DEAN’S FORWARD As the third decade of the Millennium approaches, the realities placed upon the social strata is ever evolving. Much is related to Technology whereby a seemingly new dawn of Disruption is upon us. From Autonomous vehicles, Deep Machine Learning, an Industrial Revolution of a Fourth kind until an emergence of a Gig Economy seem to be prevalent at all levels of society. These are all of which the present education of Art & Design has to take on board. Indeed it would seem to be daunting yet there may just be that proverbial silver lining among the clouds. The Faculty of Art & Design aspires to shape the future and improve the world through creativity & innovation. We happily plan a collision of technology, the arts and design to bring about social betterment to the world. From robust research-based Creative output to a Fortune 500 company to provision of water pumps for impoverished remote villages, the practice of Art & Design is now headed towards social betterment at all levels. Our intense collaborative efforts with the Creative Industry be it from new product development until research in conservation of a diminishing craft bears witness for all.

Dynamic is the constant change or development of a situation that is happening starting from today that will lead to tomorrow. A constant change that will result in impacts of certain occasions.

Through dynamic processes, an individual or a group of people able to develop a better solution for a better result by having actions and dedications. It relies upon one’s heart and desire to develop new changes from time to time. It should be a flow that continuously grows in times. Dynamic needs energetic and active persons to deliver the dynamic movement. Dynamic requires enthusiastic desires to perform it into actions.

Dynamic is chosen as part of our representative to give the impression of how we grow as unit flowing through times and self-adjusting to develop a new learning and new creativity each day. Dynamic does not stop, it runs and keeps running and each step taken are stepping stones in becoming the objectives we have set for. Changes start within ourselves to develop more ideas with the knowledge provided by the institutions. As a unit, we move in Dynamic flow, continuously growing with changes of becoming experts in our own field. In the design, Dynamic has been applied to show a dynamic flow that shows constant movement in the arts element. Constant changes of designs are shown in every layout to show improvement of developing ideas from one to another.

In conclusion, Dynamic must live within a person to show that they are on constant change to develop themselves and their surroundings. Thus, in the study of printing, a student must be productive towards developing themselves to become experts in their field, not only as an individual but also as a team. Printing is not a one-man job but a group of Dynamic people that are classified into certain categories according to their own expertise.

Our students, faculty and staff members take pride in exclusively producing high value design to new discoveries sparked by ingenuity and creativity. Such is the strength of the faculty’s practice which has seen it through many a trying time.

We encourage a research environment which asks questions that no one else has thought to ask. A renegade culture where going ‘against the grain’ would yield ground-breaking discoveries which in turn will greatly contribute to the nation’s aspiration of the future. The global awareness on an impactful nurturing of our planet calls for all fields in academia to get onboard. This Faculty is committed in all aspects to be a major contributor to this global effort. This goes beyond the itinerant assumption of attempting to ‘catch up’ with development and more of being at the forefront of it all. Printing has always been a part of our life, and it exists in many forms of products. It ranges from reading materials to food packaging, to electronic items. The differences in producing those items are in the printing process. Currently, we are seeing an increase in demand for printing products. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for the packaged products that need to be shipped increases. Packaging design requires the expertise of the printers to produce them. With the whole world enforcing lockdown, the only way to get food and other products is by delivery. And with delivery comes the demand for print packaging products. Packaging has been around for centuries but in different forms and materials.

Today, the demand for packaging of any goods is on the rise, mainly for door-to-door delivery. Each item sold online would need to have proper packaging and then be shipped via the postal service or courier safely.

This semester, the printing students from UiTM ventured into the print packaging world to help SME companies to come out with innovative packaging to help with the marketing of their products.

Students studied their clients’ products and proposed innovative packaging to help secure their clients’ products and to level up with their competitors. Some of the products produced by the students are for clients such as Wau Animation Studios (Ejen Ali), Bukit Kepong Emergency Gallery (PDRM), Iamfamous, NH Yati Cream & Cheese, Shazzmin Empire, and many more. A lot of innovative ideas put into the packaging products are in the form of design and technology – with the use of Augmented Reality (AR) embedded in the design to help in providing more information about the products and to help in sales and marketing of the products. Cross-media products (print + computer technology such as AR), can capture audiences easily and create demand and sales for the products. This can be seen in some of the products produced by the students this semester for their clients.

