At Nadace Partnerství we empower people to protect and improve the environment d we provide grants d we provide expertise and services d we transfer best practices d we educate We support public participation in d tree planting d improving conditions for sustainable transport d creating vibrant public spaces d safe routes to schools d protecting natural habitats d using renewable sources of energy We do not solve your community’s problems; we help you solve them yourselves!

The key milestones in the history of Nadace Partnerství 1991/1992 American foundations initiate a new grant program in Prague for the environment and democracy called Environmental Partnership for Central Europe.

1998/1999 We broaden our activities to include a new programme on cycling routes entitled Greenways. We begin cooperating with corporate donors and administer foreign aid programmes (Luxembourgh, USA, Germany).

1994/1995 The Environmental Partnership office moves to Brno and the Czech foundation Nadace Partnerství is registered.

We assist with the establishment of the Donor’s Forum in Prague.

2001/2002 We commence developing community planning methods and first “Tree of the Year” contest. We also give out our first traffic calming award. This period also marks the active start of the public service organization Partnerství, o.p.s.

2004/2005 We launch a successful donor SMS campaign for the Tatra Mountains. Together with the Charta 77 Foundation we iniate the Josef Vavroušek Award. We assist with preparation of the Veronica Centre in Hostětín— the first public passive building in the Czech Republic.

We begin the Cyclists Welcome certification scheme.

2010/2011 We help with coordination of Prince Charles’ visit to Hostětín. We launch Block Grants (from the Swiss Financial Mechanism) for non-profit organizations. The Tree of the Year contest is expanded to the European level. We receive a donation for the construction of a passive building and educational garden with construction starting in fall 2011.

‘Seeing is believing,’ said Prince Charles during his 2010 visit to the model ecological village of Hostětín. Nadace Partnerství is intent on successfully fulfilling its mission over the next twenty years. We plan on doing this not only by supporting civil society and environmental work through grants and our environmental programmes, but also by transforming our Brno headquarters into an NGO educational centre with exemplary environmental technologies and management.
