The Breds Treasure Beach Sport Park and Academy sits on 17 acres of land and boasts football fields, a cricket pitch with three strips, basketball and netball courts lit by solar lights, as well as change rooms and showers.

The Black River is in itself an attraction, as several safaris ply the long river route. Visitors can see and interact with American crocodiles that have made the river and the surrounding wetlands their home. The crocodiles are legally protected and roam freely throughout the vast wetlands and morass area. Fishermen also use the river to catch shrimp and fish which are sold to local establishments. The Pelican Bar is a quaint restaurant and bar located on a sand bar in the Caribbean Sea. This unique ‘hot spot’ is six hundred meters from the Parottee shoreline where fishermen from the area earn their keep by offering canoe rides to the off-shore restaurant and bar. The latest attraction is a river tour to the Fishing Sanctuary located at Malcolm Bay, west of the Black River Harbour. Educational tours are offered to showcase the flora and marine fauna in the area. Plans are also in the works to offer snorkeling opportunities. There is also an exciting heritage tour of the town, available to guests who want to step back in time and enjoy the stories of the town. (See Appendix. )
