Weaving Threads of Art, Culture, and Construction

University Thesis Project
The project design journey blends Persian craftsmanship, organic construction, and sustainability into a harmonious tapestry, seeking equilibrium through rhythm, contrast, and traditional Persian essence. Design thrives in the details, where every connection tells a story and fosters functionality, crafting multisensory experiences that promote individuality for anyone walking through the space.
Culture, like porosity, reveals its essence through subtle details. As a minority, our culture’s richness is often overlooked but invites deeper exploration.
Honoring Nader Khalili’s legacy of sustainable Cal-Earth construction, the project also focused on sustainability and local materials. Each design element celebrates Persian beauty and craftsmanship, aiming to elevate awareness in the Western world and create spaces that promote individuality, sustain the environment, and enrich cultural understanding.
Final Design Model
Embodying porosity and transparency, this space invites viewers to engage and explore, sparking curiosity with its inviting design and intricate details.

Why pores and fragments?
Initial Conceptual Drawing
Life is a series of incomplete imperfections that we develop from our childhood and culture. They teach us and drive us to the next step. It is better to feel through fragments than chase the nonexistent "perfection."
"Fragments"
The decision to open up walls in small symmetrical grids for the building's walls is closely related to the concept of porosity and the overarching theme of the exhibit. By incorporating this design element, the space embraces a sense of permeability and interconnectedness, mirroring the porous nature of cultural identity and human experience.
"Porosity"
Initial Conceptual Drawings/ Graphic Development
Just as pores are subtle yet profound, culture reveals its essence in the intricate details and fragments woven into our lives. Like pores, the layers of the exhibition center hold the richness of our identity, waiting to be explored. As a minority, feeling overlooked on the surface, our culture showcases itself through subtle nuances, inviting others to delve deeper.

The pavilion structure, characterized by its curved organic clay form and integration of greenery, serves as a vital component of the project design and flow. It seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings, reflecting the project's emphasis on Persian inspired design and its strong connection with the environment. The inviting gathering spaces created by the curved forms and open design of the pavilion encourage interaction and community engagement, making it an ideal venue for artist talks, workshops, and cultural events.

Concept Inspired By Natural Coral
The space is designed to include a tea shop with floor seating on the roof, providing an experience of closeness and connection that mirrors Persian culture.
Persian tea holds a central place in Iranian culture, symbolizing hospitality, warmth, and social connection. The tradition of tea drinking in Persia dates back centuries and remains integral to contemporary Iranian gatherings and community interactions.
The varying levels of privacy, determined by different elevations and the strategic use of negative space, guide the flow of the space while allowing for individual experiences. This design evokes different emotions by balancing privacy and openness, creating unique interactions.

Space Design Proposal
NEXT company wanted to design this new workplace in Dallas, Texas as a destination for every-one to be collaborative, supporting individuals in the community in working with each other, as well as providing interactive spaces to engage with future clients.
The abstract conceptual idea of the designed space derives from the geometrical shape of circles and the idea of nature. The circle shape is a base of nature, unity, and community. the concept of nature and nature interaction with the space, in ways of nat-ural light, materials, and curvilinear elements.
Drawing inspiration from these principles, the space is crafted to elevate the signifi-cance of natural light, integrate curvilinear elements into its design, and seamlessly blend open and enclosed spaces using curves. Emphasizing multi-user engagement and interactivity, it facilitates a user-friendly environment while prioritizing natural circulation paths.
The conceptual idea of continuum represented in the design through the use of circular forms and curves as well as the material palette, evolved from the study of the cyclical rhythm of the natural world. Circles represent life, movement, time, unity and community.
