Training or working in hot weather ?
Drink up. Drink plenty of fluids at regular intervals. Avoid dehydrating liquids. Alcohol, coffee, tea and caffeinated sof drinks can hurt more than help.
Wear protective clothing. Lightweight, light-coloured and loose-fitting clothing helps protect against heat. Change clothing if it gets completely saturated. If clothing chafes , try the NAQI® Body Screen to protect your skin.
Pace yourself. Slow down and work at an even pace. Know your own limits and ability to work safely in heat.
Train yourself. You need 5 to 10 days to acclimate to the heat. Make sure not to overly stress the body.
Schedule frequent breaks. Take time for rest periods and water breaks in a shaded or air conditioned area.
Avoid getting sunburn. Use sunscreen and wear a hat or cap.
