CURRICULUM

NAIS Hong Kong follows the English National Curriculum and IBDP, which are delivered in English. We teach children how to learn, and with us, they find their love of lifelong learning.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

All classes (other than foreign language classes) are taught in English. For students whose first language is not English, English lessons are provided within our dedicated English Language department. We welcome students of all English language abilities.

CHINESE

From Nursery onwards, students have daily Chinese lessons taught by native Chinese teachers. Korean students have the opportunity to leave NAIS Hong Kong with three languages!

TEACHERS

Our teachers are passionate, experienced, and qualified. The majority of the teachers have been trained in the UK and have extensive experience teaching internationally. With access to ongoing professional development and regular on-campus training workshops, the teachers are at the top of their profession.

SPECIALIST TEACHERS

At NAIS Hong Kong, specialist teachers support children with Performing Arts, PE, STEAM, English as an Additional Language and Chinese. This is further enhanced in Upper Primary (Year 5 and Year 6), where there are specialist teachers for Spanish and French.

ACADEMIC

At NAIS Hong Kong, every child has the right to access a high-quality education and our supportive community. Our teaching methods and inclusive environment ensure that all students feel welcome and valued. With small class sizes and differentiated lessons, every child receives the attention they need to reach their full potential. Students at NAIS Hong Kong develop a lifelong love of learning.

PASTORAL

The student’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do!

Each student is supported by their class teacher, teaching assistant, support staff and beyond. Students are allocated into one of four Houses.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Striking a balance between academics and cocurricular activities provides students with a much more well-rounded education, enhancing their learning ability.

After School Activities

Our students participate in an exciting after-school activity every week, allowing them to discover new skills, make friends, and unlock passions! Activities include sports, music, art, cookery, drama, coding, and so much more!

Day and residential trips

Our younger children have local, walkable, or short bus journey trips connected to their class topic for that term. Whether that is a local park, museum, art gallery, or botanical garden, our central Hong Kong location means the opportunities are endless. Our older children venture further and take part in overnight residentials where they build confidence, learn new skills, and create lifelong friendships and memories.

Overnight trips take us to Tanzania, Cambodia, Bali, Laos, Spain, Prague, Yangshuo, Beijing, and many other destinations worldwide.

COLLABORATIONS

We are delighted to have two unique partnerships. These connections provide wonderful opportunities for our students. Both partners visit our school, train our teachers, lead student classes, run parent workshops, help design the curriculum, and provide opportunities to showcase Performing Arts and STEAM across the global network of schools.

Juilliard: Enhancing and elevating our Performing Arts provision.

MIT: Shaping our Science and STEAM curriculum, for all year groups – we even start teaching coding in Reception (age 4) and carry out high-level dissections in science in Primary and Secondary!
