• Rats can be trained to help people.

• R ats can use their sense of smell to detect things such as landmines and tuberculosis.

Before reading Exploring vocabulary Give each student a copy of HeroRATs: Ratas heroínas Say: Las ratas han sido entrenadas para usar su sentido del olfato para encontrar minas terrestres, que son bombas subterráneas.
