Purposes) if necessary. (Remember: it almost always needs a little bringing forward, but don’t expect it to be one hundred percent before moving on—that’s what the practice is for, after all.) Remember, because of the holographic nature of reality, your e orts to wake up really do help us all, to do that. And you probably have important, more local reasons too. What are they in this session?

• 1 minute: Clearing the Stale Energies Rest

• 10 to 15 minutes: Shamata/Vipassana

• 5 to 10 minutes: Equanimity, Loving Kindness, Compassion (Tonglen), or Sympathetic Joy (pick one)

• 5 minutes: Shamata/Vipassana

At this point, you might want to gradually push the envelope on the time you spend on each step in the Round Robin. Bulk up those brain biceps! It doesn’t matter which of the two Shamata/Vipassana parts is the long one. You decide.

• 30 seconds: Dedication of merit and aspirational prayers.

Dedication and Aspiration

By the power of this compassionate practice May su ering be transformed into peace. May the hearts of all beings be open, And their wisdom radiate from within.
