Kayak from Key Largo to Key West

J

oin American Canoe Association (ACA) instructors and award-winning authors Bill and Mary Burnham on their 2nd annual 100-mile kayak expedition from Key Largo to the Southernmost Point in Key West. Starting March 4th , launching on the 5th and paddling through the 15th, experienced kayakers can join them for either a full or a 1/2 marathon (halfway point, March 10th, Knight’s Key RV Resort and Marina, MM 47, Marathon) where they will have a rest day, optional massages, and a snorkel trip out to the reef. The 6 day, 60 mile half marathon option will “set up camp in time for a delicious dinner, often with some fresh Florida seafood, and watch the sunset. Camping is mix of primitive islands and state parks with hot showers!” This is a strenuous trip, for experienced paddlers able to kayak 12-17 miles per day, in potentially rough seas, and able to do a wet-exit and assisted re-entry. Costs include sea kayaks, camping gear, meals, & camping fee, but discounts are available for bringing your own gear and/or kayak as well as for groups. -VY ZWLJPÄJZ VU [OL [YPW SVKNPUN transportation, post activities or to watch a video, call 305-240-0650, e-mail mary@burnhamguides.com for reservations, or visit www.burnhamguides.com.
