RETROFIT LED

COLOUR RENDERING (CRI) This refers to how effectively an electric lamp or luminaire can display true colour, when compared against a natural light source like sunlight. Light sources with a high CRI are desirable in colour-critical applications e.g. fashion retail or inspection detailing.

On this scale of 1-100, Goodlight lamps and luminaires consistently achieve 80 CRI or above.

LUMEN MAINTENANCE Another important metric determines how well a light source maintains its lumen performance over time. Due to the longer life of the LED, the updated method of calculating lumen degradation is used termed L70, Rated Lumen Maintenance Life. It’s the measure of the hours it takes a lamp or luminaire to reach 70% of the initial lumen output. It is useful when comparing one product against another, as you are able to determine a lamp whose L70 value is 35,000 hours against another at 20,000 hours. In addition, Goodlight products use premium chips which are LM-80 certified.

LUX Known as the ‘lx’ value, this is the internationally accepted unit of illuminance.

It is the measure of the intensity of light perceived by the human eye. One lux is equivalent to one lumen per square metre, and one lumen is approximately the brightness of one candle.

There is no need to change your fixtures or fittings.

Goodlight™ retrofit LED lamps and luminaires will simply and easily integrate into your existing fittings without reliance on existing control gear.

They can dim, rotate, stay on during an emergency and switch off when no one is around. You simply plug in and start saving.

As the pioneers in retrofit LED since 2006, our technology is light years ahead. Our lamps are better equipped for superior light performance, and designed with functional buildings in mind. When coupled with our luminaire product options, we have LED replacements for at least 98% of any commercial, industrial, retail, leisure or amenity building.

POWER FACTOR (PF)

THERMAL MANAGEMENT

This is the ratio of real power to apparent power. It is the measure of how effectively the electrical power is being channelled within the product. This can vary massively across LED products in general. As a guide, the most efficient LED products have a power factor as close to 1 or 100%, meaning 100% efficiency, or no current being wasted in the electrical system. Goodlight products have a PF of 0.90-0.97, ensuring minimal power losses.

We are continually pioneering unique and innovative cooling solutions, being the first to incorporate ultra-reliable MagLev fan technology with LED and ‘phase-change’ technology in our copper cooling systems! We go a long way to ensure our LEDs are kept cool – so that we can run our lamps and luminaires brighter for longer, whilst maintaining colour integrity!

LED chips don’t like heat. Where heat is allowed to build up within an LED lamp or luminaire, it dramatically affects the lifespan and light output, and reduces both. The Goodlight way is to use premium aluminium heat sinks in our lamps and luminaires as our first defence. The more high-powered the LED, the more complex the cooling solution.

COLOUR TEMPERATURE

The most reliable lamps and luminaires.

This is the exact measure of the CCT rating, or colour temperature of light emitted in Kelvins (K).

Goodlight products are confined to an area within the Kelvin chart from 2,300K up to 6,500K. Below and beyond these values, the LED can produce more orange or blue at opposing ends of the Kelvin colour spectrum.

All of our lamps are rated for 50,000 hours.* We’re so confident in the quality and performance of our products that all our lamps and luminaires are supported by a 5 Year Guarantee against failure.

This is not simply a grand claim based on lab testing, it's supported by all of the live Goodlight™ installations that have already exceeded 5 years. *50,000 hours is equivalent to approximately: 20 years at 7 hours a day 11 years at 12 hours a day 5.7 years at 24 hours a day

DRIVER COMPATIBILITY Choosing the right driver ensures stability, reliability and smoothness of LED output. Many of our products incorporate our own unique, drivers to deliver precise performance. Premium drivers such as Meanwell and Tridonic are configured into our high-performance Goodlight products, which are built to last. Our driver solutions are geared up to provide additional functionality such as multidimmability and emergency battery back-up solutions.

LUMINOUS EFFICACY / LUMENS PER WATT This is the measure of how efficiently a light source converts current into visible light. It is determined by the ratio of luminous flux to power consumption, known as ‘lumens per watt.’ Traditional lighting wastes most of the energy as heat, for instance a traditional halogen spotlight produces only 6 Lumens per Watt, while the equivalent Goodlight LED Spotlight is 10X more efficient at 66 Lumens per Watt.

POWER FACTOR (PF)

Another important metric determines how well a light source maintains its lumen performance over time. Due to the longer life of the LED, the updated method of calculating lumen degradation is used termed L70, Rated Lumen Maintenance Life. It’s the measure of the hours it takes a lamp or luminaire to reach 70% of the initial lumen output. It is useful when comparing one product against another, as you are able to determine a lamp whose L70 value is 35,000 hours against another at 20,000 hours. In addition, Goodlight products use premium chips which are LM-80 certiied.

This refers to how efectively an electric lamp or luminaire can display true colour, when compared against a natural light source like sunlight.

Light sources with a high CRI are desirable in colour-critical applications e.g. fashion retail or inspection detailing.

This is the ratio of real power to apparent power. It is the measure of how efectively the electrical power is being channelled within the product.

