He regretted that the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) would go down in the annals of history as the most disturbing times of Nagaland and said the little time remaining should be judiciously used to promote peace, humility and oneness to strengthen Naga brotherhood. Azo said there was a time for everything under heaven and it was certainly a time for peace and tranquillity in the state of Nagaland. Azo pointed out that as leaders, one should own responsibility for the regretful incidents and the social setbacks that had taken place in the past few weeks which was totally unfortunate and disturbing. He questioned whether the leaders would be remembered alone for the cringing saga of bloodshed, contempt, misunderstanding, vengeance and retaliation

He said without private schools, Nagaland would not have achieved what it was today and encouraged the initiative of setting up good private schools, educational institutions and colleges in Nagaland in the near future as these have become the strongest pillars of human resources development. He also congratulated the new chief minister, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu and expressed confidence that the education system in the state would improve in the days to come under his leadership as he was a stalwart in the field of education. Appeal for early construction of DAO office in Tsg DIMAPUR: Drawing attention to delay of official works due to the razing down of District Agriculture Office (DAO) Tuensang by fire on December 8, 2016, the Ngangpong village, Tuensang has appealed the director of Agriculture to consider the matter of constructing new office at top priority for the area. A press note by Ngangpong village Tuensang head GB, T.Namang Chang and council chairman, M. Chejingba stated that concern department is yet to construct new office building, causing distress for both staff and public to carry out all official works. It therefore urged the concerned department to take immediate necessary action to ease the hardship being faced by the public of the district.

Kyong Region NSCN/GPRN remembers Khodao DIMAPUR: On March 1, the 7th death anniversary of late Khodao Yanthan, the Kyong Region Authority of the NSCN/GPRN held a function in the office of the Central Administrative Officer in remembrance of the former vice-president NSCN/GPRN. During the function, caretaker/CAO Chonbenthung Lotha highlighted the life history of late Khodao Yanthan. He also urged upon all the members to emulate and preserve the legacy left behind by the visionary leader. Earlier, invocation prayer was said by the region Chaplain Merio Kikon. The assemblage also observed a minute silence in respect of the departed leader. Thereafter, a special prayer was also offered for the collective leadership and all the members of the NSCN/GPRN and the Naga Peace accord.
