The Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) provides regulatory oversight for Florida’s financial services industry. The OFR was created in 2003 as the result of the Cabinet Reorganization Act of 2002. Although the OFR is a relatively new agency, its beginnings as a banking, consumer finance and securities regulator date back to the mid-1800s with the creation of the former Comptroller’s Office.

Why PAC and What Is It?
BY MIKE FARRELL, PAC COMMITTEE CHAIRMANFor years, we’ve heard the proverbial question, “What is NAMBPAC?” And, “Why should I support it?” Or, “What does it do for me?”
In brief, NAMBPAC is the voice and honor guard of our industry! That voice starts in the ears of our politicians and, to get there, we must support our allies in Congress. Lobbying takes tremendous effort, patience and time, during which we fundraise, and promote and distribute our messages.
NAMBPAC needs an active membership to support this work. Some contribute annually, while others decide a monthly participation like the $99 Club is better – either way, it’s essential and appreciated.
If NAMB is to truly be the voice of our industry, we must find ways in which every member can participate. The PAC Committee has found a solution:
