This NAMB event features a full day of dynamic speakers, lobbying on Capitol Hill and a next-level PAC reception. The LRC is a critical component of NAMB’s robust 2023 agenda. Over the past half-century, NAMB and its professional members have built relationships with legislators & regulators to work collectively toward positive change to impact our marketplace.

Members of the Nominating Committee are elected by a vote of the Delegate Council. The committee nominates candidates for Officer & Director positions, ensures that ballots are mailed in a timely fashion, and determines election results. Except for the Immediate Past President who serves as Chair, no sitting Officer or Director of NAMB is eligible to serve on the Nominating Committee.

The Treasurer chairs the Finance Committee, which is responsible for preparing & submitting recommendations to the Board for the orderly allocation (budgeting), receipt & expenditure of NAMB's funds. The committee also reviews dues, contributions & assessments to assure that NAMB meets its financial obligations.

The FHA Committee reviews the policies, underwriting guidelines & activities of the FHA & HUD. The committee provides suggestions & feedback on potential changes that would directly affect the industry & consumers.

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
Congressman McHenry is serving his 10th term representing North Carolina's 10th Congressional District. In the 118th Congress, he was elected as the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee; he has continued advocating for innovative solutions to banking services & credit for American families & small businesses. One of his proudest accomplishments was the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which helped to fix our nation’s broken tax code and provided much-needed tax relief to Americans.

Anthony Hutchinson brings nearly 30 years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge about the inner workings of
Congress and the Executive Branch, as well as a deep understanding of the housing industry, to his current role at Vantage Score. He has helped shape public policies critical to the housing industry, including the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Law, and the subsequent Qualified Mortgage (QM) and Qualified Residential Mortgage (QRM) rulings, which ensured that homeownership remained affordable & accessible for all qualified homebuyers.

Jeff Markowitz
At Freddie Mac, Jeff Markowitz oversees Government & Industry Relations, Economics & Housing Research and Corporate Communications, which includes PR, internal communications, market insights, digital communications & creative services. He is also Executive Sponsor of Freddie Mac’s Women’s Interactive Network.

Julia R. Gordon was nominated for her role at HUD by President Biden & was confirmed by the Senate on May 12, 2022. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for equal justice, fairness & equity in housing, and consumer protections. She is currently responsible for HUD’s policies, programs & operations supporting the nation’s homebuyers, homeowners, renters & communities; notably for the FHA’s Single Family, Multifamily & Healthcare mortgage insurance programs.

Michael Williams has more than two decades of experience in business advocacy & strategic communication as well as federal & state government service. Prior to founding The Williams Group, Michael was a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Public Policy Americas division, based in D.C. He was responsible for maintaining & expanding the Bank's relationships with members & staff of the congressional tax-writing committees & other

Sandra Thompson is a longtime expert in financial regulation and consumer protection issues. From 2013 to 2021, she served as Deputy Director of the FHFA’s Division of Housing Mission and Goals (DHMG), overseeing various aspects of the agency’s housing, fair lending, and GSE mission activity work. She was subsequently nominated to serve as the agency’s full-time director in 2021. NAMB is delighted to have Ms. Thompson back on the LRC stage!

Representing Ohio’s 8th District, Congressman Davidson is focused on policies that help grow our economy, instill fiscal discipline, advance innovation & limit runaway government expansion. After high school, he enlisted in the Army & earned an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, graduating near the top of his class as a student of American history & mechanical engineering. He then earned an MBA from Notre Dame & spent 15 years in manufacturing. In 2016, he responded to the call of service again & came to work in the House.

House Committee on Financial Services
Rep. Torres is a fighter from the Bronx who has spent his entire life working for the community he calls home. His mother single-handedly raised him & his siblings in a public housing project. In 2013, at age 25, Torres became NYC’s youngest elected official & the first openly LGBTQ person elected to office in the borough representing NY-15 in the South Bronx. He is a member of the Committee on Financial Services & serves as the Vice Chair of the Committee on Homeland Security.
