Project Teach
Project Guide
Project Teach is a school-based supplementary programme by SINDA. It improves the academic performance of Indian students in English, Mathematics and Science through intensive tuition sessions conducted in small groups. This programme, targeting Primary 1 to Primary 6 students who scored a C-grade and below in their examinations, is anchored by strong partnerships with schools, parents and tutors to provide students with optimal support. Students are identified for the programme by school teachers who also serve as SINDA Liaison Officers (SLOs). These classes – held before or after curriculum time at the school’s premises – are customised to the students’ learning needs.
Project Guide is an academic support programme designed for primary level students to complete their homework in a conducive after-school study environment. These students receive guidance with their homework from trained tutors.
Project Teach impacted 490 primary school students across 39 schools in 2017.
SINDA offers intensive, short-haul tutorial programmes to support students sitting for PSLE, GCE N(A)-Level and O-Level examinations. These coaching programmes, conducted at SINDA, are specifically designed to help students strengthen their grasp of core concepts. In addition to familiarising students with examination formats, these programmes also offer them with answering strategies, memorisation skills and time management techniques.
This programme, piloted in 2017 at four primary schools where Big Heart Student Care Centres were also running, benefited 56 students.
Intensive Coaching Programmes for Landmark Examinations
In 2017, 46 students were enrolled across four programmes: PSLE Maths & Me, PSLE Maths in Focus, 4N(A) Maths and O-Level Maths.
