Heartspring has opted to expand within the downtown Wichita healthcare corridor.
Heartspring is expanding and relocating its pediatric outpatient services to the northeast corner of Topeka Avenue and English, across from Phase 1 of the $300 million Wichita Biomedical Campus. The new facility will be a stateof-the-art multi-clinic center focusing on neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and related conditions. The move includes acquiring the 10,100square-foot Brick & Mortar venue and the 10,200-square-foot Casado & McKay office building, with renovations planned to start this fall and occupancy expected in 4-6 years. This development supports the biomedical campus's vision of transforming Wichita into a regional healthcare hub.
MK Wound and Limb Preservation Clinic opens new location in northeast Wichita.
The medical office sector in Wichita continues to thrive, with two notable new tenants joining one of the city’s major developments MK Wound and Limb Preservation Clinic and Elite Compression & Bracing have recently opened at The Waterfront, located near 13th Street and Webb Road MK Wound, previously at Wesley Medical Center, offers specialized wound treatment, while Elite Compression addresses chronic lymphedema. Designed by HFG Architecture, both clinics feature high-end, patient-centered spaces with beach-inspired aesthetics. The two offices, covering 11,600 square feet, highlight the ongoing growth of medical facilities in Wichita's key healthcare corridors.
Global agricultural manufacturer leases Wichita's largest speculative warehouse in its entirety.
Wichita's largest speculative industrial warehouse, at 201,000 square feet, has been leased by AGCO, a global agricultural equipment maker. Located in Ironhorse Manufacturing Park, the building's lease terms are undisclosed, but AGCO plans to move in by early 2025. Tenant improvements are underway. The adjacent 131,700square-foot warehouse remains available, with options for smaller tenant spaces. Ironhorse's development, including industrial revenue bonds, continues to attract interest
ICT Capital, led by Doug and Michael Malone, has acquired the 106,000 square-foot Westlink Shopping Center in west Wichita The center includes a primary strip with Westlake Ace Hardware and four quickservice restaurants: Chick N Max, Starbucks, Taco Bell, and Wendy's. This purchase marks ICT Capital's largest retail acquisition to date While specific financial details were not disclosed, the QSR component was a key factor. ICT Capital plans to maintain current tenants and may consider renovations in the next few years to revitalize the center.
Wichita franchises SweatHouz
SweatHouz, an infrared sauna and cold plunge recovery studio, is set to open its first Wichita location this November in Bradley Fair. Franchisee Hunter Mitchem, co-founder of 6G Holdings, anticipates that the mental health benefits of the studio's services such as improved relaxation and stress management will be surprising to many. The 2,600-square-foot space will feature 10 private suites, each with a sauna, cold plunge, and vitamin C shower, plus an additional cold plunge room. Mitchem's team will also engage with the local community to promote the benefits of these wellness modalities.
Major leases drive two northeast Wichita office buildings to 100% occupancy.
Brittany One and Two, four-story office buildings in northeast Wichita, are now fully leased a milestone for listing agent Patrick Ahern not seen in nearly 20 years. Recent leases by COMCARE and EmberHope achieved 100% occupancy for the 67,000-square-foot buildings Ahern attributed the success to the buildings' quality, competitive rates, and prime location near Wichita State and Bradley Fair, despite the challenges posed by the postpandemic office market.
Everhome Suites, part of Choice Hotels International, is set to build a four-story, 123-room extended-stay hotel at 8133 E. Thorn Drive in northeast Wichita. The $10.2 million project, scheduled to open in November 2025, will feature fully-equipped kitchens, spa-style bathrooms, and amenities including a 24/7 fitness center and guest laundry This will be Everhome Suites’ first Kansas location, chosen for its proximity to Wichita's military, aerospace, healthcare sectors, and the new Integra Technologies facility.
Key Construction, Delano headquarters renovation
Key Construction is renovating its 36,350-square-foot headquarters in Wichita’s Delano District. The overhaul, targeting completion by May 2025, will modernize the building with a new exterior, updated mechanical systems, and enhanced office spaces, including a large second-floor meeting room and an indoor-outdoor area. Founded in 1978, Key Construction has occupied its current location since 1992 and has expanded four times. Despite challenges from rising interest rates, the firm remains optimistic about the local construction market and expects to match or exceed last year's revenue.
