"We created the Napa Valley Film Festival after producing, premiering (Sundance, January 2008) and distributing our first feature film Bottle Shock.

Much like the subject of the film—Napa's 1970s farmers dreaming of making wine as good as the French—we envisioned a film festival for Napa Valley combining the best attributes of Sundance, Toronto, Telluride and Cannes.

4:30pm – 7:00pm | Napa Valley Opera House, Napa If you are in the area 10 days before the festival, join us as Patron Circle and Vintner Circle members come together to break bread, drink great wine, and get the inside scoop on “how best to fest.” NVFF Founders and Directors Brenda and Marc Lhormer share a behind the scenes look at what not to miss, how to navigate the festival, breaking news & more.

We'll send a recap to all who cannot make the event.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8 - MEET THE ARTISTS 5:00pm – 7:30pm | Cameo Cinema, St. Helena Catch a sneak preview screening of an important award season film at the historic Cameo Cinema.

7:30pm – 9:30pm | Caldwell Snyder Gallery, St. Helena After the screening, members of our Patron Circle enjoy an up close and personal introduction to the twenty filmmakers competing in our Narrative and Documentary Competitions and serving as Artistsin-Residence at Meadowood Napa Valley. Expect inspired conversations, great wine, and tasty bites courtesy of Estate Events by Meadowood.

VINTNER CIRCLE DINNER SERIES 7:30pm | Wineries throughout the Valley Patron Circle members choose from one of two dozen intimate winemaker-filmmaker dinners hosted by members of our Vintner Circle at boutique wineries located throughout Napa Valley. Filmmakers, winemakers and local chefs share an epicurean feast and colorful stories.

Note- A-Listers get first choice, while Movie Moguls enjoy the most decadent dinner of all, hosted at Meadowood with Hollywood celebrities and the Valley's most sought after wines shared by the vintners.

5:00pm | Lincoln Theater, Yountville Patron Circle members are invited to enjoy a special awards season presentation prior to the new Saturday Night Awards Celebration and Party. Past exclusive Patron Circle presentations have included J. Edgar, Blue Valentine, Rabbit Hole, Undefeated, Youth, Philomena, The Last Five Years and Life on the Line.

AWARDS CELEBRATION 7:30 – 10:00pm | Lincoln Theater, Yountville Root for your favorite films and filmmakers as both juried and audience awards are presented at this new celebration that combines the heights of filmmaking with the most indulgent and entertaining Napa Valley hospitality.

One highlight of the evening is the presentation of twin $10,000 cash prizes for Best Narrative and Documentary Features, courtesy of Meadowood Napa Valley.

Another highlight is the screening of the four 2016 Lexus Short Films (LSF), and the announcement of the four filmmakers selected from LSF's 2017 global talent search.

FESTIVAL GALA 8:00pm – 2:00am | Lincoln Theater, Yountville Patron Circle members are special guests at the remarkable Festival Gala, the splashiest event of each year’s festival. The Gala features boutique and cult wines; artisanal cocktails and Stella Artois; reserve tastings; epicurean fare from more than 30 local top chefs; live music on multiple stages and dance floors; art exhibits and fashion; and sheer spectacle.

PITCH COMPETITION FINALS 9:00am – 11:00am | Napa Valley Opera House Don’t miss one of the unique components of each year’s festival. Ten finalists with creative ideas for new films or TV shows pitch their concepts to top studio executives with the power to say “yes”. A fast-paced pressurepacked simulation of what it means to be “in the room”, and a great way to learn from some of the best in the business.

CLOSING NIGHT AWARDS SEASON PRESENTATIONS 5:00pm – 9 :00pm | Locations TBD All of our Patron Circle members are invited to enjoy a special awards season presentation prior to the Closing Night Wrap Party.
