B RAD BUR N BR IEF Dear Sandy Resident, Happy Halloween! If you have not had a chance to get out and see the fall leaves you are really missing out! Although many of our usual activities are limited due to COVID-19, enjoying Sandy’s open spaces and nature are great ways to spend time with family. We are lucky to live in a state where there is so much nature to see in a short distance from our front doors. I am excited to announce we have finally found an effective platform that will facilitate this. Shop Sandy The Shop Sandy campaign was launched on Aug. 1, 2020! Shop Sandy was created to encourage local shopping and support for local businesses. Did you know approximately 1% of your transaction stays with the City? Follow Sandy City and the South Valley Chamber of Commerce on social media for prize drawing information and the Item of the Week. A few of the benefits of shopping local include: • Shopping local supports Sandy businesses helping them thrive and grow. • Local businesses use other local businesses as vendors creating growth within the city economy. • Spending money locally increases job opportunities for the community. Also, look for the new “Shop Sandy” sticker and window clings. You can pick up a free sticker for your water bottle or bumper at many local businesses or at City Hall’s information desk. P A G E
