BECOMING GIRLILLA

Jennie Smythe knows a thing or two about resilience. In her memoir Becoming Girlilla: My Journey to Unleashing Good— in Real Life, Online, and in Others, Jennie opens up about her remarkable journey from an uncertain career path to becoming a powerhouse in digital marketing. As the Founder and CEO of Girlilla Marketing, she has represented some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Willie Nelson, Brooke Shields, and Kristin Chenoweth.

Jennie’s career path is anything but traditional. Before founding her award-winning firm, she held key roles at Elektra, Disney’s Hollywood Records, YAHOO Music!, Warner Bros. Records, and Clear Channel. Along the way, she found herself at the forefront of

merging music with digital strategy—a space that allowed her creativity and expertise to shine. But her path wasn’t without obstacles. In Becoming Girlilla, Smythe recounts her early struggles in the entertainment industry, her experience navigating professional uncertainty, and her courageous battle with breast cancer. With refreshing honesty and wit, she shares the challenges of launching Girlilla Marketing, including the tough early days and the process of regaining control of her company after an acquisition.

In a recent interview with our Publisher, Jennie reflected on her journey, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and adaptability in both business and life. Her story is a powerful reminder that success isn’t always linear—and that embracing setbacks can lead to remarkable outcomes.

Becoming Girlilla is filled with laugh-outloud moments, raw vulnerability, and hard-earned wisdom. Jennie’s candid reflections offer practical advice for professionals seeking to build an authentic presence online, while also encouraging readers to embrace change and find purpose in their own journeys. As Jennie herself puts it, “There’s no secret. To be successful, you must go to work every day

like it’s your first day on the job.” She invites readers to step into that mindset and embrace their own path to unleashing good.

For those eager to dive into Jennie’s story, Becoming Girlilla is available to order now. Published by Forefront Books’ Resolve Editions (Simon & Schuster), the memoir offers readers a front-row seat to Smythe’s unique perspective on leadership, digital marketing, and resilience. A NIGHT TO REMEMBER! NASHVILLE’S BIG BASH

If there’s one thing Nashville knows how to do, it’s throw a party—and Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash was the ultimate way to welcome 2025. With thousands of fans gathered at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, the city once again proved why it’s the epicenter of live entertainment.

Headliners Keith Urban, Kane Brown, and Jelly Roll delivered powerhouse performances, each bringing their signature sound and energy to the massive crowd. Urban’s electrifying guitar solos, Brown’s smooth vocals, and Jelly Roll’s heartfelt lyrics had everyone singing along into the new year. Rising stars Shaboozey and Brittney Spencer also took the stage, adding their own unique flair to an already stacked lineup.

Of course, no Nashville New Year’s Eve would be complete without dazzling fireworks and the iconic Music Note Drop at midnight. As the final seconds of 2024 ticked away, confetti rained down, champagne toasts filled the air, and the Music City skyline lit up in celebration. The night was broadcasted live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, giving fans nationwide a front-row seat to the action.

Surprise guest appearances added to the excitement, making the night even more unforgettable. While the temperatures may have been cool, the energy from the

crowd was hotter than ever, proving once again that Nashville’s Big Bash is one of the best ways to ring in the new year.

If you missed it, don’t worry—there’s always next year. But one thing’s for sure: Nashville set the bar high for 2025, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next big celebration! MN

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT JORDANA BRYANT

ordana Bryant has always had music in her blood. Growing up in Pennsylvania, she spent countless hours watching her dad play guitar, eventually joining in by making up her own melodies and lyrics. “That’s really how I fell in love with songwriting—it felt so natural, like telling a story through music,” Jordana says. Music quickly became her way of expressing herself, and from that point on, she knew it was something she wanted to do

That storytelling gift became her strength, and during the pandemic, Jordana found a way to share it with the world. She began going live every night, playing songs and connecting with people who needed a sense of community. For many, those livestreams became something to look forward to, and Jordana realized how powerful music could be in bringing people together, even when everyone was phys-

After graduating high school at just 16, Jordana moved to Nashville to pursue her dream. Immersing herself in Music City’s vibrant scene taught her an important lesson: the key to standing out is to stay true to yourself. “In a place with so much talent, the most important thing you can do is stay true to yourself. There’s only one you, and the more you lean into what makes you unique, the more people will connect with your music in an authentic way,” Jordana shares.

That authenticity shines through in her live performances as well. Touring with Alexandra Kay and Lauren Alaina gave Jordana unforgettable moments on stage—but it’s the faces in the crowd that stick with her the most.

Hearing fans sing along to her songs is a reminder of why she loves what she does, making every late night and long drive worthwhile.

