Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) 101 Volunteers will learn how to register for an account, search for volunteer positions, and trach volunteer service hours. Oct 1 • 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Organization Point of Contact (OPOC) VMIS Management Required training course for VMIS OPOCs. Learn Army volunteer regulations, how to use VMIS to post volunteer positions, accept volunteer applications, manage organization volunteers, and certify volunteer hours. RELOCATION READINESS

Sponsor Training Learn how to be a helpful and supportive sponsor to your unit’s Newcomers. This training goes beyond the mandatory online component to teach you how to best meet the sponsorship requirements and connect with community resources. Spouses welcome to attend. SOLDIER & FAMILY READINESS GROUP (SFRG)

Key Contact Training Designed to provide training in key contact duties, communicating with Family members and understanding roles and responsibilities. It also shows key contacts how they fit into a successful SFRG. Oct 1 • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Soldier & Family Readiness Liaison (SFRL) Training Designed to prepare Soldiers who are appointed as SFRLs to assist with the operational, logistical, and administrative aspects of the SFRG. As a liaison between the command and the SFRG volunteer the SFRL needs to know the ins and outs of the SFRG and how their role can assist both the command and the volunteers. Included in this training is the Organizational Point of Contact (OPOC) education and certification. Oct 2 • 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Informal Fund Custodian Training Designed for Fund Custodians to gain a clear understanding of authorized uses with SFRG informal funds in accordance with governing regulatory guidance for SFRG operations and informal funds. It also clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of the Funds Custodian and Alternate. Oct 9 • 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

SFRG Leader Training Learn to identify methods of communicating with SFRG membership and recognize non-mission essential activities and resources that support a successful SFRG program. MILITARY CHILD SPOTLIGHT

Jayla Bostic

AMR Youth Center Jayla is in the 6th grade at Red Hill Elementary School. Her favorite subjects in school are Math and Art. Her mother has served in the Army for over 15 years. This is their second year here in Hawaii. Jayla’s dream is to become a K-Pop star. Recently, she and her dance group participated in her schools’ talent show and won 2nd place. They danced “Kill This Love” by Korean Pop Star, Black Pink. At the AMR Youth Center, she is a youth leader in the Korean Language & Culture Club. She likes to share her love of Korean music, drama, and idol stars to other youth. Jayla also participates in the BGCA Torch Club, 4H Cooking, 4H Art, and Functional Fitness at the youth center. She also enjoys track & field, gymnastics and dance.

Halloween Screen Under the Stars

Come join us out on the South shores of Oahu at White Plains. It has an exposed break that provides for reliable surfing conditions year round. Must be a proficient swimmer and able to tread water for at least 6 min and swim 200 yards.
