Update Your New Address. Share your NEW address, friends & family want to know! Make sure to update your address with your creditors and companies. Get a Professional Deep Clean. It’s your new home, get a quality deep clean. It’s a good idea to schedule a professional deep clean before you start moving in. Leave it to the professionals to give you the deep clean your home deserves.
Change the Locks, and Reprogram Your Garage Doors. Unless you’re buying a brand-new home from a builder, you need to have the locks changed. You don’t know who all has a key to your home, and that can be scary. Get your garage doors reprogrammed so they only work with the remotes you have. It’s possible someone out there got their hands on an extra garage remote at some point.
Set Up Utilities, Cable and Internet. If you haven’t already, set up your cable and internet to transfer to your new home. Another option to consider is “cutting the cord”… No, this doesn’t mean living without WiFi or TV! FreeTVee, a local company, can help you cut your cable costs and utilize streaming for your needs (www. freetvee.com). You will also need to contact the local water, electric and gas companies to have services turned on or transferred to your name.
Set Up Your Home Security System. Most homes these days come with a security system installed. However, it will not be active when you move in. You’ll need to contact a home security company to come out and get you set up.
LONE TREE ART CENTER
Since opening in 2011, the Lone Tree Arts Center has garnered national attention for its innovative programming. Owned and operated by the City of Lone Tree, LTAC has created a dynamic model for the performing arts in both presenting and producing performances for all ages. In addition to producing its own theatrical shows each year, LTAC collaborates with premier Colorado performing arts companies to present their productions in Lone Tree and serves as a home for the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra and the Denver Concert Band.
An intimate venue with every seat closer than 60 feet from the stage, LTAC’s Main Stage Theater has become a prime location for intimate concerts with headline performers such as Art Garfunkel, Randy Newman, Lea Salonga, Ruben Studdard, and more. Each season, national and interna tional touring artists take to the Main Stage to delight audiences of all ages – there is truly some thing for everyone. Summertime brings the annual Tunes on the Terrace concert series, taking advantage of the Arts Center’s outdoor music theater.
In addition to Main Stage performances, the Lone Tree Arts Center focuses on programs that make an impact in our community.
cally designed for children and families to experience arts and culture outside the classroom and inside a world of imagination through performances, work shops, and pure entertainment to foster the growth of visual and performing arts, science, and cultural understanding in our community.

SEEDLINGS is a family program designed to engage parents and young children (toddlers through kindergartners) in arts, culture, and science at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Seedlings programs are offered once a month on Tuesday mornings, and there are always two sessions (9:30am and 11am) to accommodate all that are interested. Best of all, the programs are affordable – $3 per person, with children ages one and under free.
The Lone Tree Arts Center has become nationally recognized for SENSORYFRIENDLY PERFORMANCES for families of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, sensory processing disorder, or other conditions. Performances are presented in a relaxed, sensory-friendly way to ensure everyone has access to live entertainment at an affordable rate. Performers modify shows to ensure there are no startling noises or visually over-stimulating components. Sound levels are kept lower than normal and lights in the audience are higher than normal, ensuring audience members can see each other. Audience members are free to come and go if need be (there is always a “safe room” available) and are asked to wave hands rather than clapping.
The Lone Tree Arts Center also recognizes that seniors in our community have different needs than people at other stages in their lives. ARTS IN THE AFTERNOON is a monthly

LOCAL TIP

“Fabulous furniture store to outfit any room in the house is Colorado Style located off of C470 and University. Locally owned business with furniture, accessories, art, rugs and lighting. Every style for every room ... love, love, love them!”
– Chrissy S.
Daniels Park is one of the best spots for sunsets in Denver and mountaintop views of Colorado’s expansive Front Range. Vista views from the park are enjoyed as it is perched high above the Front Range with panoramic views of Pike’s Peak, Long’s Peak and the Denver skyline. The park is popular for those who love hiking, biking, bison viewing and picnics all year round.
The trail system provides trails for walking, running, and biking. You can walk as little as 0.2 miles or as far as 5.4 miles. The park’s trail starts at the Shelter House and extends to the top of the bluff, to Grigs Road, and eventually connecting with the Douglas County East/West Trail.
The Tallbull Memorial Grounds is an exclusive ceremonial site that is fenced off, gated and only open to the public during Native American powwows. There is an annual powwow that is held every Labor Day weekend for the public to attend.

LOCAL TIP

“For a simple, casual meal, nothing beats the Red Robin in Lone Tree! There’s something for everyone, from a California chicken burger to a Red’s Tavern Double. While you’re there, be sure to try my favorite appetizer, the onion rings. The super-friendly waitstaff serve great milkshakes, too!”
– Wynne S.
Two sets of paired cottages will house approximately 32 residents, offering small, leased apartments for those who can enjoy semi-independent living. A central community building called The Big Blue House will be home base for connection, activities and fellowship, a space designed to encourage gathering of the residents, friends and families. There will be 24/7 Tall Tales Ranch-trained aides, similar to the college “RA” model, to ensure resident safety, coordination with advocate services, and that needs are met. In the interest of inviting neuroand socioeconomic diversity, a small number of apartments will be leased to those qualifying for attainable housing – teachers and first responders, for example – who can serve as good neighbors and stewards among this diverse community of residents.
A community garden featuring raised vegetable beds and a family orchard, and adjacent walking trails offering access to abundant open spaces, will offer educational gardening and environmental opportunities to residents and visitors.

PROGRAMMING IS HAPPENING NOW!
Though not yet existing in brick and mortar, Tall Tales offer a variety of programs for those 18 and older in the I/DD community. These include*:
• a community-based social adventuring group
• a trailblazing neuro-diverse Young Professionals Board
• an annual talent show ensemble
• the Powderhound Ski Team
... and, coming in 2021, a new vocational program offering supported coffee shop employment training on TTR’s new mobile coffee truck, which will serve as a bridge program while they await the construction of the ranch’s coffee shop.
Shifting in 2020 for COVID restrictions, many programs have had to become virtual. Until people are able to gather safely again, a variety of classes are being offered, including yoga, fitness, “armchair traveling,” games, trivia and other avenues for social connection and community building during these isolated times.
To learn more about programming opportunities, contact Director of Programs, Sally McCance, at sally@talltalesranch.org.
Tall Tales Ranch calls their ambassadors unapologetically different. With thoughtful, supportive vocational and employment opportunities, a slate of planned community events, and chances for meaningful interaction with those who live differently from ourselves, they look forward to the day Lone Tree and surrounding communities make visits to their neuro-inclusive coffee shop, community barn and gardens the brightest moment of their week.
Lone Tree has welcomed Tall Tales Ranch with open arms, including their immediate neighbor to the south, the historic Schweiger Ranch. The two nonprofit organizations already enjoy a blossoming partnership, as the ranch offers opportunities for the Tall Tales ambassadors and others to volunteer and take part in cultural events and activities at the ranch.
To learn more about supporting Tall Tales Ranch’s mission, or the capital campaign that will make possible that ribbon-cutting day, please contact Development Director, Heather Lauren Quiroga, at heather@talltalesranch.org or 720.227.5363.
