Your Community Updates
Come rain or shine, your community undergoes several improvements and upgrades all through the year. Here is a slice of all that was planned and undertaken in and around your neighbourhood in 2024.
Pitch Perfect
Ghadaf Park is now home to three new cricket practice nets - all ready for the sport’s aficionados from Jumeirah Village Circle to take to the turf.
Designed with the aim of offering a dedicated playing and training space for enthusiasts of this much-loved game, this venue offers cricket players in the community the perfect space to practice technique, improve bowling delivery, refine batting and fielding and thus improve player performance within a controlled environment.
The strong and high-impact resistant netting along with the durable astro-turf allows the closed space to withstand the pressure and speed of cricket balls. The nets also offer a high level of safety for players and spectators alike, making it a much sought-after pitch for practice matches, or recreational play for individuals of all ages and skill levels.
New to the game or part of your neighbourhood cricketing team? Stay active with our recreational sporting facilities, without leaving the boundaries of your community.
Step Towards Safety
Safety is at the heart of every improvement we make at Jumeirah Village Circle and our latest initiative is designed to enhance the security and wellbeing of residents throughout the master community.
Road markings across the master community roads in District 19 underwent a recent refresh, boosting visibility for drivers and pedestrians and making it easier to navigate the streets through the clear lanes. In addition, the newly installed speed humps aim to improve the traffic flow ensuring that everyone can move around with confidence and ease.
Stainless steel bollards were installed around the perimeter of Circle Mall, offering an added layer of protection for shoppers near the entrance. These sturdy barriers help keep vehicles at a safe distance. Meanwhile, new safety barricades in District 16, around The Netball Hub were installed to create a safer space for sporting activities, reducing the risk of injuries and providing a safer environment for the local sporting community.
Powered by Sunshine
More than 650 solar gel batteries and charger controllers powering the solar pole lights across the paarks were replaced by new counterparts.
This upgrade is a significant milestone in our commitment to providing sustainable, reliable and energy-efficient solutions for shared community spaces. The gel batteries are a crucial component of the park’s solar-powered systems, ensuring that lighting and other electrical features remain operational even after sunset and parkgoers can enjoy a safer, well-lit environment during evening hours.
Additionally, the charger controllers ensure optimal charging and energy distribution across the park’s solar infrastructure - maintaining its efficiency and longevity, ultimately reducing maintenance costs and minimising the environmental impact.
Sundown Highlights
Decorative string lights adorn Qaret Park as part of our recent initiatives that stand out as a shining example of our commitment to enhancing local spaces. The stunning addition brings a significant transformation to the surrounding greenery and amenities with a touch of elegance, making evening strolls even more inviting.
Shift focus to the Home of Netball – Jumeirah Village Circle’s Nakheel Netball Hub where powerful LED lighting upgrades offer residents and visitors a more secure, enjoyable experience as they enjoy their favourite sport.
Our team installed floodlights perfect for extended play time, maximised court usage, and enhanced visibility for players. Illuminating the court with precision, these robust, energy-efficient lights allow players to react swiftly and showcase their skills as they battle it out under the bright lights.
Whether you’re front and centre on the field or cheering from the sidelines, the new lighting setup ensures everyone has a clear view in the hub.

Neighbourhood Knowhows
Be a Good Neighbour
It’s a wonderful time to reflect on how you could contribute to a positive and happy collective community living experience in your neighbourhood. Save these recommendations that topped our charts and share it with your circle.
Keep it Cordial
Lend a smile and a simple hello to a neighbour you encounter on that evening walk or even the security personnel or service provider who helps you with an enquiry.
Bring Down the Volume
Avoid throwing a big noisy bash or turning up the music to deafening decibels after 10pm or reasonable hours. No neighbour wants to be privy to your loud conversations or arguments.
Park
Appropriately
Park only in driveways or parking spaces that are assigned to you or in zones reserved for parking – do not encroach the neighbour’s spot or run your wheels on the sidewalk or grass. For added safety, always park in reverse in your garage port so that you have a clear field of vision when exiting.
Stay Sustainable
Practice reducing waste, recycling more, making eco-friendly choices and conserving energy.
Avoid littering outside your property and put your trash in the designated bins and areas. Go green and inspire your household, especially the younger folk to embrace it.
Respect Thy Neighbour
If you are having a problem with a neighbour, try first to resolve the situation peacefully in person with respect and understanding –this goes a long way.
Referring the Community Rules as a great reference point could help - for what’s allowed and not allowed within and outside your property. Reach out to your community management team if you still need help resolving or reaching a common ground.
Remembering these community rules help cultivate an open line of communication amongst your diverse pool of neighbours and sustains friendships for a long time to come.
Being Water-Wise
Water conservation is a shared responsibility that begins within our communities. By implementing water-wise practices, each home can make a significant impact. We believe that starting a conversation about mindful water use can initiate a ripple effect creating a cumulative impact in residents’ daily lives.
Below are a few practical ways to reduce your household’s water consumption and subsequently, even manage your water bills
Install water-efficient appliances
▶ Low-flow or dual-flush toilets
▶ Water-saving showerheads
▶ Energy-efficient washing machines and dishwashers (look out for an A-rated energy label)
▶ Aerators on faucets and showerheads
Reduce water usage
▶ Shorten showers
▶ Fully load washing machine or dishwasher
▶ Use greywater for gardening
Optimise irrigation systems
▶ Drip irrigation
▶ Rainwater harvesting
Fix leaks promptly
These tips would be particularly helpful in reducing your water consumption and associated utility charges, in light of the recent revisions in the nation-wide sewerage tariffs.
Hot Tip
Install smart water meters if you do not have them already (recommended by DEWA) and use the linked smart applications to monitor both current and historical detailed readings to keep a tab on your home’s consumption.