Now, Jordana is celebrating the release of her sophomore EP, produced by Nathan Chapman and Seth Mosley. The project carries a powerful theme—that when something doesn’t work out, it’s not the end of the story, just a step closer to what’s right. Working with Chapman, who produced Taylor Swift’s early albums, was especially meaningful for Jordana, given how much those records inspired her own love for music. Meanwhile, her longtime collaborator Seth Mosley brought a comfort level that allowed Jordana’s vision to shine through.

“I just hope these songs connect with people and become part of their stories, just like the music I grew up on became part of mine,” Jordana says.

As for what’s next? Jordana is looking ahead to a busy 2025 with more music, more touring, and plenty of memorable moments still to come. With her heartfelt storytelling and down-to-earth charm, Jordana Bryant is quickly becoming a rising star to watch.

ALEXA GOLDIE

AT THE LISTENING ROOM

On May 20th, 2024, Alexa Goldie hosted a writer’s round at the famous Listening Room Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee to a full room. This is the first stage Alexa ever performed on in Nashville, back in 2019 alongside powerhouse writers Jenn Bostic, Phil Barton and Jeff Cohen. This was Alexa’s 6th time playing on this stage and she mentioned that “every time is as special as the first”.

The purpose of writers rounds at the Listening Room are to have songwriters tell the stories of their songs to an audience who are there to listen! Alexa mentions that she loves playing Broadway gigs, but there is something special, rewarding and refreshing about playing her original music.

Sharing the stage with two well-known Nashville writers, Becca Rae and Karleigh Paige Schmidt, the audience was in for a treat.

Singing five released singles and debuting one new song, Alexa had the crowd’s attention at her fingertips. She started the round with her uplifting song He Would, “I was on the phone one day with my best friend and she was complaining about all these red flags and sketchy things that her boyfriend was doing. I’m not one to confront people but when she called me back a few days later and he was still doing these things, I didn’t know how to tell her. So, I wrote a song about it and released it to country radio…by the way, they’re no longer together” (audience laugher).

She followed this one up by singing her upbeat single Come on Home.

She introduced the song by asking the crowd to let her know after the show if they think she should release it. “Last year I was back in my hometown grocery shopping, and I ran into my exes’ Mom. I was

quickly reminded how close I was with her, but I could tell she was holding our breakup against me, because she had no idea who actually made things end (cough, him). I wanted to blurt out all the horrible things her son had done to me, but I knew that wouldn’t help me, it wouldn’t only hurt her. That’s what inspired this song, called Break a Mama’s Heart.”

The crowd’s reaction was like no other I have seen at the Listening Room. There were grown men and women with tears in their eyes and letting out a loud applause at the end of the song. A lady sitting by herself at one of the front tables yelled out, “You must release that. Every girl and every mama can relate to that. What a beautiful song.”

To follow she sang her hit songs Bad Boy and Set in Stone. Audience members were caught singing along to the words of Bad Boy and Set in Stone, as they had heard it on SiriusXM. The room was completely silent; you could hear a pin drop any time Alexa sang.

Her last song Not My Own was a crowd favourite, leading to the loudest applause and roaring cheers. “Being an independent artist can be hard and there are times when you feel like there is an easier journey you could take through life. If you are chasing your dream, or supporting someone else’s, I think you will relate to this song.”

As the show came to an end, Alexa was bombarded with a line of 90% of the audience waiting in a line to take pictures, talk to her and get autographs. One fan started crying as she walked up to Alexa, saying that hearing her song Not My Own was what kept her going. Other fans mentioned to Alexa that they had changed their travel plans to stay in Nashville an extra 3 days to watch her show.

After nearly an hour of greeting her fans, Alexa mentioned to me that she is always pleasantly surprised after every gig because the size of the crowds that recognize her music keeps growing; her fan base is expanding at a rapid rate.

Listen to Alexa Goldie on all platforms.

WHAT IS LYMPHATIC MASSAGE?

Lymphatic massage is a gentle and rhythmic technique that targets the lymphatic system—a network of vessels that help remove waste and boost your immunity. By stimulating lymph flow, this massage supports the body’s natural detoxification process, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized from the inside out.

CAN YOU DO IT YOURSELF?

Yes, it’s entirely possible! There are simple techniques you can try at home, such as using your hands or a soft brush to perform light, sweeping motions. Just make sure to follow tutorials or seek guidance from a professional to ensure you’re doing it correctly.

SEEKING PROFESSIONAL HELP: WHERE TO GO FOR A LYMPHATIC MASSAGE

When seeking a professional lymphatic massage therapist, it’s essential to do

your research. Look for certified practitioners with experience in lymphatic drainage techniques. Spas, wellness centers, or clinics that offer therapeutic massage services are good places to start. Remember, it’s important to choose someone skilled and reputable who makes you feel comfortable.

THE AMAZING BENEFITS OF LYMPHATIC MASSAGE

Firstly, it aids in detoxification by assisting in the removal of waste and toxins from your body, leaving you feeling lighter and more energized. It also supports a healthy immune system, improves circulation, reduces water retention, and can even help diminish the appearance of cellulite. It’s truly a versatile and beneficial treatment!

