To maintain proper drainage, you should have a drain hole at least the size of a nickel for smaller pots and several larger holes for larger pots. 3. Over-fertilization People running a nursery often commit a mistake of over-fertilization to grow the plants as soon as possible. But, the step is not right because applying fertilizers more than required is not good for both the plant and soil. It will deteriorate the plant quality.
