DIMAPUR, JAN 5 (NPN): Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) along with all its frontal organizations (WSKH, WSYF, WSSU, WSTH, WSSA, SOUD) have resolved to “impose indefinite non-cooperation to NSCN(Khango) faction”. This was contained in a joint statement issued by the leaders of WSH, WSKH, WSYF, WSSU, WSTH, WSSA and SOUD which was adopted at an emergency meeting held at the WSH Hiyam, Chekiye village on January 5, 2023. The signatories explained that when WSH was informed about the “sudden imbroglio development” within the NSCN (Khango) faction, WSH president along with colleagues, WSYF, general secretary NGBF and GBs of Thilixu village rushed to the Ceasefire monitoring office at Thilixu village with the
intention to defuse and pacify the volatile situation at around 10:45pm on January 4, 2023. However, the signatories said the commander and his cadres loaded their guns and pointed them at the WSH president and his team by “threatening with dire consequences, using abusive words” without ascertaining the intention of the Hoho. WSH and its frontal organisations concluded that such an act cannot be tolerated at any cost, as neither the “sanctity of WSH, its frontal organizations and the GBs can be compromised.” The meeting therefore, resolved to “impose indefinite non-cooperation to NSCN(Khango) faction within the jurisdiction of Western Sumi area which comprises of Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedima district with effect from January 6, 2023.

DIMAPUR, JAN 5 (NPN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie has reminded BJP, both at the Centre and the State, to keep the commitment of “Election for Solution” made to Nagas during 2018 Assembly election campaign. Therie said this while addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan here on Thursday noon. He said it was time for the State BJP to demand settlement and implementation of political solution and also warned that BJP along with UDA would be termed as “liars and traitors” if they failed in this regard. With the visits of Union Home Minster Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled, (Cont’d on p-8) Therie called upon all po-
litical parties and people of Nagaland to be realistic and practical in their demands. He said there was a perception that the visits would determine whether there would be Assembly election or President’s rule would be imposed to implement the political solution. Therie also called on all the legislators to submit their resignations to Shah, if there was any sincerity on their part, and then ask him(Shah) to implement the political solution since Nagas wanted nothing more or less. He also reminded that the term of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly ended on March 12, after which it would not be able to pass the budget, with the exception of having a session to just complete the constitutional process. He pointed out that if
chief minister Neiphiu Rio had any resolve to secure political solution, he should also submit his resignation and then request the Central government to implement the political solution. “If there is an iota of honesty on their part, this is the time they should demand President’srule, defer election and only implement the political solution,” he maintained . Therie also insisted that this should be the stand of the State government. He opined that the Centre could have taken the decision long time back, but for the “hand in glove” relationship between Rio and Muivah, as claimed by Shah. Therie said Shah had instructed Rio to convince Muivah to agree for a final settlement but alleged that both Rio and Muivah were not in favour of it. (Cont’d on p-8)

good governance and rule of law has constantly been “highlighting/exposing various wrong doings” of the present government and garnering the support of the Naga public to “rectify such inequitable issues for the sake of a better Nagaland” It said that one such issue was the “political manipulation” by the state government for the “illegal/irregular extension of the DGP Nagaland. The party said it had no other option but to approach the Union Ministries and the Supreme Court of India to avail justice. As such, RPP said the Nagaland Law Students’ Federation and its vice president Vitho Zao filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
The party acknowledged the role of the apex Court and the UPSC for the appreciable turn of events. RPP claimed that it wrote letter to the union government along with written proof saying that the move to retain the present DGP was “solely for political reasons” and in total contempt of service rules and regulations. Stating that it was against “such blatant sly tactics” practised by the present leaders for unfair advantage, the party hoped that such acts would be condemned by all. RPP affirmed that the present government leaders have been appointed by the people for the benefit and progress of the Naga people and not for any individual’s unending rapacity.
