AVASA, Hyderabad /01 Area : 217082 sft Client: STAMLO Hotels Location : Hi Tech City, Madhapur, Hyderabad Completion Date : August 2009 - September 2012 ‘ AVASA’ the 9 floor frame with stepped terrace gardens, breaks the monotony of concrete boxes of commercial and residential buildings. The design aimed at respecting the irregular shape of the site. The building follows the site, forming the letter ‘A’, in plan. A continuous green space has been conceived in the form of stepped terraces, which are visually connected from the third level to the top floor.

Thus, the rooms are arranged along the two arms of the ‘A’ and the connecting slab between the two acts as a terrace space which steps back as one proceeds to the higher levels.

MARIGOLD, Hyderabad /03 Area : 98,000 sft Client: Green Park Location : Greenlands, Begumpet, Hyderabad Completion Date : September 2010 - March 2012 The project’s scope involved the interior design of all areas of the hotel excluding the rooms. This included the designing of the Hotel entrance lobby, Atrium, Signature Restaurant, Bar and Banquet facilities. The client required modern interiors with a touch of Indian art and embellishments. India is a land of vibrant colours and intricate patterns inspired by nature and geometry. The hotel interiors have been inspired by these elements.

The peacock is a regal symbol, unique to India. The banquet hall has been designed to portray the regal nature of a peacock and its interaction with the rain. A brilliant, uninhibited colour palette of deep violet, blues and turquoise brings out the colours of India. The acoustic wall panels contain a gradation from indigo to sea green, embodying the colours of peacock feathers. The shape of each acoustic panel helps in controlling excessive reverberation.

The carpet is a rich bluish purple, strewn with the simplified motif of an abstracted peacock feather. Lighting is a major part of banquet design. Double-level hanging crystal chandeliers with controllable light distribution have been designed for this hall. These chandeliers are also evocative of old Hyderabadi chandeliers. Teardrop crystals hang in an elliptical array from chandeliers, amplifying and scattering light, like water droplets in the rain.

SOUL SPA, Hyderabad /05 Area : 7026 sft Client: - Sheetal Bangur Location : Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad

The brief was to design a spa and salon in an existing commercial floor plate. The aim was to break out of the rigid orthogonal grid layout which was addressed by introducing a sweeping curved wall that wraps itself around two elliptical spaces, containing massage rooms, like a yin-yang. The wall is made of spaced-out louvers which divide the space but still gives a seamless appearance.

The interiors are tinged with a rustic look, incorporating thematic spaces for various treatments. Handmade ceramic tiles add an artistic touch. The salon contrasts with the spa with it’s brightly-lit interior. The colors used in the salon are neutral.

Ground floor accommodating clothing collection and a coffee bar. The suspension of the fashion ware is to give a floating effect, adding to which is the curious hanging mannequins.

Specific care has been taken in selecting the light fixtures which do not harm the fashion garments (CDMT).The idea has been taken in to the mezzanine floor, making it an uncluttered transformable space, to display the art work and sculptures. As a whole the volume unifies the program of the BOUTIQUE, yet valuing its urban and architectural surroundings.