Congratulations to batch 41st Printing Technology students’ groupDYNAMIC, on their accomplishments in producing products of industry standards. And thank you to all companies involved in this project.

DYNAMIC is the highlight of the industry calendar. As an exhibition platform, DYNAMIC is hoping to promote a dynamic network of businesses and collaboration in print packaging industry. Once again, we are looking forward to exhibiting creative and innovative packaging solutions that can help industry in dealing with the transformation in our industry and the associated challenges. One particularly important aspect in this regard is the interplay of new media and changing customer preferences. We at Department of Printing Technology, FSSR, UiTM harness the potential of every student so that they can produce printed packaging as an intelligent, efficient and holistic process made up of carefully strategic approaches.

SUPERVISOR’S WORD Assalammualaikum W.BT, first and foremost, I would like to thank the Department of Printing Technology and also Mr Yusuf Masod for giving me the opportunity, guidance and support to handle the subject of PMA620 Major Project together for this semester as this is my first time involved with student final year project. Furthermore, our students have been involved with various packaging companies in order to help market their product by producing creative and innovative packaging. Furthermore, with the cooperation of all the printing companies, our students have acquired a wide range of knowledge learned and with this cooperation as well, they are able to train and prepare themselves when faced with challenging situations in the world of work one day.

In addition, DYNAMIC is a tagline created by final year students of printing technology and hope to promote business networking in the packaging industry. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratule the final student of Printing Techology batch 41st group on this proud achievement. You have left behind a very good legacy for the juniors and incoming students to follow. MAJOR 2 Takoishu.Officialhq was started in early 2019, the owner from this company was Muhammad Nasrul Haq Bin Muzilan which this year 23 years old. Their started with open stall or booth at pasar malam with different place and now their have their own restaurants. They sell product which is base on japanese dish.

For major digital, I decided to do menu because it links with Major 1 product, packaging. My client also is in need for a menu because they just opened a restaurant. Therefore, it is lack of offline material as a guidance for the customers to choose their foods. Based on my research, glossy lamination suits the most for the menu since it gives a clear, shining and vibrant effects for the images in the menu which can influence customers’ decisions.

Kedai Kopi Chantek Sijangkang start a business on 2009. The founder name is Madam Sahrul Hanis Bt Sapangi. The shop is located in Kampung Sijangkang . Their main product is cake or dessert.

In addition to cakes and desserts, they sell western Talam, Bandung Shrimp Noodles, Marveoulos Sour Water Beef Rice and Delicious Roasted Goat.

Major 2 is based on digital printing product, and I decided to create a Menu Stand. The shop currently has one menu for each foods & cakes and it is provided only at the counter. They are lacking of menu that can be shown to the customers because there are 10 dining tables in the shop.

By creating this Menu Stand, it is suitable to place on every customer’s table and it lessen the staff’s jobs without having to carry and pass the menu every time.

Every restaurant must have a waiter. So for minor I chose to produce 10 pieces of heat press tshirt.

Fiska Kek Lapis has opened two branches in Pekan Trong, Perak and 77 Halal Grocer, Shah Alam. Fiska Kek Lapis is the number one source for Sarawak Layered Cakes, also they dedicated to give the best layered cakes and give an authentic taste of Sarawak Layered Cakes.

I chose brochure because it is one of promotional documents used to provide introduction about the company and a lot of information about the selling products. Every Fiska Kek Lapis customers will be given this promotional brochure every time they purchase products from the shop.

Cik Daa Sweety Biz is food company is based in 5110 Taman Desa Tanjung , 22000 Jerteh, Besut Terengganu. The client started her business in 2015 at her own place and handle it by herself.

She established the name of her brand in 2018 by using the name of Cik Da Sweety Biz Ent and has registered under SSM.

The purpose of the menu book is to showcase a variety of cakes and pastries. With this menu book, it is easier for customers to make reservations.