This can vary massively across LED products in general.

On this scale of 1-100, Goodlight LED lamps and luminaires consistently achieve 80 CRI or above.

As a guide, the most eicient LED products have a power factor as close to 1 or 100%, meaning 100% eiciency, or no current being wasted in the electrical system. Goodlight products have a PF of 0.900.97, ensuring minimal power losses.

They can dim, rotate, stay on during an emergency and switch off when no one is around. You simply plug in and start saving.

THERMAL MANAGEMENT

As the pioneers in retrofit LED since 2006, our technology is light years ahead. Our lamps are better equipped for superior light performance, and designed with functional buildings in mind.

When coupled with our luminaire product options, we have LED replacements for at least 98% of any commercial, industrial, retail, leisure or amenity building.

Known as the ‘lx’ value, this is the internationally accepted unit of illuminance. It is the measure of the intensity of light perceived by the human eye. One lux is equivalent to one lumen per square metre, and one lumen is approximately the brightness of one candle.

LED chips don’t like heat. Where heat is allowed to build up within an LED lamp or luminaire, it dramatically afects the lifespan and light output, and reduces both. The Goodlight way is to use premium aluminium heat sinks in our lamps and luminaires as our irst defence. The more high-powered the LED, the more complex the cooling solution.

COLOUR TEMPERATURE This is the exact measure of the CCT rating, or colour temperature of light emitted in Kelvins (K). Goodlight products are conined to an area within the Kelvin chart from 2,300K up to 6,500K. Below and beyond these values, the LED can produce more orange or blue at opposing ends of the Kelvin colour spectrum.

LUMINOUS EFFICACY / LUMENS PER WATT This is the measure of how eiciently a light source converts current into visible light. It is determined by the ratio of luminous lux to power consumption, known as ‘lumens per watt.’

Traditional lighting wastes most of the energy as heat, for instance a traditional halogen spotlight produces only 6 Lumens per Watt, while the equivalent Goodlight LED Spotlight is 10X more eicient at 66 Lumens per Watt.

Bluetooth, WIFI or Zigbee which can be used to transfer any other information between luminaires/nodes. There is no security risk of the system being used to store or transfer any other type of data.

SHORT RANGE DEVICE The hubs communicate at 868mHz – declared as SRD (Short Range Device) by Ofcom, complying with the requirements of ETSI 300-220.

The 868MHz channel is a ‘quiet’ band, with very low interference, ideal for uninterrupted device-to-device communication away from the busier 2.4GHz band, which is used by Bluetooth, WIFI, ZigBee, cordless phones and security cameras, which could interfere with its operations.

ONE-WAY COMMUNICATION The system does not require an internet connection to be operated. Internet connectivity can be added, only to allow remote viewing of energy usage and lighting maintenance status. As this is for monitoring only, the information flow is unidirectional (one way) i.e. cannot be used to control the lighting system.

COMPATIBILITY + FUTURE-PROOFING The Light Brain™ app and all components are compatible with LED and non-LED lighting, and can be used to provide control command to all lighting types within the same building. You can choose the type of lighting within an area, and it will work in harmony with the LED lighting.

Product Specification

Risk + Mitigation (Security) Light Brain™ only communicates with the lighting (via 868MHz) – therefore cannot transfer any other type of data within a facility other than the data relating to the lighting and how o en it is being used. Your confidential company data is neither accessed nor at risk.

The single biggest and maximum risk is posed by a staff member, visitor, intruder or hacker taking control of the lighting and turning it off!!

It would also require some element of ‘collusion’ with staff who operate or manage the lighting or have control of it, i.e. the User ID, password or other restricted information.

Light Brain™ has its own built-in security features to safeguard its use, and mitigate these breaches: 1. Where a SWITCH OFF command is received with High Priority, its timing is restricted from 5-30 seconds. This refers to any unauthorised misuse to turn the lighting off. Anyone successful in maliciously switching off the lighting in the facility will only achieve a maximum 30 second opportunity.

2. If any components (hubs, sensors etc) are removed or disabled from the network, then the luminaires will go into SAFE MODE and switch on at 100%. If there is a malicious attack on lighting units or via the app, then SAFE MODE will be triggered.

3. A SWITCH ON command always out-ranks a SWITCH OFF command.

4. A manual OVERRIDE switch will always switch all of the lights on at 100% (ignoring any dimming or daylight scene settings).

An unlimited number of override switches can be installed, as required.

5. Once commissioned, the lighting can be restricted for use with a specific Messenger(s) to limit usage within the facility.

6. If a malicious user has gained access to the system via the User ID being compromised, they can remotely be ‘thrown off’ by blocking the User ID and setting up a new one.

There are ways to protect your facility despite the impact being quite a low priority. A good housekeeping routine includes: • Password protection on the tablet hosting the Light Brain™ app so it has designated access.

• Keeping the System ID details and password restricted to designated staff is recommended.

• An employee, visitor or intruder could use the Tablet and Messenger leſt on site, but only if they know the password associated with device. Keep it restricted.

