CONCROBIUM PROTECT

Spore, biomass and particle binder based on salt compounds, which forms a protective film with a high pH value of 11.1 – 11.5

Concrobium penetrates and binds to the substrate to create a salt-based invisible crystalline shield with a high pH value, which has a (natural) inhibitory effect on mould growth.

Use where mould has been cleaned and removed with Serum SBC or Serum 1000, where the aim is to encapsulate any remaining spores etc. biomass and protect the surface against future mould growth.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

After cleaning mould with Serum SBC or Serum 1000 on rough surfaces such as wood or plaster, residues of biomass can still be found on these surfaces, even after thorough cleaning. In addition, these surfaces are often still contaminated with spores and particles, which can adversely affect the test results of the remediation work if released into the air.

Concrobium Protect is a unique salt-based formulation which, during drying, encapsulates and binds residues of mould spores, biomass and particles to the surface, to prevent these being released into the environment. The natural salts also form a protective, thin and diffusion-open crystalline film with a high pH value 11.1 – 11.5. The high pH inhibits the growth of mould.

Mould grows ideally on surfaces with a pH value of 5-7, however most fungi already grow in the pH range 3-9. Mould usually does not grow in alkaline environments, therefore Concrobium Protect will naturally inhibit the growth of mould.

Concrobium Protect not only adheres excellently to inorganic substrates, such as plaster and mineral wool, but also on organic substrates such as wood or plasterboard. Concrobium Protect can be used in all rooms, including living rooms, bedrooms, children’s rooms and kitchen areas, etc.

• Prevents the release of spores, particles and mould components into the room air.

• Forms a protective film with a high pH value that inhibits mould growth.

• Good adhesion on organic and inorganic surfaces.

• Used for mould remediation in homes, businesses and institutions.

• Prevention of mould after floods or cleaning up water damage.

• Pre-treatment of building materials to prevent mould growth.

• Easy to apply

• No outgassing

• No VOCs

• Color- & odorless liquid

• Diffusion open

• Apply with a sprayer, fogger, airless, etc.

Concrobium Protect is not a biocide, but an agent that inhibits the growth of mould by forming a salt-based, invisible, crystalline shield with a high pH value that separates the mould from its food source.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

USE IN SMALLER AREAS

Remove coarse dirt from the surface to be treated. Spray the area thoroughly. Wipe off excess liquid/Concrobium. Allow Concrobium to dry overnight (16 to 18 hours). Do not rinse afterwards. If the surface has visible fungal growth or stains, further cleaning may be necessary. Where the surface has been contaminated for a long time, stains or pits can be difficult to repair.

APPLICATION OF CONCROBIUM AS MIST WITH FOGGERS

In large or inaccessible areas, apply Concrobium using a fogger/ cyclone. Consult with NAC Europe about suitable equipment. Where mould is suspected or found under floors or behind walls, barriers must be removed so that Concrobium can make direct contact with mould-infested surfaces.

1. Close windows and doors in the area to be treated.

2. Remove coarse dirt/mould from the surfaces to be treated.

3. Ensure even and complete coverage by moving/rotating the fogger. A room of 36 m2 requires about 4 L and takes about 25 min.

4. Let the mist settle for 15 to 20 min.

5. Remove any excess moisture with a clean cloth or paper towel.

6. Let the surfaces dry overnight (16 to 18 hours). Open windows for faster drying.

Do not dilute. Concrobium must come into direct contact with mould to be effective.

Concrobium is harmless to most materials incl. textiles and furniture fabrics. When in doubt, perform a test on a small, inconspicuous area. Materials that are vulnerable to water must be wiped off immediately after contact with Concrobium. Too much application can in some cases result in residue which can easily be wiped away with a cloth moistened with Concrobium. Concrobium provides ongoing and long-term protection against fungal growth, as long as the surface is not soiled, covered with another material, e.g. paint, and do not rinse/rinse with water or other liquids. If this is the case, Concrobium should be applied at regular intervals.

Concrobium should be included as part of a mold remediation procedure that takes into account the current conditions surrounding the mold remediation task. For further information on general precautions when handling mold and the use of Concrobium, please contact NAC Europe.
