URBAN FOREST PROJECT
REGENERATIVE PLAYSCAPE
GREENHOUSE
PROGRAMS USED:
RHINO, V-RAY, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Influenced by Guthrie, OK's 1800s-era historical district, the greenhouse was envisioned to repurpose a defunct swimming pool and address food insecurity for a 10,000-resident community.

PERSPECTIVES:
Perspective image of an abandoned Victorian greenhouse, drawing inspiration from an unfinished graduate school project, paying homage to its abandoned nature.
GUTRIE PARKING LOT REVITALIZATION
PROGRAMS USED:
RHINO, LUMION, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
The location, situated across from a high school, not only provides an ideal gathering spot for students and parents but also fosters economic growth through the inclusion of revenue-generating retail establishments. This project combines urban revitalization with sustainable economic development, urban functionality, and environmental responsibility.

PERSPECTIVES:
LINCOLN PARK DESIGN
PROGRAMS USED:
RHINO, LUMION, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Proposed design was to address an Oklahoma City neighborhood that currently faces food insecurity due to limited grocery store access.
Acknowledging the site's focal depression, an innovative design strategy was implemented: a park that seamlessly integrates with the natural topography, functioning as a catchment basin during periods of water accumulation. This architectural solution not only embraces the site's central depression but also serves as a harmonious blend of landscape and function, enhancing the overall design ethos of the community space

PERSPECTIVES:
Perspective renderings of a proposed design for grocery store with a rooftop greenhouse and several mix-use apartment complexes. The grocery store features a unique two-story design, with the first floor dedicated to offering a diverse range of food and home goods. On the top floor, an innovative approach is employed, transforming the entire space into a greenhouse. This vertical cultivation area enables the store to grow a significant portion of its produce on-site, promoting sustainability and fostering a direct connection between the source of food and the community it serves. The surrounding building are mixed-use buildings and wrap-buildings to provide living arrangements and entertainment.
REGENERATIVE PLAYSCAPE
PROGRAMS USED:
RHINO, LUMION, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
The proposed playscape for children up to five years old integrates regenerative design and child development theories from Montessori and Vygotsky. It includes a trike track that passes through a shed housing tricycles and a sensory garden designed for individuals experiencing sensory overload, offering a private space within the landscape. To encourage a connection with nature, bird and squirrel feeders are strategically placed, allowing children to observe wildlife.

URBAN FOREST PROJECT
PROGRAMS USED:
RHINO, LUMION, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
The project aimed to create an ecological, social, and economic impact by designing a permaculture-inspired urban farm that integrated the site's existing slope. This included providing nearby residents with public and hands-on access to diverse plants in the lower two acres and offering Restore OKC a design maximizing revenue-generating spaces, thus enhancing the lower two acres' value. The goal was to harmonize ecological sustainability, community engagement, and economic viability in a holistic manner.

ANALYSIS
The project is anchored in the 12 principles of permaculture, an approach to land management and philosophy rooted in mimicking the arrangements found in thriving natural ecosystems. Drawing inspiration from whole systems thinking, the project embraces permaculture design principles to create an urban food forest in an area of Oklahoma City facing specific needs. By applying these principles, the project aims to establish a sustainable and resilient ecosystem that mirrors the regenerative qualities observed in nature. Through the integration of permaculture practices, the project seeks to not only address ecological considerations but also contribute to regenerative agriculture, foster rewilding, and enhance community resilience, particularly in an urban context where these elements are crucial.
