This proposal of a Wellbeing Community Centre, located in the heart of Chatham, Kent, aims to engage with the five different types of wellbeing. The original structure, composed of a steel portal frame, has since been retrofitted to showcase an inverted pitch roof. The roof will enable an increase in water collection throughout the building that is used for irrigation in the centre’s greenhouse space, in addition to the heating and cooling of its entirety. The proposal aims to improve food security within Chatham by offering a food bank service and outdoor seasonal greenhouse space to the users of the building. This helps to engage with the circular economy concept with both the food bank, greenhouse, and community kitchen working simultaneously with eachother.