But that’s not all. Lymphatic massage is particularly useful for post-surgical recovery, as it helps reduce swelling and speeds up the healing process. Athletes often turn to this technique for muscle recovery and injury prevention. And let’s not forget the incredible relaxation it brings. Stress melts away, tension eases, and you’re left feeling peaceful and rejuvenated.

Whether you choose to explore the DIY route or seek professional assistance, lymphatic massage is a wonderful practice to promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and a healthy lymphatic system. MEET BRIAN ROBERTS

Have you ever noticed that many men and women suffer in silence? I’m a solutions guy. I know we all have multiple problems, but many people don’t realize that a slight change in our diets and what sits at the edge of our forks and spoons can make all of the difference in the world. Trust me when I say this Louisville, KY southern guy loves his comfort food, but I’ve learned to do it in moderation. I’m a performer and I’ve acted and sang live on stages from the TPAC at Jackson Hall opposite Robin Givens and Leon Robinson, all the way up to the Bushnell in Hartford, CT. Fourteen years ago, one close call after a night singing in the studio changed my life and I’m forever grateful. That led to surgery to remove scare tissue from acid reflux, my healthy diets, and products like NEMUI Nutriswish and NEURO. After two years of active rehab and dieting, I’m now healthier and happier than ever. Glutathione is the active ingredient in NEUMI Nutriswish and a swish for 30 seconds in the morning and again at night can make all the difference in the world. Stay healthy and safe and don't forget to swish with Nutriswish. Contact us at 502-235-0617 for professional health and wellness services. www.diamondvippromotions.com

NASHVILLE HOME & GARDEN

MyNashville’s top professionals to keep your home and garden looking it’s best!

YOUR MIDDLE TENNESSEE REALTOR

Finding a great Realtor® often comes down to having faith—faith that they’ll have your best interests at heart and guide you through one of life’s biggest decisions. For Ginny Newell, a Tennessee-based Realtor® with 18 years of experience, faith isn’t just a key part of her business—it’s the foundation of everything she does.

Growing up in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Ginny was the oldest of four children in a family that blended the discipline of a Marine Corps father with the creativity of a spiritual, artistic mother. “I was always a perfectionist,” Ginny recalls, noting her time as a band kid, playing flute, and later excelling in academic clubs.

“I never saw myself as a Realtor®,” Ginny admits. “I’m more of a numbers person. My husband calls me ‘spreadsheets,’ and I love market analysis.” Yet, her background in numbers and her dedication to research quickly made her a standout in the industry. “I thrive on challenges, especially when negotiating on behalf of my clients. I love the challenge of making my listings stand out,” she says, emphasizing her knack for aggressive negotiation and advocating for her clients’ best interests.

Her approach shifted dramatically in 2019. “I was burning out. I was chasing leads, frustrated, and my family was suffering. I had to realize that God is in control, and I am not,” she shares. Re-evaluating her life, she turned to Matthew 22, reminding herself that the greatest commandments are to love God and love others. By focusing on relationships rather than relentless lead generation, her business

flourished. “The next year was my best in sales,” she notes.

Today, her career is thoroughly rewarding. Known as a persistent Realtor®, “no” or “can’t” are not an acceptable answer for her. “I love making a way for everyone to reach their goals,” she adds. Ginny values the time she gets to spend with clients, walking through one of the most important times of their lives.

Outside of work, Ginny enjoys spending time with her growing family, including watching her kids play sports and mentoring high school girls in youth group. Her faith remains her compass: “God has been good, always faithful to provide,” she says.

After 18 years in real estate, Ginny remains passionate about helping others. For anyone looking to buy or sell a home in Tennessee, Ginny Newell is a Realtor® that understands the value of home, family, and faith. “I love helping people find their home in Tennessee,” she says. “Because home isn’t just where you live— it’s where life happens.”

If you’re ready to find your Tennessee dream home, she’s the Realtor® who will guide you with great expertise and pure faith. Ginny Newell, Realtor®

WHAT DOES HEALTHY WATER REALLY MEAN?

Unhealthy water is the #1 cause of death for children in the world. When we hear this, we think of 3rd world countries, and we should. But, it greatly effects adults as well, and yes, in America – you & me. I am a Chemist & BioChemist, working in the water treatment field for 47 years, both in the USA & 3rd world countries. As Americans, we need to be educated on water.

