About Us The Leadership Collier Foundation, of the Greater Naples Chamber, works to activate the potential of leaders to build a stronger Collier County. This work is accomplished by serving as a link between the needs of the community and the leaders who can help fulfill them through a variety of leadership programs, community education, work-based learning, and resource building.

The Leadership Collier Foundation’s mission is to activate the potential of leaders to build a stronger Collier County.

The foundation's work includes programming and initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening Collier County's community fabric. The Leadership Collier Foundation's enduring legacy is reflected in the thousands of graduates who have gone on as influential leaders in Collier County and contribute to the region's growth and prosperity. Its commitment to nurturing community stewarship has made it a pillar of the Collier County community and a model for leadership development organizations nationwide.

Meet Our Team AMANDA PEARSON

VICE PRESIDENT OF LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS Amanda manages all the LCF’s leadership programs and initiatives focused on community leadership, mentorship, and talent. Through Leadership Collier, Associate Leadership Collier, and Youth Leadership Collier, the Foundation’s Alumni Association has over 2,000 graduates to date, of which this position serves as the primary alumni association director for programming and initiatives to educate and activate leaders to build a stronger Collier.

DANIELLE O’CONNOR

DIRECTOR OF TALENT INITIATIVES Danielle oversees the talent initiatives department to address workforce challenges our chamber members are facing through short-term and longterm strategies. The short-term strategies are helping employers make direct connections to employer resources regarding talent such as staffing agencies, workforce boards, and other community resources. One of the long-term strategies is to help employers build a talent pipeline through work-based learning experiences such as internships, job shadowing, guest speaking, and other career readiness programming in partnership with Collier County Public Schools and nonprofits serving students.

MATCHING NEEDS COORDINATOR Mary supports the connection of all LCF Alumni to community leadership roles, including board positions, committees, mentors, and more for both government and nonprofit leadership needs. Local organizations may also work with this staff member to be connected to alumni for their community leadership needs.

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR Under the Vice President of Leadership Programs,Kristen supports all leadership development programs and initiatives of the Leadership Collier Foundation. This work helps expedite the programs and initiatives to activate the potential of leaders to build a stronger Collier County.

LCF Programs The LCF’s leadership programs and initiatives build a broadbased network of community leaders who enhance their leadership abilities and skills through continuing education, shared perspectives, and community involvement in order to enable them to work toward solutions in the public interest.

LEADERSHIP COLLIER The Chamber believes knowledge is a key element and prime motivator of leadership. Consequently, the primary objective of Leadership Collier is to educate local business leaders about the societal and economic challenges facing the community today. Through hands-on experiences, participants explore local government, education, economic development, and the arts. With the benefit of new perspectives and connections, participants are prepared to take their places as effective community leaders

ASSOCIATE LEADERSHIP COLLIER Associate Leadership Collier is a program specifically designed for emerging leaders and professionals in Collier County of ages 21-40. Participants learn about local government, charitable organizations, arts, commerce, law enforcement, tourism, education, and other resources so that graduates can become involved and be effective community contributors.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP COLLIER The mission of Youth Leadership Collier is to develop ethical leaders committed to active community involvement. Now approaching our thirteenth year of programming, YLC has reached over 500 students to date. YLC empowers students to become effective leaders through hands-on experiences and fieldwork with key organizations while encouraging returning or staying in Collier County to begin careers and community leadership.

LCF Alumni Association Through the work of the LCF Alumni Association, graduates continue to build alliances, foster goodwill and civic trusteeship that strengthens Collier County through continued education and opportunities, while enhancing relations with other like-minded, influential community leaders.

BE INFORMED. BE ENGAGED. BE THE DIFFERENCE. EDUCATION

Through 15+ annual alumni education and engagement events, we work to continuously keep alumni up to date on Collier’s happenings while building alumni alliances.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP We offer ongoing efforts to personally match LCF Alumni with the hundreds of volunteer, community leadership opportunities that exist, such as board members, mentors, and more.

CONNECTION Through various LCF Alumni-Only channels, we offer alumni the opportunity to connect with hundreds of fellow alumni for personal and professional development.

MENTORING

We now offer the opportunity for experienced alumni to provide mentorship to new program participants interested in furthering their community leadership development.

Leadership Collier Foundation

Engage Collier Engage Collier is an intensive, one-day overview of our community, often referred to as “Leadership Collier in a day.” This program is designed to acquaint participants with the physical, social, economic, and educational structure of Collier. In addition to learning from and meeting with some of the area’s key decision-makers, participants will be given contacts & resources to enable them to become more effectively involved in community issues.

Leadership Collier Foundation

This program is targeted to large employers, corporate executives, managers, and other professionals who want to know more about the area.

Last year, the LCF educated all of Collier County Public School principals and cabinet members, and members of the local chapter of YPO (Young President’s Organization)—all leaders with strong local influence.

Matching Needs

Many local nonprofit and government agencies have needs and opportunities for alumni to serve as board members, committee members, mentors, advisory roles, and more.

The LCF Matching Needs initiative works to pair alumni with their areas of expertise and interest to complementary needs within the community, continuing to strengthen Collier County.

The Get Involved Collier! Volunteer Expo introduces organizations with volunteer needs to interested community members who are looking to serve in Collier County. It is designed to promote meaningful connections that foster strong ongoing relationships needed to build a stronger Collier.

Talent Initiatives Success Points Success Stories Trevor Klym completed an internship with Coupon Information Center.

Cayley McClosky completed a job shadow with the Department of Health at a smoking cessation event in the community. She has continued to seek job shadow experiences and even spoke to the recent Youth Leadership Collier class to discuss the importance of these opportunities.

In the first full school year of pre-COVID conditions, we were able to host mock interviews and career panels in the schools again to improve employability skills and introduce over 900 students to local career paths.

Secured an additional funding to expand our efforts in developing a local talent pipeline.

Expanding network and assisting non-profit organizations to connect the students they serve with local business professionals for internships, mentors, guest speakers, and career fairs.

88% increase in business involvement.

Defining “mutually beneficial WBL experiences” as internships, job shadows, mock interviews and mentorships, we saw a 12.9% increase

Youth Business Fair Every year at our Youth Business Fair, Michael Wynn of Sunshine Ace Hardware, chooses one young entrepreneur to sell their unique product in his store for a year. This year, he selected an unprecedented TWO Sunshine Award Winners.

This year’s Youth Business Fair allowed 95 students practice skills such as market research, product development, public speaking, and negotiation all while building their entrepreneurial mindset.

Special Thanks Interns can be a great resource, especially when candidates have been pre-vetted by the Naples Chamber of Commerce.

We recently worked with the Chamber’s intern program, which provided us with several wellqualified candidates. One of which recently completed an 11-week internship at our company.

While I hope that we were able to teach the intern about real-world business challenges and solutions, we also gained from the relationship: Fresh eyes on our business procedures A new perspective on several of our data storage systems An extra hand to help us with data-intensive projects An updated view of our social media activities Technical support with some new systems.

In the end, the intern added to his experience, received a glowing letter of recommendation, an introduction to a large international corporation near his college, and a salary for a summer office job. A good deal for all.