• A user with their own tablet, app and interface could stand outside the building and attempt to control the lighting inside. They would require ID and password to log on. Keep these safe.

• An internet user could try to connect to the tablet via the internet in attempt to take control of the lighting. This would require collusion with an employee to connect to the individual tablet, and sharing of confidential username and password information. If successful could be used to switch the lights off. A manual OVERRIDE switch could always be used to bring the lighting back to 100%.

DATA PROTECTION Once the lighting has been installed and commissioned, the configuration can be backed up to the cloud. If the tablet goes missing, or is lost, the configuration and data can be restored from the cloud onto a new tablet, without the need for re-commissioning. Any information transferred to the Cloud (configuration data, energy usage and Emergency Lighting test data) is stored in an SQL database on a commercial web service (e.g. Amazon Web Services). The only public access to this is via the Light Brain portal which is password protected. Users can also archive snapshots of their configuration directly from their tablet into their own data storage.

Product SpeciďŹ cation Light Brain Statement of Conformity STANDARDS Light Brainâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s IQ Wireless Lighting Hub meets the definition of a Short Range Device (SRD) as defined by Ofcom via ETSI 300 220. The devices are CE Marked which confirms compliance with all relevant European standards including The Low Voltage Directive (LVD), Electro-Magnetic Conformity (EMC), The Luminaire Standard (BS EN 60598) and the ETSI Standard for SRDs. Standby power is less than 0.5W as required by 2015 legislation.

RF TRANSMISSIONS The operating frequency is 868MHz which is set aside by Ofcom for SRDs. The frequency is different to that used by wireless data systems such as WiFi and Zigbee (both 2.4GHz).

SRDs use Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) and has must have an average Duty Cycle below 1% per device. Our protocol has a duty cycle much lower than 1%. Should you be using other SRDs in the area (typically garage door control and some security alarm systems) then they will be able to co-exist.

The hardware meets the ETSI Standard in terms of RF performance (Max Power, VSWR, Adjacent Channel Interference etc). Protocol-related limits including channel hopping, LBT and Duty Cycle have all been carefully considered and designed to meet and exceed the requirements of ETSI 300 220.

FIRE RATING The integral enclosures are manufactured from V0 Fire-Rated (self-extinguishing) material as required by the Luminare Standard EN60-598.

LED Eco Lights warrants that the following products shall be free from defects for the authorised guarantee period.

For the guarantee purposes, a product shall be deemed as defected if it either totally fails or partially fails.

The guarantee period for each product is 5 Years from the date of purchase (unless stated otherwise), referenced as LED Eco Lights shall replace any of the faulty products that are found to be in breach of the above guarantee during the guarantee period. This guarantee covers the replacement or repair of our product, but not any associated costs of installation, maintenance, transport, delivery or any consequential loss.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS This guarantee is given subject to the following conditions:1. It is only given to, and enforceable by, the direct purchaser of the products, and cannot be assigned without the prior written consent of LED Eco Lights.

2. It only applies if ;a. LED Eco Lights has received full payment for the relevant product. b. LED Eco Lights has received a completed, signed certificate of installation, or proof of guarantee form, certifying inter alia date of purchase and installation of the relevant product within 30 days of first installation of the relevant product. This must be supported by proof of payment, or invoice, where purchased through a third party. c. The claim is notified to LED Eco Lights within 30 days of the defect in the relevant product coming to the notice of the said direct purchaser. d. to LED Eco Lights, unaltered, to enable it to examine the said product, to determine the cause of defect and patterns of usage (and provided that LED Eco Lights shall also be entitled to enter the premises where the relevant product was installed / used, to inspect where and how the lights were used) ; - and e. The relevant products are correctly wired, installed and used (including in terms of electrical values and environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity, in which they are operated and used) in accordance with LED Eco Lights instructions, specifications and written literature issued from time to time.

3. It does not apply where a defect in the LED product or its operation is caused by :a. Act of God b. Accidental damage, malicious damage, vandalism, or any abuse, misuse or abnormal use, or use in violation of any applicable standard, code or instructions for use or failure to follow instructions or recommendations from LED Eco Lights, or the manufacturer in relation to storage, installation, environment or maintenance ;- or c. The installation of the relevant product or the supply of electricity to it, or any modifications made to it by anyone other than LED Eco Lights.

4. Aside of this guarantee, and any other included under the same Agreement, LED Eco Lights gives no warranties or makes no representations regarding its products by it, including their performance, except as required by relevant law. In particular without limitation no guarantee or representation of, or term or condition relating to, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose in relation to its products is to be made, inferred or implied.

5. Provided LED Eco Lights replaces a defected product in accordance with this guarantee statement, LED Eco Lights shall have no further liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, cost or expense arising from such defect, except where the defect was caused by its negligence or wilful default.

All sales of LED products by LED Eco Lights are made subject its standard terms and conditions of sale, a copy of which has been provided to the purchaser, and can be made available at any time, at the purchaser’s request.
