the break by moving the hand inwards along the handle either than grabbing it by opening the clinched hand and reaching out for the lever. Moreover also aesthetic aspects came into consideration.

Multi-Functional tool

In this project both design students and Master students of Product development from the technical faculty joined this project to practise interdisciplinary collaboration.

Design and Development of an multifunctional electrical tool for sanding, sawing, filing, polishing, rasping, cutting, remove finishing and scraping.

Team 1: Professional Craftsman. The high Quality of the

product and its functions assist the professional way of working. Regarding the power of the device its weight is yet light in its device class. The energy support must be provided by cable or battery. Furthermore it should have a special feature, which competitors on the current market don’t have.

Multi-Functional tool ideation

The final concept features a rotatable tool head, witch assists the user with flexibility, when working in different positions.

21

Multi-Functional tool Construction

We as group decided to stick to a classical linear arrangement of the inner parts, because of the technical requirements for waterproofness and cost efficiency.

The energy supply is provided by two plugs, a battery and a wire plug, which have an equal form that can be plugged into the device.

22

Multi-Functional tool Design

The favored draft, has the most robust and technical appeal.

Protective elements like metal sheet applications that are screwed onto the rear body, emphasize the look of a professional tool.

The car seat concept is to create a lightweight construction, by simultaneously providing a new aesthetic and a function to change covers easily for winter and summer seasons. The Idea is rooted in the desire to

Variable Spannung

By pulling the chord the tension of the inlet can be adjusted to individual needs. Thus heavy and expensive mechanics can be left out. This tying system reminds of a shoe and combines a sporty character with a touch of vintage.

30
Function

The winter equipped seat obtains overhanging fabrics, that are a cosy feature, which can be wrapped around the body when the heating hasn’t launched yet in the mornings on the way to work.

31

The seat is constructed out of two form shells made out of a special threedemansional moldable wood layers that are glued togehter under a vaccum process. Strong flexible fabrics are spanned over the nutshells. In the summer air can flow through the space between the two components and cool the passenger’s transpiration.

VW Karmann-Ghia Redesign

Internship

In September 2013 I spent three weeks at the famous italdesign giugiaro headquarters in Moncalieri, Turin, Italy. After being shown the facilities I was introduced to the department of styling, where I was given the task of

redesigning the legendary historic car icon, the Karmann-Ghia. At the end of my visit I gave a short presentation on my ideas, research and results with the following plot that had a measurement of three meters in total length.
