Get your engines going More than 100 dedicated volunteers have been working hard to prepare for the Queensland Air Museum’s next Engines Alive Day on April 7. The Kiowa helicopter is now on display, the engine crews have been busy tuning up the massive engines they will showcase on the day, and free Wi-Fi at the museum allows a more interactive experience with QR codes appearing on more display boards so the history of each fascinating aircraft can be read on your smartphone. The team at Queensland Air Museum (QAM) never sits still and there are always projects being completed and new acquisitions being sought.
The team really believes in their vision of preserving Australia’s aviation heritage. With more than 75 historic aircraft and many other displays to see every day of the year (except Christmas), the museum comes alive when it cranks up the engines just a couple of times a year.
