OVERALL MARKET

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

Notable announcements and deliveries in Q3 of 2024 included:

There were two notable construction projects in the core area with Key Construction beginning a renovation on it’s 36,350 SF Deleno headquarters and Aegis Group renovating and finishing out 16,000 SF of its’ new headquarters at 1330 E. 1st Street.

Casey’s General Store appears to be planning a second location in Andover, at 300 S. Andover Road, which is at the southeast corner of Willowbrook Street and Andover Road.

A permit was issued for Dollar Tree’s 18th location in Wichita, which will be located at 13801 W. Maple.

Maverik, a Utah-based gas station convenience store operator is set to build its first location in the Wichita area on the northwest corner of 77th Street and I-135 in Park City.

The Plazzio Place apartments, located within the Plazzio at 13th and Greenwich, began leasing units September 1st.

Park Centre, a 48-acre development near the southeast corner of 61st Street North and Hydraulic Ave. broke ground in August.

WSU Tech’s automotive center completed a $3million dollar renovation and remodel in late August at the City Center Campus on 301 S. Grove St.

The 20,000-30,000 space will include the Walser Automotive Service Lab, Kenworth Heavy Truck Lab and a 72-person lecture hall.

HIGHLIGHTS

. Q3 of 2024 was a busy one in the Wichita office sector with a number of businesses announcing relocations and larger leases.

COMCARE of Sedgwick County Children’s Services announced that they would take 35,000 SF of space at Brittany Two office building in NE Wichita. COMCARE will continue to keep a downtown presence by renovating 235 S. Topeka.

The COMCARE lease, along with a lease signed by Emberhope Youthville, brought a Brittany One and Two, a pair of NE office buildings, to 100% occupancy for the first time in almost two decades.

Two Wichita businesses, Law Co. and LK Architecture, made a significant move in downtown, leasing just over 36,000 SF of space on two floors in the Ruffin Building at 100 N Main.

RETAIL Q3 2024

HIGHLIGHTS

Sales and new arrivals were the story of Q3 in Wichita. ICT Capital, a local real estate development company, purchased the 106,000 SF Westlink Shopping Center in west Wichita.

A long-awaited announcement came in September with Boulevard Theatres purchasing the Old Town Square former seven screen theater, which closed in 2023. The new owners intend to reopen the theaters in November.

Several business announced either new location or new entries into the market with SweatHouz, an infrared sauna and cold plunge recovery studio announcing a 2,600 SF space in Bradley Fair will open in November and Ziggi’s Coffee announced plans to bring 3 locations to Wichita

. Wichita’s largest speculative warehouse- 201,000 SF found a tenant with AGCO, a global agricultural equipment manufacturer and distributor signed a lease in the Ironhorse Manufacturing park.

In Park City, Kice Industries announced that it has been “quietly” expanding it’s operations beyond equipment manufacturing for its customers to include engineering, design, construction and installment services. It has also requested industrial revenue bonds for future headquarters expansion.

Mueller, Inc., a Texas-based metal roofing and steel buildings construction company is prepared to break ground on a 30,000 SF facility north of Park City Arena.
