The original cast of Friends have reportedly signed a deal with Warner Bros to return for a one-off special.

The episode, which will air on HBO Max, will see original members Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry reunite once more for an hour-long special.

According to Deadline, the reunion will see the cast being paid $3m- $4m each for their involvement. There are also reports that the original creators of the long-running show, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, will also be involved in the special.

The news comes after Matthew Perry said “big news is coming” amid continued speculation of a reunion. The 50-yearold actor, who portrayed Chandler in the hit ’90s- ’00s sitcom, wrote the hint on Twitter earlier this week (February 5).

Meanwhile, his costar Jennifer Aniston told The Ellen Show earlier this year that she too was “working on something” with Perry and the other cast members.

Additionally, The H o l ly wo o d Re p o r t e r published an article last November in which an insider said talks were “currently underway for an unscripted reunion special” on HBO Max. The source made it clear, however, that discussions were “far from done and agreements with cast and creatives still need to be hammered out.”

The church founded by Sun Myung Moon -- revered as a messiah by his followers -- distributed face coverings to the 30,000 crowd, but only some donned them.

“I am overwhelmed that I am getting married today,” said Choi Ji-young, who met her husband -- matched by the church -- only two months ago.

“It would be a lie if I said I was not concerned at all about the infection,” said the 21-year-old university student. “But I feel like I will be protected from the virus today.” South Korea has recorded 24 cases of the novel coronavirus outbreak that emerged in neighbouring China, where more than 30,000 cases have been confirmed, and Seoul has barred entry to foreigners who have recently been in Wuhan, the epidemic’s centre.

Festivals, graduation ceremonies, and K-pop concerts have been cancelled over fears large events could facilitate virus transmission, and authorities have asked religious groups to co-operate in preventing it spreading.

The church went ahead with the event because it had been “four years in the making” as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Moon’s birth, said official Jang Youngchul.

But followers from China were asked not to come, he added.

Nearly 6,000 identicaldressed couples from 64 countries -- many of whom met for the first time in recent weeks -- married in Gapyeong, a festive mood filling the venue as newlyweds took group photos and were congratulated by friends and relatives.

J&K HC allows release of ‘Shikara’

MYK C T he Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Friday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking to withhold the release of “Shikara” -- a film on migration of Kashmiri Pandits directed by filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

A division bench of the High Court dismissed the PIL after the state government assured that the

release of “Shikara” would not disturb public order.

“The petition was dismissed after assurances that there will be no law and order problems,” a litigant said.

The petitioners had submitted that “Shikara” has wrongly depicted the facts related to migration of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the early 1990s. They alleged that Chopra has blamed the majority population of the erstwhile state for the migration of Pandits without making any distinction between civilians and the militants, and sought to withhold the release of the movie till it was scrutinised and the objectionable scenes and dialogues removed.

Afederal judge on Thursday delayed R. Kelly’s racketeering, sexual abuse and bribery trial in Brooklyn, New York to July 7, so it would not conflict with the singer’s upcoming trial in a separate Chicago case.

U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly in Brooklyn federal court said the scheduled April 27 trial date in Chicago made the May 18 target to begin the Brooklyn trial “somewhat unrealistic.”

Kelly, who federal authorities have detained in Chicago, attended the Brooklyn hearing by video conference, wearing an orange, V-neck short-sleeve shirt over a white T-shirt. His lawyer Douglas Anton supported the delay, citing “voluminous” evidence to review and that Kelly’s defense lawyers “don’t even know who two of the alleged victims are.”

Questionnaires will be given to about 400 to 500 prospective jurors in May, from whom lawyers hope to find 200 to question further in July.

Known for such hits as “I Believe I Can Fly” and “Bump N’ Grind,” Kelly, 53, has faced sexual abuse allegations dating back more than two decades, including accounts from some accusers in the January 2019 Lifetime documentary “Surviving R. Kelly.”

He has pleaded not guilty to all criminal charges in several cases filed in New York, Illinois, and Minnesota last year.

The Brooklyn prosecutors have accused Kelly of running a criminal scheme in which women and underage girls were recruited to have sexual activity with him.

They also charged Kelly with bribing an Illinois official in August 1994 to obtain a fake identification for the singer Aaliyah so they could get married.

Kelly was then 27 and Aaliyah was 15, but according to published reports their marriage license listed Aaliyah’s age as 18. The marriage was annulled in 1995. Aaliyah died at age 22 in a 2001 plane crash in the Bahamas.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are, reportedly, set to tie the knot in December this year. Film journalist Rajeev Masand revealed the news in a column in Open magazine.

Rajeev Masand wrote in the article, “(For Alia) Most significantly, the year will culminate in marriage. Yes, remember you read it here first: Alia and Ranbir Kapoor are set to tie the knot in December this year, not long after the release of Brahmastra on the 4th of that month. Preparations are already underway; their extended families have been asked to mark off those dates to join in the celebrations.”

Rumours about Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s relationship gathered steam after Alia began posting pictures from the sets of Brahmastra on her Instagram account in 2018, crediting them to “RK” aka Ranbir. The two actors soon began making red carpet appearances together and even attended several B-town weddings hand-in-hand. Alia was also by Ranbir and his family’s side when his father Rishi Kapoor was undergoing cancer treatment in New York.