WATER IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA… TOXINS, HORMONES, & CARCINOGENS

The greatest exposure Americans have to carcinogens is in the shower. Just as the 2nd most effective way to inject a drug into our bloodstream is inhalation, we need to realize that whatever toxins, hormones, and /or carcinogens are in our water, inhalation of shower mists will result in the water contaminants to be absorbed directly into our bloodstream in 3 seconds as we breathe in the shower mist. We should have concerns regarding what is in our city waters, such as pharmaceuticals, hormones, fluoride (among many concerns regarding fluoride is that it is a hormone confuser). And the big one – carcinogens – are formed from the regular breakdown of chlorine in the presence of organics – particularly when potable water sources are lakes & rivers. Well water concerns are heavy metals, mal taste and/or smell, along with viruses & bacteria, depending upon the water.

GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES

Prior to 2004, our home regularly tested over 10 ppm of chlorine in city water from our kitchen faucet. The government did not have strict chlorine guidelines prior to 2004 for potable water. Yet, if a public swimming pool tested over 3.0 ppm of chlorine, it was mandated that everyone get out of the pool. But, the allowable drinking water limit for chlorine by the government is 4.0! The conclusion? We need to selfeducate and take personal responsibility for ourselves and our family.

PROPER TREATMENT OF WATER… AESTHETICS, EQUIPMENT, & HEALTH

As a consulting water chemist to the automotive industry, I had developed a catalytic treatment system specifically for metals removal at a large automotive engine manufacturing plant. The result was that it both saved the need for a $3M waste treatment plant, and potentially kept jobs from moving out of the USA. But the unintended realization was that it was a fantastic treatment system for city and well water, for it would not only remove carcinogens, toxic heavy metals, but also fluoride, hormones, pharmaceuticals, various fertilizers, chlorine, high hardness, mal smells & taste, yet leave in the good constituents of water such as the bicarbonates. This technology, developed by Applied Technologies Resources, referred to as SpringPure, was a breakthrough for affordable, effective residential water treatment. It is so effective, these toxins and more are listed

does it make a difference to your family & the

right on the label – quite different from conventional water treatment systems.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO ASSURE GOOD CLEAN WATER FOR MY FAMILY?

Simple… SpringPure technology.

With over five decades of legal experience, Michael D. Galligan has built a legacy rooted in justice, advocacy, and community service. As a founding member of the respected firm Galligan & Newman, Mr. Galligan has navigated some of the most challenging cases— from nationally covered criminal trials to intricate federal litigation and personal injury cases. He is a trusted advocate in McMinnville, Tennessee, and beyond.

Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Viola, Tennessee, Mr. Galligan's journey after graduating from Middle Tennessee State University began with

serving his country. He volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corps and trained at Quantico, Virginia. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and then Okinawa, Japan, where he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant and then Captain in the U.S. Marines and was transferred to Vietnam. His military discipline and leadership set the stage for a remarkable legal career, beginning with his graduation from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1971.

For over 53 years, Mr. Galligan’s expertise spans criminal law, medical malpractice, employment law, domestic issues, and complex civil litigation. As a diplomat of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) and a member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers, his credentials are impeccable. Yet, his most rewarding role may have been as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee, where he taught trial advocacy for 13 years, shaping the next generation of legal minds.

Mr. Galligan’s dedication extends far beyond his legal practice. For 40 years, he served on the board of River Park Hospital, championing improved healthcare for Warren County. He remains actively involved in initiatives like Main Street McMinnville and WCTE, a public television station, ensuring cultural and educational enrichment for the

community. Through his firm, he proudly sponsors “Main Street Live,” a beloved summer music series that brings residents together.

When he’s not in the courtroom or mentoring young attorneys, Mr. Galligan nurtures his creative side. An avid painter, poet, and art enthusiast, he also finds joy in tennis, running, and spending time with his wife, Rhonda, their children, grandchildren, and Simba, their German Shepherd companion.

Clients are drawn to Mr. Galligan not only for his vast legal expertise but for his genuine care and dedication. Whether navigating complex litigation or offering counsel during life’s most challenging moments, he approaches every case with the same principles that have defined his career: integrity, determination, and the pursuit of justice.

Following the devastating Hurricane Helene that hit Western North Carolina, it took weeks before power was restored and a month before non-potable water became available. Within two days, SpringPure was able to provide 8 generators and install a 24,000-gallonper-day SpringPure MAX

Catalytic Filter to purify a local water source for all the facility’s water needs at a Children’s Home in the Swannanoa, NC area – supplying both drinking and shower water to over 100 boys, girls, and staff. All in all, over 30 purification systems were provided in the Western North Carolina area, with a total capability of nearly 1/2 million gallons of ultra-pure water per day.

Yes, our tagline, “Clean Water for You, Clean Water for the World” includes local disaster relief, just as we provide free water systems to other parts of the world in need.

Also note the picture at above -- we provided a water system and water training to a poor neighborhood in India in 2013. Now in 2025, it still provides pure drinking water. In 2014, this neighborhood provided the manpower for us to begin partnering with them to put water systems in other areas of great need. Won’t you partner with us as well? Join us! Clean water for you. Clean water for the world!
