Fahari yetu Tanzania is an applied heritage conservation programme that supports poverty alleviation and sustainable community development in the country. The programme was established in 2013 as a project of the University of Iringa and registered as an independent NGO in 2019. The name fahari yetu – a Swahili term translating to “our pride” – refers to the organization’s guiding principle of making people proud of their origins, culture and history.
