These 2 occupations work together to create one of the most important things in our society, construction.

With new technology, blueprints and outlines are often created with computergenerated drawing technology for efficiency and accessibility purposes.

The Work Options THE DIFFERENT PLACES THIS DIVERSE INDUSTRY CAN TAKE YOU

When studying this field in school, one has the qualifications for jobs such as a drafting manager, a railroad coordinator, a CAD specialist, a structural engineer, and a drafter or designer.

One also could become a mentor for aspiring drafters and designers and can become a college-level instructor in this field.

The possibilities for this massive and highdemand industry are endless.

The buildings and structures we see every day start as sketches, computer-designed blueprints, and drawings, then morph into beautiful, and intricate sculptures that we know and always observe. In a way, drafters and designers are overlooked artists.

Art is in Everything Around Us

The more buildings, bridges, roads, and more are built, the more artistry the world calls for.

We as a society should learn to appreciate people who work in this field and what they provide.

The salaries for a job in this field can range from $60,000 to $115,000 a year, which signifies a stable and comfortable yearly salary. This admirable field is centuries old, and no artificial intelligence or machines could ever hold up to what the people in this field have done for society for years and years to come.

Buildings and structures are an unavoidable aspect of everyday life. We inevitably are to be inside of or see a building or structure each day. Next time we find ourselves observing the inside or outside of a building, we should acknowledge those who started it all with a sketch.
