Giolitti is one of the largest producers of ice creams in Rome and Italy in general. Original Idea for the first international Giolitti shop front is to read the essence of the Italian life style. La Piazza e La passeggiata. The GELATO represents the metaphor of relaxed time, the break with routine and a transversal moment of socialization and de-inhibition. Giolitti´s architecture shows the desire to design relational spaces that communicate symbiotically with the outside. The question : Could a private business reach to affect a public space constantly with its architecture? The Answer : Yes. The strategy focuses on the internationalization of a brand without affecting the characteristics of traditional Italian craftsmanship.
